Naihanchi Shodan Update

Спорт

Basically, this was done to add a few more details to help our overseas students better understand the intricacies and possibilities contained in this kata.
Truthfully, I'm not known for my kata performance. I'm known for my fighting and Self-Defence Tactics and Techniques which my Military background shows.
This is the original way we were taught by Master Seiyu Oyata.
Done in Kfar Adumim, Israel with myself and Yehoshua Kadosh, my senior student who is an 8th Dan, Kyoshi, with a Daishihan Menjo (Master Instructor's Teaching License).
As always:
Commenting and clicking the like button gets the algorithm to introduce our material to others not directly connected to us.
Feel free to comment. We read every one of the comments. Agree or disagree. If you have an idea, let us know! We want to advance our knowledge just like you are (or should be!). In fact, this newer video is in response to comments posted on our previous Naihanchi Shodan video. And, YES! we DO wear shoes. Do you think you are Billy Jack and going to remove your shoes before you get in a fight? Please!!!
Real Karate. Not Sport. Learn from a Military Science and Tactics instructor specializing in Individual Tactical Training. We do Seminars worldwide. The details are on our website www.academy-of-ryukyu-kenpo.info. I enjoy teaching people who WANT to learn! With Albert Geraldi's passing, only Greg Lindquist and I are left from the original bunch. Greg is more of a Kata guy, I'm the fighter and tactics guy. I don't teach that namby-pamby stuff passing itself off as Ryukyu Kempo these days.

I learned all these hidden techniques shown here and more when I studied this system, Love doing this kata but what he said about mental gymnastics is correct and it may even be closer to mental masturbation, Don't fool yourself into thinking any of these techniques work in a real fight.

Some are for training and others DO work. The Naihanchi kick to the knee is one. We didn't have a bat to demonstrate with, but what I did to Yoshi does work. I just don't show my follow-ups, normally. If I'd had the bat, I'd have shown the easy-to-do takeaway and use on the attacker. Facebook has warned me that showing some of my stuff will get me banned. Most of Oyata's kata moves (originally) were entry movements leading to the solution. His later stuff was basically crap for public consumption. Geraldi agreed with me that it was for the sake of making money. Had to add two commas!

No offense John, but that is not quite what Oyata had in mind.
