I was watching a vocal coach react, and she compared Hyunjin to Min Yoongi - she wasn't saying they're on the same level, but that they had a similar feel. I don’t know enough about anything to know if that's true, and of course opinion and other people's perceptions are subjective, but I thought that was interesting.

Idk anything about hard verses but hyunjin (rap) and the others sound really good on placebo (trust me!!) And the lyrics are very beautiful, the video is very cute as well!! I really recommend it!

This is originally a 3racha song and hyunjin part is actually part of changbins verse so thats why he sounds like him flow wise lol.

don't think you have yet, but "Tortoise and the Hare" should def be on your list!!!

Yes you are right Hyunjin learned to rap as a trainee because he wasn't much of a singer, and in k-pop most of the idols become rappers when they are weak vocalist, same goes with Felix. Changbin helped hyunjin to developed his own style, meanwhile Han writes all his verses for him. He had a great helping hand. But he tried hard to improve his skills. Chan is a good rapper too. He has skills and potential but he kind of had to give up the rapping position because he can sing well. Felix isn't a vocalist so they put them in the rap line. Though I feel that his rapping skills are average, I wish they trained him more as a vocalist, because he would've done much better in that field. Han and Changbin already came into the industry to eat out all as rappers, when they were like 16,17 y/o. But they both have so much skill in dancing and singing that they would've debut even if they didn't rap.

Hyunjin has come so far in both his rap and vocals. Since he came back from hiatus Hyunjin has had equally key rap and vocal parts in all their total tracks for the last three albums plus other songs; like Hyunjin owns Freeze. All of Lee Know's vocals skills are used more in every song now too. More of his falsetto but also his rock voice in songs like Superboard. I think 3Racha has made it a point that JYP knows all 8 members are needed in SKZ.

@@rugr82day and skz always had a rising trajectory and their own timing. It's their intentions of always taking a step forward (often unpredictable in direction yet toward growth nonetheless). Hyunjin's interviews that ive been seeing on twitter really highlights the growing synergy of the team as eight members.

Can't say that I agree with "Felix isn't a vocalist" He is in the rap line probably cuz of his voice, and might be the same reason why he wasn't so much of a vocalist before , but there might be other reasons as well. 1. Felix wasn't fluent in korean pre-debut and maybe in the debut era as well, he did worked hard to learn the languague so he could rap and sing more verses other than english or just some lines in Korean 2. When they were 9, the units were 3 vocalists, 3 rappers, 3 dancers, when they became 8, seems they wanted to have 2 "main units", so it became the rap line and the vocalist line. 3. Once again, his deep voice goes better with rap, but even in the first years Felix did sing some verses. Of course he has practiced a lot and now he can sing with more range, the same with Hyunjin, he had to worked really hard to dance this well, to rap and sing cuz he was casted in the streets because of his good looks, all the other members had some training or some experience before they became trainees. This is why I love SKZ, they want to be better and they help each toher to become better in whatever area they might be lacking.

Yes in fact Hyunjin did learn from Changbin, in trainee days Hyunjin had a hard time in everything, being street casted for being pretty in the korean standards. He could sing but then he learned dancing with again problems and rapping, he got judged for his pronunciation being bad so he would get his finger on his mouth or pen to fix it and Changbin also gave him more tips, Hyunjin himself said if Changbin wasn’t here he would’ve never been here and would’ve not made it through.

Love the reaction - Han and Changbin are speed demons when it comes to rapping - I kinda think/it seems that while in the early stuff Hyunjin was developing and working on his speed he somewhere found melodic rapping as they call it and I think he may have gon that directions to add a different color - they have fast and while he can do it and do it well (I believe TMT is what I’ve seen referenced as his fastest rap) he’s found his own niche and flair to bring to the group - Felix is definitely growing and flexing his singing - his voice is so unique within the group but has been building confidence and we are seeing more variety from him.. Lee Know was also moved into rapping at the start of SKZ but with vocal training transitioned into that position but he also learned from Changbin and Han -

Fam - Korean version or Japanese version. Both adorable … basically a little introduction rap where you get a glimpse of their personalities in the lyrics.

I've always liked the raps in Placebo/Mixtape 1 and For You/Mixtape 3. No, they aren't anywhere near the hardest, either in vibe or in skill. But they _work._ They fit so well in their respective songs, and I just like how they flow seamlessly. (Also, they're just good songs overall.) Plus I genuinely enjoy Felix's rap in For You/Mixtape 3 (which, while not that important in overall qualities, is nonetheless still his fastest rap, afaik). And unlike in most songs, when you hear them rapping in Mixtapes 1-5 (Placebo, Behind the Light, For You, Broken Compass, Hoodie Season), you get to hear what each of them wrote for himself, hear his own personally written rap, including lyrics and flow. Which is why, say, Hyunjin sounds distinctly like Hyunjin in those, rather than a lot like Han -- which was most often the case until the last year or so (because Han's generally the one writing Hyunjin's raps in the non-Mixtape songs, and the style shows).

if you like the flow changing and the mixed beat, try listen to Tortoise and the Hare from SKZ, it's not sure you will like it bc it's a really experimental and weird song, but it's my fav so yeah, I hope you enjoy it

Can you please regulate the volume diffrently next time? The song was quite, so I needed to put the volume all the way up. Next thing I know, you & you're stream sounds scream into my ear.

When STAY say changbin is THE fastest rapper (and they say the numbers 11 sec), theyre either SERIOUS or trolling...coz i cant even say confidently that ALL STAYs are aware its from the quick reading test (of which seungmin ultimately beats him and we joke about it coz he got retainers on when he did it iiric) and a meme included to the same category as Jin's record So STAY, if u still think Changbin has an 11sec record, NOOOOOO 😂 he's got an 8-9sps but not 11.

This. Iirc, carkpop (who's where everybody gets all the sps numbers, including the joke about 11+ sps) currently has Changbin's at...either 9.5 or 9.75 sps, at least with the eight-second constant he uses for consistency (there are faster small bits in various verses, of course). Funnily enough, despite Changbin technically having a slightly faster individual sps record than Han, Han has an overall faster sps throughout the discography. (Yes, I saw and to some extent checked the math. No, I don't have my notes anymore.) At this point, I just sigh when I see the "fastest in kpop! 11+ sps!" stuff repeated by poor fans who've been misinformed by their own fandom. It just discredits the actual skill and complexity and quality Changbin (and Han) has in his rap, simply because sps is a quantifiable value that people think they can use for comparison clout.

I mean, I'm not immune from it; I too celebrate when they break certain barriers or records, including some firsts and whatnot. But I feel like there's a line between "we're celebrating this thing and we're proud of them for it" and "we're using this thing as proof of their ultimate superiority and using it as a weapon against others," and too often that line gets crossed. It devalues them (and others), and it's so antithetical to SKZ's own behavior and outlook. 😐
