*EMOTIONAL* HE HAS MY HEART!!! Dedicated ARMY Reacts to! Streetlight by Changbin ft. Bangchan

Ойын-сауық

My first time reacting to Stray Kids' Streetlight by Changbin! I'm going on a journey to learn about other K-pop groups outside of BTS. K-pop has never been my genre of music, so I want to learn as much as I can! Changbin might be my new bias....

I really do think all of SKZ know how to sing about loneliness and pain with so much impact because they themselves have experienced what they're singing about. It's one thing I'm so grateful for, nothing they sing about ever comes from anywhere else but their hearts. It's what makes them so human to me. I love these boys so much and I'm glad their sound managed to comfort and relate to yet another person today, considering that that's all they ever talk about - creating music to give people a safe haven. Others like RUN, Alien, Wish you back by HAN, I don't want to admit by Chan, Deep end by Felix are some of my personal favourites since these songs are up to multiple interpretations, it's never just romantic and I think that's the beauty of it.

Honestly the lyrics to Stray Kids songs are what drew me to them in 2017. Hellevator (their first song together) dropped and I clicked it out of curiosity only to be hit in the face with the lyrics and I was immediately drawn in. And throughout the years, I feel like I grew up with them and experienced similar things as them at least emotionally. They went from the lyrics about discovering who they were to telling everyone "this is us. This is what you're getting." And more recently they've been getting into discovering their more mature sides, talking about love in their lyrics and honestly as someone who is similar in age to them, I feel like I experienced these emotions on a similar level as them throughout these years.

I understand what you mean I've been an army for 7 years now, the way i met bts was the definition of that quote I literally was at my darkest time and bts were the light that kept me going so they mean a lot for me, I just recently became a stay ( i saw them first at 2017 when they released their pre-debute track "hellevator" and listned to their title tracks but i stoped at "side effects" which dropped in 2019 because of some problems i had at the time) i actually became so invested in them after i saw their personalities through the many KZread shorts i saw and now i am a stay who love them so much that i can't ever explain it. I understand how some people will get the wrong idea even if we don't mean to compare them it just that it makes us happy to see some similarities between our favorite groups. I am overjoyed to see you reacting to streetlight in this way since it's one of those that I relate to, it makes me feel warm-hearted to see that its not only me who feel like that when i saw you describing what you've gone through and how the song describes that, would it be wrong to say that it made me happy knowing that i am not the only one felt like that. Anyway, i loved your reaction so much and i hope you check out Alien by han. Luv u ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 💜 Ps: sorry for the long comment i didn't know i was rambling this much 😅😅

Isn't it beautiful how music can save us? Even if it isn't in our own language, that is magical 🥹 I'm happy that you're fine now and working through it! At the end of their videos they always put "stray kids everywhere all around the world, you make Stray Kids Stay", even if we lose ourselves in the way, Stray Kids will found us someway and guide us where we belong and accompany us forever so we won't fall apart again, and if we do fall apart they'll make sure to catch us and help us stand up to keep walking alongside us 🫂✨️ Btw, butterfly is my favorite song after Film Out. Like those two, I can hear them and cry on repeat all day long 🥹

If you want emotion then you should also listen to deep end (Felix) and I hate to admit (bang Chan). Also because (Felix and changbin) both singing and rapping in it and it’s a really good song. Also piece of a puzzle (seungmin and changbin) is another good one. Also miss you (hyunjin) is a sad/deep song. Also winter falls, it was written by Han and he has a way of taking the most sad lyrics but having a good beat with it to make you want to cry and bop at the same time. Also stars and raindrops (seungmin) great song, literally one of my favorites and he isn’t even my og bias. (OG bias is Felix. Now it’s Felix, seungmin, Han and bang Cham as bias and the other 4 as wreckers). Ok. Now I will stop editing to add songs lmao

If you like emotional songs, you should definitely add I Hate To Admit by Bangchan to the list Even without the lyrics, just the raw emotion in his voice makes you cry. I think you will appreciate many of their songs (be it solo or group songs) because they often get personal and deal with relatable issues. Han has a lot of deep songs too. I can relate to Changbin in Streetlight on a personal level a lot too because even if you have everything (nice parents and siblings, nice friends, a good job, you just can't help it if you feel depressed but then it makes you feel guilty, like you shouldn't feel that way and shouldn't ask for help because you feel like your problems are insignificant, before you just accept it and find some little things to make your life a bit brighter). Streetlight also has a music video on their channel and every time Chan's voice comes in at the end, it makes me cry more because it's like he's telling Binnie "you're not the only streetlight who feels that way, I am here too and you have me now" And then those high notes at the end... Maybe I feel that way because of Chan's backstory from his trainee years that we have gradually gathered from pieces of information through the years as he started opening up more and I can't imagine... It's seriously my villain origin story. (Yes, I know there are trainees with even longer training period than 7-8 years but they don't usually do that to kids who move from other countries. I can't imagine constantly losing friends I train with (because they debut, leave or are cut by the company) to the point of being the only trainee there and not even having family with me for half of my life since 12-13. No wonder he loves the kids so much.) I am OT8 all the way but if I really had to choose then Chan is my bias and Changbin is the wrecker... So I guess so far we can high five?🤣 But you will love each one of them. It just can't be helped and I think you know that from previous experience.😅 Oh, so you are getting your Wolf Chan and Dwaekki? I have to say that all the SKZOO look like little criminals, I mean... troublemakers except for Wolf Chan, because his smile is so precious. He seems like he won't judge you even if you sleep late, so he is the perfect sleeping hug huddy.☺️

Funny thing bout the Kids - they have little to none love songs. Like purely about romantic love. They sing about relationships but there is always a double meaning. Their lyrics are very introspective, many are diss tracks but usually formed as an answer. Call them pots and pans music - they will come back with gods menu. Noisy - they will make an album about being noise goblins with a Cheese intro. The series I am not, I am who, I am you is literally about finding yourself and your voice. Cle is all about the journey not the goal. Oddinary give s us a hall pass to being odd. I don't mind comparing the Kids to bts but afaik they are different. I am an older stay. Like late 30s. I stoped listening to new music in early 2010s. Everything was so boring, everything was about the same topics. When I hear bts I hear music for nice, obedient kids. When I hear skz I hear my mischievous childhood and my not so normal present. I hear ppl who went and still go through sth and figure things out. I don't hear answers wrapped in nice slogans. Tbf I don't know whole bts discography. I got bored after few of their greatest hits (I've heard few better snipets but not ehough to wipe the butter taste in my mouth). Skz and bts are targeted to different audiences

The reason I said this is because they do not, have not, and will not make the type of music you are talking about. Never once has anyone considered them "nice obedient kids" when they released three entire albums talking about the unlawful systems and damaging societal norms of Korea, 3 additional albums about learning how to love yourself, 3 more albums about fighting against sin and temptation and becoming a better version of yourself, and an entire album about the pandemic and how to get through it. Like they were literally disliked for making songs about things Koreans considered "taboo" and against "idol culture" their entire career. Just leave your comments at "I dont know their discography" because oh BOY were you just completely wrong 🤣 I get what you mean tho because if you've only heard BTS title tracks without looking into the rest of their songs, or even knowing the deeper meaning behind those popular songs, it may just come across to you as "trendy music" and that's it. it's a common misconception so no biggies 🤗

I've always been a multi, but grow attached to certain groups during important turning points of my life. From being a young teen whose mental health was plummeting... to a struggling college student who developed a panic disorder... to an agoraphobic young adult who couldn't leave the house... to now a successful healthcare worker who was brave enough to finally fly on an airplane by herself. It sounds ridiculous to some, but music really helped me when I felt like giving up and I was able to find strength through many artists over the years. That's why I can't understand why fandoms get angry with each other, especially people who are only part of one fandom and can't fathom why someone would find comfort in another artist outside of theirs. I wish we'd all respect each other and our individual journeys and mental health needs. In my case, I surrounded myself in music entirely like a cocoon until I was able to fly on my own wings... and I did. That being said... I think I've realized more as I've grown that music finds us when we most need it. For you, at the time, "Butterfly" was something that you needed in your life and you were meant to find BTS who could become a comfort group for you. The same goes for other groups you may delve into. This is a side note, but I think you'd enjoy songs by Epik High if you relate to songs like this one. I found that once I became an adult, I can relate to experiences like what Epik High talk about. If you're ever interested, I suggest the song "Home Is Far Away" by Epik High. I could name a dozen tracks tbh, but that one is one of the most relatable for me and has been on my playlist for six years. Hurts especially if you live far from your loved ones.

Especially when you pair the songs with the choreography (they have a dance practice/performance video for both songs). So many of Stay Kids songs have such a deep meaning. Being in my mid 30's and dealing with a lot of mental health stuff throughout my life, it was really nice coming across a group that a majority of their songs have actual substance. I've only been a Stay for like 1.5 months, but I came across them at a really low time in my life and they have helped me so much. Sometimes I feel ridiculous saying that a Kpop group means so much to me, but music has always been healing to me and their discography does not disappoint in that regard.

Save “I hate to admit” by BangChan and “Hellevator” for when you’re ready for more tears. “Hellevator” is a song from very early in their debut times and it is so relatable and it really gives you that ache in your heart.

This song has me in tears everytime I listen to it. If I could hug this song I would. When I first heard this song for the first time in my life I felt understood. Even at a young age when I tried asking for help I was always ignored so I just stopped sharing when something was bothering me and took care of things by myself. I built up this mask that I hid behind so people wouldn't know how broken I really felt. It's gotten to the point where I've pushed everyone back enough that I don't even know how to reach out to them anymore. I pushed them all back because I'm afraid of getting hurt again. This song was basically Changbin pulling my mask away and saying this is how you're really feeling and not the tough exterior you show. This was the moment I became a Stay. I knew that I had to Stay here. Changbin is my bias. He makes me feel safe. They all do. Thank you so much for reacting to this song. I'm saving up to get my own tattoo for this song. It means that much me. Enjoy your journey.

I love this song so much, it truly speaks to my heart and i love changbins singing voice its beautiful! Stray kids are really good in lyrics truly! If you like sad songs with deep meanings react to their song "another day", "slump", there are a lot more but at the moment cant remember, also if you would continue with solo songs please react to hyunjins song "little star" which has a music video but doesn't have captions so for lyrics you can search it up with the title "miss you", because it was recently released with a different title but its the same song! Sorry for the long comment i hope you enjoy your journey! ❤️

All I hope is that you can enjoy the ride :) As the other comments have mentioned, SKZ discography is a gold mine in terms of deep and meaningful lyrics, so if you like these types of songs there is a lot more to discover! I personally found myself connecting with their lyrics predebut and have loved seeing their growth ever since

Sorry, this will be a long ass comment. I just feel like sharing since you mentioned butterfly.😁I found BTS when i was really into kpop in 2014. I casually listened to a lot of groups, but in 2015 when BTS released TMBMIL series, I started focusing on them only. I was sooo in love with the albums (TMBMIL pt.1, TMBMIL pt.2, Young Forever) and I became their huge fan since then. I'm a sucker for sad deep songs that I could relate to. Rain, Butterfly (Prologue mix version), House of Cards and Tomorrow are my jam. Those songs are in my list of all time favourite kpop songs ever. In 2017, i discovered skz when i first watched Hellevator. I fell in love with Changbin's rap right away. He became my favourite after RM but I wasn't really into the group yet. I did listen to their albums but I was just a casual listener. Until they released Levanter. (levanter deserves better tho. I'm still bitter it's not fans fav😅). I was so in love with the album. The same way that I did with TMBMIL. I spent the unhealthy amount of time watching skz contents and became a dedicated fan because of levanter. So I understand that same feeling you got when listening to a new group after you're used to listen to another group. I totally get you. Levanter drew me into skz the same way TMBMIL drew me into bts. So, don't pay attention to negative comments. Sorry for those immature fans though. Just do whatever makes you comfortable. I really enjoy watching your reaction. Oh btw, Streetlight is also one of my all time favourite kpop songs ever and i love Changbin soooo much. Not just his rap but his personality as well. I'm glad you decided to check this song out.

there is two skz songs that always, always, resonate with me and makes me feel a certain way. One of it is hellevator and it talks about their struggles and it is extremely relatable. The other is grow up. grow up isn't a rap focused song and it's very mellow and soft but the lyricism in the song is what supports me to this day. would love for you to check them both out! silent cry as well :(

As a Stay, I get what you talking about the fanwar stuff. I innocently asked for some recommendations once and was trying describe what I love about Stray Kids as a barometer - because it was what I was familiar with and I got schooled hard. I'm more cautious these days. But even though Stray Kids is a group I adore, it doesn't mean I can't be open-minded about other groups and respect the work and talent of other artists. One of the reasons I love SKZ is that they put themselves into their music and capture different moods and emotions with their lyrics. Their earlier music reflected their search for their identity and struggles - later music shows their growth and depth. Changbin is fantastic on this. 🥰💖 I've said this before on other reactions of yours, but I love how you breakdown the rapping dynamics.

Ima be honest, K-pop fans are a little unhinged. Like a rap fan looking into other rappers isn’t gonna get attacked for not stanning one person 💀 I don’t get where this “solo stan” mindset came from but I wish it would stop. It’s so close-minded and you miss out on so much of the genre if you’re only looking at one source 😔

I think it's partly because of the public vote awards, like MAMA. I started watching SKZ and kpop in general last fall, and every second comment on every SKZ content was about voting, streaming, and not watching other bands because it affects the final result. I would understand if many people didn't open up to other bands for a while after this first impression.

Thank you for addressing fanwars. I'm a massive Stay, and also consider myself a casual fan of BTS/baby Army. Most Stays I've interacted with are pretty chill, it's just the ones who are more toxic can be quite loud. I watched your whole Stray Kids guide reaction, heard the comparisons (i.e. pointing out similarities) and didn't think anything of it. In fact, I liked it because the connections were interesting. Bang Chan has told Stays MULTIPLE times both on Bubble and on Vlive that he does not want Stays participating in fan wars, dragging other groups, or coming to SKZ defense. Fan wars don't even make sense because most of these groups are either friends or fans of each other! All this to say, I'm sorry you had to deal with all that.

You’ll learn as you go through their discography that A LOT of their songs are very heavy on mental health struggles. Personally, any song written by Han speak to me on a personal level. Alien, happy, slump, run, secret secret, another day, phobia, and so so many more but these are my personal faves that I think you’d deeply enjoy. Felix’s deep end is soul shattering. Silent cry is another one that hit me on a personal level, a song they wrote for Han while he was on a mental health hiatus. And yes there’s a reason soooo many stays are Ot8. It is so extremely difficult to pick a skz bias. I’ve been following them since predebut and I’ve still yet to be able to choose.

I always love to find reactors who love rhythm and love to talk about it. And if you want more tissue songs, try Slump and Scars in the First Take versions which are Japanese versions of those songs. And maybe try Han's Secret Secret, which is pretty deep. He's also an introvert who used to push people away. Changbin on the other hand is one of the most extroverted people who exist, yet he is able to find and look into this space.

Such a beautiful song. Others have already recommended some beautiful other songs to check out. I have yet to find a SKZ song I don't like, but Scars (performance video or "the first take" live performance) is beautiful. Their latest album Replay has a lot of their solo and unit songs on it, a lot of those are very deep and meaningful too.

streetlights is probably one of the most least skz song i listen to, not because its bad but because it never failed to make me tear up, like it always get me especially when it was not yet available on spotify where im forced to read the lyrics. There are a lot of songs that wrecked me when i discovered skz. they are the first group that caught my interest i ended up listening to their whole discography within 2 weeks or so. its crazy remembering it because they have 100+ songs. you could tell they are genuine and the feelings expressed are true just through their lyrics which they write themselves. i've never seen anyone who are so passionate and honest about their music. heres some recommendations Bang Chan: i hate to admit written by Han: Secret secret, Another Day written by Changbin: Sorry I Love You and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching Stray Kids THE FIRST TAKE, a Japanese channel that invite artists where they only have 1 take to perform. Stray Kids went there thrice.

I commented this on your first video but 100% agree on the fanwar stuff, it's total nonsense and hell yeah for you for speaking out. I have a song I'd like to recommend, lyrically, I'm not sure others have mentioned yet? It's "Placebo". It's my tattoo song 😭 I find it bittersweetly comforting. The jist is basically life sucks now, maybe later it won't be, so in the meantime I'm just going to let myself think things will be okay, like a placebo effect, and one day that'll be true. I just love how it's optimistic but also practical.

There are some songs you vibe with musically, some that fill you with such energy or amazement, make you so excited because of their skill and performance. Then there are songs that you hear and the lyrics verbalise something you've never known how to say, or that someone else would understand exactly. For me Han's song 'Alien' is that. There have been many songs on a similar topic as 'Alien' is about, but the attitude of his mentality in the lyrics and his tone spoke to me so hard and was something I'd not heard exactly that way before. If you ever decide to check it out there is a cool fan made animation lyric video that's worth watching too [ kzread.info/dash/bejne/mmiWrLGwhcWvorQ.html ]. Streetlight is such an impactful song and I'm so proud of Changbin for writing it. The way he can conceptualise is so hard hitting. The video supports a mental health movement too I think, the blue tree project I think it was. I love that song a lot.
