Got goosebumps! Loved the PM6007 which was more dynamic. Biggest impression was that it was “tube” like down to the ever so slight distortion in the mid vocal department. I don’t have a PM6007 but it is now on my wishlist. Thanks and ah solid review.
6007 for me. I've got a Denon PMA 600 be.The phono stage is fantastic.im not in any rush to add a pre amp yet.great review love your chanel 👍😊
Last Friday I got the NAD PP2 for only 10€ and I am greatly satisfied. It even sounds better than my Sony TA-F35 phono stage. The Marantz phono stage truly rocks but the NAD PP2 doesn't require hiding from sight. Very nice comparison, dude!
I have one 6007 truly indeed of what you ssid... thanks for sharing
Nad has superb sound quality as compare to marantz
In my opinion, NAD has more details and “space or air” in high frequencies in comparison with Marantz. Marantz bass sounds a little bit better because is not so detailed in high frequencies as NAD. Regards from Mexico City

I COMPLETELY AGREE Cheers from México Compadre
I have the Marantz PM 6007 the phono stage is impressive. And with the Marantz CD 6007 is a great combo. Just saying
The NAD sounds better to me. I agree with Andreas South description.
I have both the PP2 and Marantz PM8006, I liked the PP2 till I got the Schiit Mani. The internal phono stage of my PM8006 has the best of both - holographic soundstage like the Schiit Mani and as sweet like the PP2. The PM6007 is a very bright amp on the whole...might not be just the phono.
Thanks for this! I am between marantz pm6007 and Cyrus One. I heard both in the demo room and I cannot decide !

The Cyrus does have Bluetooth which the Marantz does not. How did they compare sound wise?

@@UTILITARIANTVUK many thanks for the reply! They both sounded good and had a clear and accurate output. I needed more time and different vinyls to understand more…However, I think that the Cyrus will perform better in longer listening sessions and with a higher volume.
I'm very surprised that the KZread "police" allowed you to play the demo track without censoring it.

Some bands allow it and all the ad revenue from the video goes to the band.
I like the nad more, the mids sound better.
Actually i think the Marantz has that very slight difference in detail of sound, slightly more defined if only a slither of difference but its more noticeable now and then when the comparisons are made.
To my ears looks like the nad has some roll of at lows and highs and little bit more emphasis on vocals, the marantz seems more linear. But not knowing how the song was intended to sound can't tell which is applying the better RIAA playback equalization or/and has a better output response. I liked the marantz more
You need a receiver with a phono in to do a good comparison. (Oh you did).
I am pretty impressed with the pm6007 phono stage, only thing is I have to push the amp a lot more to get the same volume as my cd6007 on the line in. 10 o clock on the line is 12 on the phono and that is where the amp is at it's peak power... is this normal?

Yeah, same. Found that I had to this when using the NAD also though. How is the CD6007?

@@UTILITARIANTVUK the cd6007 is a fantastic player, the new Marantz stuff is amazing.
NAD PP2
to my ears nad more enjoyable less shouty than the marantz built in phono
NAD is more sweet sounding with less fatigue treble.Marantz has too much top end "ringing".

This PM6007 is very bright. My PM8006 is warm and silky smooth. The Nad is definitely great value for money.

@@sharadnayak6946 He` criticizing the Marantz when they both perform equally. As you said the Nad is value for money but its no better than the Marantz
I think the maranta sounds a slightly fuller sound
Marantz is a little brighter on highs... But NAD is great for what it cost.... Both blow away the turntable preamp...!!!
The Marantz has an extra phono board with 4 large electrolytic capacitors at the back on the right. Since only 2 electrolytic capacitors are normally needed for the operating voltages, the other two are most likely installed in the negative feedback (prevention of input offset voltage amplification). An absolute NO GO for me.
Which input did you plug the preamp into? Iirc the pm6007 doesn't have any HT bypass or direct in inputs. Ive had mine just connected to the CD Input, which I assume is exactly the same as a bypass. Though I know on more expensive amps they will have a HT bypass input. Any idea if these inputs actually differ internally? As said I before I assume not, but I'm not that savvy on the subject. After watching this video I swapped from a cheap external pro-ject pre amp (£60) to the amps internal pho pre amp and actually preferred the external

Used one of the audio in, inputs with RCA cables.
I doubt someone blindfolded would hear any differences between the two.
I am shocked. The Marantz sounds so much better than the external Nad phono amp.
hi there, i think the NAD has a bit more siberlance. to my ear's.

Yes it definitely has some top-end smearing. Marantz is cleaner but very bright.
Marantz 👍... Nad bien mais pas autant
To me it's a tie.
To my ears, the NAD, is the bright sounding phono preamp. Marantz has more detail, resolution, and a lot more ear friendly sound. I think the Marantz, to my taste, is the most ejoyable and musical integrated amplifier in it`s class. The only thing I worry about is the low power rating, but it seems like 2*45 watts can go a pretty long way🙂
Nad. Fuller music body
PP2 is better😊
Marantz is the most musical. Bass is rock solid, vocals are clear and precise, stereo sound stage is better than NAD too. NAD for me would be tiring to listen to after a while, the Marantz has a fuller sound and is more musical making it an easier listen. Purely my opinion of course. I was considering an external phono stage until I heard the Marantz, and after seeing so many reports on how good the Marantz pm6007 phono stage is, I have to say I agree and of course I have one!
NAD sounds with more compression and Marantz with more transients.
nasal nad
Check the RPM of your turntable, it seems to be a little high. Just compare the tone with the original => kzread.info/dash/bejne/eY2dq9yeqpuyorA.html that is more important than any preamp.

It plays at around 34rpm so it's a little fast.
