NACHC Briefing on Health Center Funding

On March 14, 2024, NACHC leaders discussed the bipartisan funding for Community Health Centers that Congress passed on March 8 as part of the package to prevent a government shutdown. Congress extended health center funding through December 31, 2024 and authorized a much-needed funding boost for the first time in nearly a decade. In addition to increasing funding prospectively to $4.4 billion annually for health centers, the spending bill also extends and increases key primary care workforce programs - the National Health Service Corps and the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program.
