    Satisfying to see your BRZ being that quick in the braking and corners.

    Thanks man. I'm still learning its limits and prefered setup. I built the car for mostly GP tracks but it's still pretty good on the Nordschliefe. The only thing it would need to be a little more stable on the Nordschliefe would be a lower spring rate in the rear. As far as the brakes Essex AP Racing sprint kit with carbotech xp10 pads have been fantastic.

    You can make it happen fairly easy with rent4ring or RSR these days. Rental companies for a lap around the track make it really easy for tourist.

    Wonderful video. May I ask why not run a E85 tune instead of 93 octane tune? Also have you kept the 4.10 rear or did you swap to the 4.30 in later year cars?

    Thanks! I plan to do both those mods once stateside. E85 isn't at the pumps here in Germany so it's not very convenient. I still have the 4.10 and really need a 4.3 or if on a smaller track a 4.5 final drive.

    Super car & driving🤙 what’s your btg time?😊 would std brake calipers with pad/fluid upgrade some extra cooling suffice for nordschleife?

  • @fred062000

    @fred062000

    My BTG time is usually around a 8:34ish. I honestly stay pretty reserved on the Nordschliefe. I spend most my time on GP circuits. The stock brakes can definitely hold up with good pads, fluid, lines and ducting for the Nordschliefe, but if you push hard on a GP circuit they wont hold up for much longer than 15min. Upgrading to the Essex AP racing kit provided a consistent brake pkg which gave me confidence to push and bang in consistent lap times. Hope the information is useful.

    Nice drive man👍🏻. How is changed the handling of the car with the 18x9.5 wheels?

  • @fred062000

    @fred062000

    The 18x9.5 is a common wheel size for these track cars in Japan. It adds a ton of grip. I personally think 17x9 with a 245/40 is the perfect size. Keeps overall diameter almost stock so it won't hurt gearing and still plenty of tire.

    I recently sold it and purchased a GR corolla circuit edition. After all the track time and hard driving and the proper mods I only had to change the oil and do normal maintenance. The only thing that needed attention was the drivers side rear axle cv boot would get too hot on long 30min sessions and would slowly leak grease. After a heat shield and heat wrapping the exhaust near it. The issue was resolved.

    I think with the right driver, the BRZ could beat the STI and ST in lap times if no one else was on the track. But in real life races such as this, the STI and ST get to the turns faster and end up in the way of the BRZ.

  • @fred062000

    @fred062000

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are correct. I run 6 secs a lap faster than the ST and 2 secs faster than the STi on the GP track. We unfortunately can't get too racey because it's a public day. However on the Nordschleife experience is huge and the ST driver has a ton of laps there and can walk away from me. I've gotten much more exp since this so we are probably pretty close on the Nordschleife now. Ultimately traffic or being held up will hurt me more than them (momentum car). But if I was allowed to "race" it would be a completely different story.

    I don’t think that would be the case if you swapped drivers. We have both and the ST corners and brakes at least, if not better than the BRZ because of the extra rubber. Even the new BRZ couldn’t match pace.

    This video makes me wonder the potential of the BRZ/86 platform if they came with a flat 6. I wish the motors had a little more grunt without relying on forced induction.

  • @fred062000

    @fred062000

    Tim Schrick's VLN BRZ can definitely answer that flat 6 question for you. It's pretty nasty. This video is also a little old. I got better at carrying speed later. Personally, I think the new FA24 is what it should have had to start and if you want more and less weight a K24 with K20 Z3 head and some cams can get you to 260whp.
