No, it's la la la. The rest of the world agrees.

No matter what the version, this theme is not just one of the all-time great TV themes, but also one of the catchiest, most infectious, most utterly addicting pieces of music in history.

3:00 is the difinitive version. At least, that's the one I remember the most. I'll probably still be humming this catchy-assed song on my death bed in 30 years. Thanks Joel!

Ty for putting these in order. Season 2 to 5 is my favorite opening. We have a Roku TY and get the all mst channel. Heaven 🥳

"Would you like to buy some shoes?" "NO SHE WANTS A FISH SANDWICH!" Me and my cousins watched this show and this line from some old black and white movie had us chain gun laughing back and forth for about 15 minutes straight we basically missed the rest of the episode XD

I always felt like the Pearl episodes should've included Bobo and Observer in the intro song after they were introduced.

I always wondered if Charlie (Chuck Love) Erickson had anything to do with re-recording the instrumental part of the Love Theme after Joel left? I think they did a great job remaking it, without radically changing it.

My favorite renditions are of course Season 2-5, I adore that one and see it as the default theme in my head, but that's coming from a big Joel viewer when I first discovered the show. As I've been going through more of Mike's catalog, I also really love the Season 8 intro. Pearl's singing of the Mads part is great, that adds a lot to it. They're all really good, and it's cool to see the themes literally and figuratively share the voice of the host as well as the general vibe and cast/story changes of the show at the time. Regardless it's a masterful theme, I sing it to myself around the house every other day.

To be honest, although I like the both of them, I think Mike’s just the better host. He put more emotion into the theme song, and he was just an overall great successor to Joel. (4:33 for my favorite opening.)

Yep, big fan of Mike. I really appreciate that he kept things going with Rifftrax (with of course Kevin and Bill back on board shortly after). Those cats have spent many a year riffing bad movies into pieces for our enjoyment : )

But also remember Kinga is starting up the Experiment again so she could have rebuilt the SoL and Joel probably made BILLIONS making Crow and Servo robots for everyone, rewatch the video and in door 1 there's another Crow head

The third intro is my favorite. I consider it the definitive version.

It's funny how as cheap as the show was to produce and with its large fanbase it still got canceled simply because some executive at Scifi didn't like puppets.

The catchiest theme song I've ever heard. I also find it impressive how much they improved the effects over time. Even though everything is still clearly made using handmade miniatures and minimal CGI, it's still very impressive, especially in the later seasons. It shows that you don't need a massive budget to make a good show, you just need skills and acting talent.

They actually reused parts of that puppet to make the Season 1 Cambot.

Whoever thought to add those “LA LA LA” bits from the 2nd season on was a genius!

What I liked about this show was how it had the premise of people making fun of crappy movies, yet, had a progressing storyline

The 3rd and last Joel one was always my favorite, probably because that was when I first saw this show. I always thought Joel was the better host with his sleepy-eyed delivery. His episodes were pound-for-pound the funniest IMO, though some Mike episodes were definite classics.

7:45 literally every Sunday morning on Sci-Fi back in the late 90s! My favourite show on the weekends as a kid...

The only way I could ever enjoy those really old movies as a kid.

i find it interesting that cambot has had a ton of work done on him/it yet it's the one character we never actually see in the show, only in the intro. it was also cool seeing how they improved from the first intro to what they had when they stopped making the show. you can stretch a few dollars a long ways if you try.

The bone shape may be a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey and Satellite of Love is the name of a Lou Reed song.

+colleen I doubt it. I can't find these lyrics anywhere online, and it would seem pointless for anyone working on the show to leak it just like this. Plus the lyrics and syllable are a bit off if it's going by the exact original beat. It's still really nice though ricarleite!

Started as a local idea and now is the grandpa of the audio-commentary.

Until recently, I never thought there was a host BEFORE Mike. I think both Joel and Mike are great. One day, I hope to make fun of bad movies too. Given how there are some around in Netflix, I already have some films in mind (especially the works of Roger Corman).

Watch RiffTrax, they do the same thing as MST3K, but uses modern movies and have most of the same cast as the show. RiffTrax is only live screenings, but you may find some on the internet

Uhh, well some of the Rifftrax choices are newer, but thankfully there's still plenty of the old and older weak sauce movies that made for such epic riffing : ) It's hard to see the point of hearing them riff the original Star Wars trilogy, any Indiana Jones movie (ok save for part 4, actually enjoyed overall part 5). I'm still not gonna watch any Transformers garbage heap, even with them in tow. I couldn't watch the Twilight movies either (someone once got that confused with the original b&w Twilight Zone when I was talking about that, hilarious total 180). But yeah glad they've riffed crap like The Room, Birdemic and the first Sharknado (ugh, then the makers thought we really wanted more of them). There has been some newer stuff that's worth hearing them riff. I'm sure there is and will always be more crap worthy of riffing : ) 🎉🎉

​@@Triff3599, yep Mike is epic! (Of course I also like Kevin, Bill and Trace and well they didn't have any real duds until they brought it back on Netflix. Jonah was alright, but the other two riffers were off for me. And you can't have one guy trying to carry such a show with two others who are basically off key with their timing and delivery. But that's ok, we've got plenty of riffing options these days : )

These are all so catchy. I like the last one the most because it's the only one where they sing the words satellite of love.

Yep, it's melody goes a little different than the Lou Reed song of the same name. I like some of his stuff, ha, but did he ever wax a song as good as the MSTK theme? Some would think that I'm joking (it's really apples and oranges musically) and partly I am--And yet I've never had any where near as much fun with his music (ok save for imitating back his vocals for the original Velvet Underground ''Sweet Jane'') as I do with the MSTK theme : ) 🎉🎉

The official lyrics say get and down, and you can definitely (at least from my hearing) hear the "g" sound, as well as the "D" and "n".

Okay so the first step was taking a budget and Gypsy just looked creepy in the second intro they all seemed similar to how we see them today Tom Servo was a gumball machine and Crow was still horrifying but Gypsy looked less creepy and cam bot looks like have Gypsy used to look

The third intro from the beginning is the best one.

In the original KTMA intro, Joel looked so much like Billy Mumy I couldn't help thinking it was Billy there instead Joel. Loved Mike but love Joel better.

I liked the one from the Nineties best, with the "la la la".

My nostalgia just imploded by watching all of these. Thanks for the upload dude.

Look at "Angry Video Game Nerd:The Movie" It uses a lot op practical effects.

One thing that does surprise me I'll admit is why Best Brains decided to update the intro on season 10 rather than 9, since that's when they move into Castle Forrester.

Yeah Rifftrax blows the Netflix MSTK out of the water numerous times over. I couldn't get into it. They seemed to have a good selection of movies they riffed, but I tried sampling several of them before giving up. I grew too restless/annoyed with the bad, weak chemistry riffing. They didn't have very good line delivery in general. It makes me wonder if Patton Oswalt was the new Joel/Mike how good it could've been. Jonah was decent, but those other two were just bad. But like I've said elsewhere at least nowadays we've got tons of options for bad movies getting riffed to pieces : ) 🎉🎉

Now there's a new one to add to the list!

As of today, this is no longer _all_ intros. Why? COS WE'VE GOT MOVIE SIGN AGAIN NOW!

I love how it escalates from Cheesy special effects to actual legitimate SFX with the different seasons

My favorite of these is either the third Joel one, or the first Mike one.
