I will give you 2 thumbs up! I am replacing the outside vent due to cracking from the Kansas heat on our last trip. I removed the outside cover and noticed the inside flapper opening only slightly when the fan was running. I pulled up your video immediately. This inside flap seems like a duplication since there is an outside flap that can be secured in the wind.

I have heard of this lever, but I've never seen it. Our hood is built into our microwave, so I don't think we have that lever. Now, I guess I'll have to check. Good video @Delta Bravo!

Some microwaves with built in hoods vent the air right back in to the RV.

They are very difficult to remove. Rocking them side to side seems to help.

That isn't a button, it's the pivot pin for the flapper. There one on the other side too.

I just found out a few days ago. just got a truck camper, had to replace the outer flapper and saw something holding the inner flapper down, ask the old owner if he knew, and he said "that's why it didn't exhaust very well" so yeah, not many know.

I wish our RV had this! Instead, it just "vents" out toward the ceiling... not very effective!
