After a day trip to the Owens Valley, here in California, my dad and I came home to soak some rocks and get them all cleaned up. But to my surprise, when I came out one morning to check on the finds, I was greeted by these beautiful crystal formations.
Not too sure how they formed. But if you are a big time geology person, I would love to know what your analysis is. What I can tell you is, I used ir0n 0ut for soaking and there was a little tiny bit of dish soap in there . And I don’t remember if I put baking soda in there at any point. But also something to note is, these chunks were super altered with metals and minerals and the crystals from the same pocket were mainly milky and completely coated in chlorite and rust. So maybe some sort of reaction?!
