    Lightly edited transcript with timestamps: Do each exercise 10 times, 2x/day 0:34 Breathing exercise - Breathe in through the nose and hold for 10 seconds, breathe out through your mouth, hold for 10 seconds. Repeat 10 times 0:45 Nasal Breathing - Close your lips. Press your index finger on your right nostril. Breathe in through your left nostril. Press your index finger on your left nostril. Breathe out through your right nostril. Repeat 5 times per nostril 1:05 Tongue on the Spot and Swallow - Rest your tongue on the roof of your mouth where your upper inside gums and teeth meet "the spot." Bite down so that your back teeth are together, lips closed. The back of your tongue should lightly contact the roof of your mouth. Hold your tongue on the spot for 30 seconds. Swallow without letting your tongue come off the spot 1:33 Tongue Pop - Place the tip of your tongue on the "spot," the rest of your tongue against your palate and create a suction cave. Then make your tongue pop. On release hold for one second between pops. Repeat 10 times. 1:50 Tongue Push-Up - Place the tip of your tongue against the front portion of your spot. Hold for 5 seconds. Then while your tongue is on the roof of your mouth, open and close your lower jaw. Repeat at least 10 times. 2:06 Tongue Pull Aerobics - Tongue pull aerobics consists of four parts. Pull your tongue up to touch your nose, hold for 10 seconds. Push your tongue down to touch your chin, hold for 10 seconds Push your tongue to the right hold for 10 seconds Push your tongue to the left, hold for 10 seconds Repeat 10 times 2:27 Town Taco - Fold your tongue like a taco and try to protrude it as far forward as possible. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat 10 times 2:38 Tongue against spoon - Hold a spoon [in front of your mouth and push your tongue against the spoon]. Make sure to keep the tip of your tongue as straight as possible. Hold for 10 seconds 2:50 Spoon hold - Hold the end of a spoon out with only your lips, not your teeth. Hold for 10 seconds. As you become more advanced you can add a small object like a sugar cube to increase difficulty. 3:03 Button Hold - Tie a button to a string at least 10 centimeters long. Put the button inside your mouth between your lips and your teeth. cClose your lips as tightly as you can and then pull on the string. Don't allow the button to be pulled out. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat 10 times 3:26 Puff - Puff air into your right cheek and hold for five seconds. Then push the bubble to your left cheek and hold for five seconds. Then push the bubble down onto your lower lip. Hold it there for five seconds. Push the air to your upper lip. Hold for five seconds. Repeat ten times. 3:47 Monkey - Put your tongue over your front teeth and under your upper lip. Hold it there for ten seconds. Now hold your tongue against your lower lip and hold for ten seconds. Repeat ten times. Your tongue should be resting on the roof of your mouth or your upper inside gums and teeth meet. Do the entire set twice a day - once in the morning once in the afternoon.

    I really love KZread. I mean, you can learn so much on here, and for FREE! I've been poor all my life, so I can relate to those of you in the comments who are also joyous about this video being brought to us by the lovely owner of this channel. I will do this every day, twice a day, and come back in a few months or when and if I notice progress. I have TMD, a deep bite, poor tongue posture, a very tight tongue tie, all sorts of issues that I can't resolve by seeing a fancy doctor so I really am forever grateful to be able to take these things into my own hands with the help of the professionals who choose (ever so selflessly) their information and therapies with us here on the internet. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR AUDREY YOON !!!

    A very serious cardiac dysfunction brought on by limbic impairment when a mix of obstructive sleep apnea and central nervous system sleep apnea kicked in upon lying flat at night has been 90% improved since doing just a segment of these exercises. Just wanted to thank you for posting this. I used to wake to tachycardia of 200bpm most nights for the past near two years and this has completely changed my quality of sleep and virtually completely reversed the tachycardia at night!

In the meantime I got othr things going on that calls for a speech therapist..ive been before ..didn't solve anything imo...so I was just putting it off cause I knew they were gona say the same thing "sssss" exercises..lol but as I did my own research about teeth shifting thy mentioned tongue thrust...& it described me & also lead to the treatment of OMT! & I'm no dr but I know my body best & I feel this is wht I'm looking for! Finally! Why has no dentist ever mentioned this?? Not even the ortho! But of course they are not gona tell you cause it keeps you coming back to them smh..I'm ready to switch dentist after reading up on it! .

    Serious question, since the tongue is a muscle, if we theoratically found a way to introduce weights/resistance to the exercises just like weight lifting, wouldn't it substantially speed up strengthening of tongue?

  • @Ghost572

    @Ghost572

    Yeah I don't see why the body would treat it any different. Its just another muscle and if its worked and protiens tear then why wouldn't it get stronger. You could measure it your self if you did some excerise and it got easier to do or you could do more reps over time. + you would feel the tongue feeling sour the next day.

    Thanks for the great video. I have some questions to clarify, though: * Breathing Exercises: 10 x (10 seconds in, 10 seconds out, in between/breathing time): 200+ seconds = 3.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Nasal Breathing: "5 times per nostril" means 5 times breathe in left nostril + 5 times breathe out right nostril, OR 5 times breathe in left + breathe out right PLUS the opposite which is 5 times breathe in right + breathe out left? * Tongue on the Spot and Swallow: Holding tongue on spot for 30 seconds BEFORE starting swallow (and if so, how long swallowing after that 30 second hold), or hold tongue on spot for 30 seconds of swallowing? * Tongue Pop: "Hold for 1 second between pops" means holding tongue where for that one second (on roof of mouth or in post-pop non-touching position)? * Tongue Pull Aerobics: 10 x (4 x 10 seconds in each position, in between time) = 400+ seconds = 6.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Tongue Taco: 10 x 10 seconds = 100 seconds = 1.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Tongue Against Spoon: "Hold tongue between lips, not between teeth", yet video shows neither of those; it shows tongue against spoon. Please explain. Also, since the video shows tongue touching spoon, yet says nothing about that, I wonder, should tongue and spoon be pressing against each other, or just touching. Please explain. * Button Hold: 10 x 10 seconds = 100 seconds = 1.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Puff: 10 x (4 x 5 seconds for each position) = 200+ seconds = 3.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Monkey: 10 x (2 x 10 seconds for each position) 200+ seconds = 3.5+ minutes. Is that right? * Total time: I didn't time all the exercises, but just with the ones I did time, I come up with 20+ minutes. Is that right that these exercises will take 20+ minutes (probably more like 30 minutes with all the exercises), and that is to be done twice/day (to total some 45-60 minutes per day)? THANKS!

    I will start doing these daily from now on. I feel my tongue and lips very weak, causing me many problems in daily life. Just one thing I'd like to ask - will these also help my gummy smile? My upper lip moves WAY too easily and I can't control it while laughing, no matter how hard I try. When I try really hard to control it, it hurts all day after. I would be really grateful for an answer, thanks in advance!

    Very interesting. I liked to hear that all exercises have their origin in the Indian pranayama. And pranayama has been practiced for some thousands of years in India. Here is my experience. My proper breathing exercises gave me a constant clear nose, now for about 40 years and excellent health. Hm, very bad for health insurance. I just missed health insurance. Hm, still worse for the hospitals. Most of them are soon to be closed for ever. Cause no patients as pranayama will be taught in every kindergarten and school. What has not been mentioned is that this exercise may make you cause to ponder about the question why we are born. So finally you may realize that unimaginable happiness is possible. Hm, very bad for the churches as you possibly will be discovering more acute that the revered priests may need to get education from you.

    Actually, yes. When your tongue rests on the roof of your mouth with your lips sealed, your maxilla (which is a bone related to your upper jaw) grows forward furthermore your cheekbones will look more prominent and your midface will shorten resulting in a good looking face. It doesn't happen overnight though, you need to build a habit of good body/tongue posture and learn how to swallow food properly.
