I love Ezra's casting. Also, he is a different actor than the one who played live-action Aladdin. I always thought that since the Nightsisters use the Dark Side for their magick, they knew she would use the Force. So, they were able to pinpoint where she was. I think it was meant to be them honing in on her use of the Force. The Dark Side does it a lot. That's also how a lot of the Inquisitors found Jedi in hiding. They were fine until they used the Force.

I have no problems with the dialogue of adult Sabine and Ezra being too "Disney" or "kiddish" -- I'm nearly 60 years old, and whenever my old high school buddies and I get together online to play games on Steam, we revert right back to the dynamic and speech patterns we had in high school. So it totally makes sense to me that they would talk to each other like they did 10 years ago (in universe).

Anakin jokes around as a 19-24 year old as well, we saw that in episode 5 when Ahsoka got mad at him for joking during a war. Sabine left Ahsoka for dead, gave the bad guys what they needed to go to Peridea, allowed Thrawn to return to the main galaxy starting a whole new war. Plus they have (had) no way to go back unless Thrawn agrees to take them. It's supposed to be awkward cause Sabine feels guilty.

Sabine chose Ezra over her master, whom she still harbors unresolved issues. As Baylan unearthed, Sabine blamed Ahsoka's past abandonment for the lost of family, such that Sabine's own resolve to not leave Ezra behind, stems from acting in total contrast to Ahsoka's modus operandi. Hence, a complicated relationship. Ahsoka the white nows sees Sabine's pov of choosing life rather than fear the unknown risks of the future. Hope they mend fences after this reunion. These reactors seem to have reservations with the actress who plays Sabine. Sure, she isn't the strongest actor with questionable deliveries. Her lines written for her aren't great either, granted one can argue Shin's actor has done a lot more with limited dialogue. That said, i root for Sabine and the actress who plays her.

In the Legends novels, Force users can learn to detect other Force users. This is probably what the Witches were doing. The fact that Ahsoka was actively using the Force to find Sabine helped pinpoint where she was. The novels also developed a technique where a Force user can actively suppress their Force presence, making them invisible to others. This technique I think is what Palpatine used to hide from the Jedi for so long.

Thrawn actually knew Anakin after meeting him on a mission during the Clone Wars. Years later during the days of the Empire, Thrawn and Vader returned to the very same planet on a different mission and Thrawn essentially trolled Vader by hinting numerous times that he knew Vader and Anakin were the same person. If you ever want good reading material, the trilogy containing Thrawn, Thrawn: Alliances, and Thrawn Treason is fantastic

Absolutely my favorite part of acting was from Lars in this episode. it was so subtle while trying to keep his demeanor when he read that Anakin was Ahsoka's master. Remember he's been gone. He had figured out that Vader was Anakin but has no knowledge of anything else that's happened. He most likely quickly thought 3 things. 1. Is it possible that Vader turned back? 2. Is there another starship, because if there is, Anakin is a level of shenanigans basically he might not be able to prepare for. And 3. Even if it's just Ahsoka, being taught by Anakin means she has Anakins teachings and strategy if it can be called that. With 1 revelation Thrawn quickly went from "We got em," to "We need to get the fuck out of here asap and we need to start wasting their time to do so."

Ezra and Sabine's "awkwardness" is spot on, in my opinion. The actors are playing it that way on purpose. The old holo-message she had from him (in which he *seemed* to "friend-zone" her) was him trying not to burden her with the fact that he still had feelings for her. Besides, he couldn't really friend-zone her when she was the one who already friend-zoned him first. (Her smirk while watching that message indicates to us that she knows perfectly well that he doesn't really mean "sister-to-me.") Now, he's been away for 9 years and has had a lot of time to put that possibility behind him; but Sabine has obviously developed feelings for him. Period. (No rocket science needed.)

Even though you may have your opinions on the casting and personalities of Ezra and Sabine, but I love that these actors are staying true to the characters from the animated shows and they nailed their mannerisms. Ezra has his sense of humour and Sabine makes sarcastic remarks at what Ezra does.

I think Ezra was played pretty well, he’s just a prime example of bringing an animated character to live action, the lines don’t always land cause they seem more animated for lack of better terms, I think it’s gotten better with every scene he’s been in

Mena Massoud played Aladdin in the live action version with Will Smith. That's a completely different actor. Ezra is played by Eman Esfandi.

Weirdly enough, I don't feel like Ezra feels "kidish". To me he actually felt more mature than he was in Rebels. He seems like he's more at peace with both himself, and his past. Rebels Ezra always felt like he had some angst because of his parents and his relationship with Kanan especially early on. Now he feels like he's resolved that, and is beginning his journey into exploring deeper connections to the force.

Exactly. He makes 1 joke and now he's an immature character who got no development? Doesn't make sense.

He kinda reminded me of one of the cali guys in their mid-20s that live at the beach and havent been around the real world enough. (Which is quite true in his case) Maybe arrested development coupled with not aging up a characters personality and poor dialogue for sabine leaves us with something only real rebels fans will see past.

I really like how Thrawn is afraid of Anakin. He studied him in Clone Wars and knows how utterly unpredictable, crazy yet successful his battle plans where in the War with the Separatists. I'm not sure if he knows that he became Darth Vader, some people in the comments say he does. 12:57 Dawson sounds very much like Eckstein in that moment.

Fun Fact: Mena Massoud (who played live-action Aladdin) was rumored to be casted as Ezra. Eman Esfandi is doing great so far, but I would have loved to have seen Massoud.

I see what you meant about Shin hesitating over Ahsoka's offer, but I actually read that interaction completely the opposite way-that she hesitated because she so desperately wanted to win the fight right then, but ultimately fled because she heeded Baylan's advice about impatience for victory.

"Ezra with his 'Wouldn't you take us as Prisioners? Prisioners?' was little ugh" Ezra made ONE joke that actually saved them some time for Ahsoka to arrive and Help and he hasn't mature? Bro, he is like 29 not 70 he can still be fun, plus he has mature, Eman shows that well on how Ezra kept insisting Sabine for answers giving her a "Gurl Pls what you hiding ;)" look when she didn't say anything, he also is very in control and chill and has grown with his connection to the force fighting with no Lightsaber and still showing his compasión and connection to living creatures on how he had helped the little hermit Crab people.

I feel like Shin is gonna try to get back on the Ship and Thrawn is gonna be like, "Did you kill Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine? No? Then...Nope!" And when she realizes she's going to be stranded, shes going to lose... her... shit. And go total Dark Side. And she'll be outnumbered, so either the dead troopers or the Night Sisters will try to kill her. She'll get away, but she'll be a Dark Side mess.

The fact that Shin and Baylon are the most intriguing characters despite having little to work with in the story is all down to the performances of Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno - their chemistry together and ability to look like the most interesting thing on screen is hard to ignore

I think people misinterpret what exactly happened to ahsoka when Anakin came to her. Yes she came out of it with a new positive outlook. She has had that before. When she got back into the fight with the rebels. What did Anakin tell her. "I'm here to finish your training". She said she was too old. He said she was never too old to learn. She thought she was too old to become a jedi now. But what anakin did was finish her jedi training. This was her trials completed. Her finial jedi trial was to understand her legacy isn't to fall like he did. She is now a jedi knight in full
