My why has changed a bunch over the years. It used to be really simple - "family." But I've finally started to take action this year and my why is to be fit (physically, mentally, emotionally), feel safe (financially / emotionally), and stop 'having' to do anything (which typically just leads to endless stress (which is hurting my health)). I wanted a family, marriage, kids, but it really isn't happening at this time so I am now dedicating my efforts to FI to hopefully reach a point where I'd have the option to "stay home" and be flexible with any work schedule (ex: freelancing, contract work, etc) regardless of where life takes me. 🙏 Thank you!

You are inspiring me to begin my own channel and not rely on only one stream of income or one employer. These are great tips. I just need to remain consistent once I start! I’ve already started blogging, which is a start. I am looking forward to the freedom and being able to use my time in a more fulfilling way for myself and others.

I've been slowly working on finances. My husband and I will be debt free (except the house) by the spring. Thank you for the inspiration! It's very helpful when you are on this journey!

My why is to enjoy my life while I’m young enough to enjoy it. After paying off my house last year, it makes it hard to get up and go to work everyday. I’m looking forward to an early retirement and enjoy raising my last two children. I was active duty military and had a job that required travel so I was gone a lot with my first two. I’m looking forward to FI.

In 2020 I had quit my job to travel the world. I worked hard to save for it. Obviously the trip never happened (due to what’s going on) and instead I spent 6 months at home. It was a test for whether I really wanted FI. I was on a low budget but every day I taught myself a new skill, did learn tons of helpful DIY, read books, walked my dog, baked. I loved every second. I never got bored. I know now that I’ll always keep myself busy and am confident when I retire early I’ll be happy.

I absolutely love this video!! Very inspiring and motivating! 😃😊👍 Some of your reasons are also the same as mine! I want to be able to have fun on my own terms and also not worry so much about the stresses in life. Financial Independence gives you freedom. It gives you more time. 😊 Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! Always fun and great video as always! 😎 Have a fantastic weekend !!

Most of your why's are similar to mine... And it helps knowing that it's not only me who thinks being able to read a book somewhere else eg near a beach is more fun than just reading at home. ☺️

I turn 36 tomorrow and teach Spanish. I'm taking the next 5 years to ALMOST reach FI and move to Mexico. I'll mostly be able to live off of my savings, and eventually, my pension. I'll just teaching English privately in Mexico...on MY OWN time. I'll also house hack and rent out of the extra bedrooms. I just REALLY love Mexico and want to use my Spanish, not just teach it. As you know, teaching has such a strict schedule, not even being able to use the restroom when you need to. I just need more flexibility.

As they say...When the 'Why' is clear, 'How' becomes easy 😊 Loved the content u r able to create around FI / FIRE 👍👍👍 I share most of ur videos on my FB page and on a forum on Personal Finance on FB in India which has close to 85000 members 😀 That's my small bit to spread positivity and awareness around FI My purpose of reaching FI is very very similar to yours.... I don't make sacrifices! If you increase your income to a high level, you can do both. I agree with a lot of you say, but glad to know #1 doesn't apply to us. My wife is a government employee, and if you know the government (DoD) system - you're not losing your job as long as you have a pulse and show up for work. 🤣🤣🤣
