I love the honesty, your problems don't go away but you have time to work on yourself. I'm not there, but that makes sense. Thank you both!

Sometimes in all these sharing, there is 1 statement or wisdom that just hits the right spot. And i am always shifting my FIRE goal later cause the salary is great and the job is not too hard. But i cant fully answer that its making me happier. The sharing that “when you have enough, earning more wont make you happier” hit me to break my way of thinking. Need to define the enough point and stick to it, not shifting to a further point to be “more” enough. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for sharing! Good point about enough. It's also helpful to me to decide both the financial enough - how much money - but also the types of activities that make me happy. Often, those cost me little or no money and the only missing ingredient is time and flexibility (which full time work takes away)

I'm new to Mr. Money Mustache. I'd never heard of him before I started reading JL Collins "Simple Path to Wealth". I'm a 58 yr. old single lady, who has lived frugally all of my life. I never went to college. I've worked blue collar jobs since age 16 and I never had a financial mentor. I'm in the 10-12% tax bracket so most financial advisors never return my calls. I'm trying to learn about investments on my own, but it's confusing at times and very scary.

Hi Car, you don't need a financial adviser or investment manager. Execute what JL recommends in his book. Don't be in debt and then invest in index fund of broad market. If you still feel you need to discuss, feel free to contact me via a private message. Semper FI, Luis

Anything for newcomers who just stumbled across this concept? I'm 17, want to get a headstart on life. I dont want to be stuck working for someone else for the rest of my life. As a cashier right now, it really takes a toll on my mental health. I hate the thought of only having 3 days to myself, and the anxiety of running out of time to find peace only for it to be stripped from me again. I have big dreams, but no knowledge on how to get there

Hey Dorienna, good for you thinking about this at 17 years old. It won't be easy, but if you make some deliberate choices with your money and life now you can slowly gain more and more of the freedom it sounds like you're wanting. Mr. Money Mustache has a ton of good education on his site about how to do it, and I hope you'll continue following my channel too. Happy to help.
