    @@shamenahenderson1105 for the most part, finance is algebra and basic calculus. If you can wrap your brain around the different financial models you’ll probably be fine. However, make sure you enjoy numbers because the major is still math and number heavy. (I’m a finance major with minor in economics and business administration)

    @@Viipxz It's so interesting to me that it's far more common for Americans to get multiple majors, perhaps this is because they feel they need to make the most out of the OUTRAGEOUS fees they pay for university, in Europe college ranges from €0-€4,000 a semester, bachelor's are usually 3 years, master are usually 2-4 years depending on the degree. I'm interested in how you found your degrees, I'm interested because I'm trying to decide what I want to do, any help would be appreciated. Kind regards.

  • @Viipxz

    @Viipxz

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Anonymoose66G I’m not sure if the degree system works different in Europe, but for us the major and minor are different. For example, majoring in finance means you have a degree in finance, but adding the economics minor gives a little extra understanding of that topic. I decided to just major in Finance and minor in economics because we’re required to do 2-piece sequence which is picking up 2 additional classes related to your major. In terms of an economics minor, I only had to pick up an extra 2 classes beyond my graduation requirement to get the minor. Some people are the exception, but the most people usually do is a double major, but those people oftentimes drop one of the majors or are excited by studying. As for choosing a major, I’ve just known what I wanted to do since high school - work in the finance industry. This made it very easy to choose finance as a major. If you have an industry-specific idea of what you want to do, align your major with that industry. If you have something you’re passionate about, figure out if that can lead to a career path, and major in something that will help you enter that career path. If you want to do something, like journalism, where you don’t really need a degree - or you don’t know what you want to do at all - I’d honestly suggest you save yourself time and money and wait before going to college. An alternative to waiting is doing something like business administration where it can be applicable to any industry and be guaranteed some sort of job

    it’s in order for you to gain your associates degree, it’s required across all colleges and universities. it’s just meant to help develop your skills further, but many people can go to a 2 year college to earn those classes and then transfer up to a university for the rest of their degree

Then the scholars from the scholarship can go to a local university to complete their bachelor's degree free of cost. Do you think transferring from a 2-year college to a 4-year university is worth it? Should I just get my acceptance over with from the 4-year university instead of trying to transfer from school to school? I hope my question made sense lol

    @@ashleyha132 That's a wonderful program! I went to a special high school meant for first-generation students or low-income families and we earned our first two years through a partnering community college while we got our high school diploma. I was thankful for the opportunity because I was in the inaugural class and am able to say I got my associate's degree at 17, before my high school diploma at 18. For your question, it just depends on what you want to obtain for your degree and if you want to save as much money as possible. Most likely, your best route would be going to a community college and gaining your first two years and then transferring into a four-year university to finish. Just talk with an advisor and make sure all of your credit will transfer, which they should.

Also took college algebra, history classes, english, already passed my TSI's, etc....(basics classes). I plan to transfer to UTSA to get a bachelors degree in business with a major a finance. My counselor told me that when a graduate from SWTJC and get my associates degree for business, I can transfer to UTSA and get my bachelors and a major in finance with only 2 years in UTSA, because I already did 2 years here in SWTJC. Since most of your college years was a waste of time, you should have attended the University of Texas at Arlington (where I attended and my older sister and brother) or the University of Texas at Austin where my three younger sisters attended. These schools don't waste your time. The College of Business at UT Arlington was not a cakewalk.

    Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me (Jesus). - John 14:6 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9 Then Peter said to them, "Repent (turn away from sins), and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:38 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; - 1 Peter 2:9 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I wll declare to them, 'l never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" - Matthew 7:21-23 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect în weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 If you want to accept Jesus as Your Lord and Savior, say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You, Jesus, died for my sins, are Lord, and God rose You from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. Jesus, I want to trust, accept, and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus's name, amen.
