I’m actually really thankful you posted this because my school doesn’t have a drumline and me being a senior I wanted to do something that made me feel important so I’m starting a drumline completely from scratch. So thank you for posting this because this is giving me some good ideas on what to write for audition.

I'm a singing praise drummer at our church and our Pastor's son is in the Marines and finished in the top 3 of his class and is now an IT expert with a Top Secret (sorry, not the drum corp) clearance protecting our US networks in Israel...hoorah! BTW I never got chance to play quads in HS (single tenor with mallets in '74, snare with prismatic Pro-Mark 3S's from 1975-77 and only basic 26 NARD, ironically after my 1977 graduation they went "full corp" style in '78) but your solos were killer!!!

Very interesting. Often wondered what was involved. We had a guy from our platoon going to band (orchestra?) for (as I recall, been 54 yrs) trombone but I do recall his name, Bavona, 6'2 or 3+" about 230 lbs, big SOB. Our senior about had heart failure. He was the only one out of the series to make it. He said he was shocked to get the call because he bonked several things, brutal tryout.

well I think it was just the microphone used in the room on the camera that they had, because your first deep house of every grouping sounds like it was buzzed but you weren't playing at buzz I zoomed in and it was just as clean as the other hits, so so I'm guessing it was a distortion of their input of their audio that they used or the microphone type the head on the camera?

I think my favorite rudiment is probably Flam ddrags. Does that count as a rudiment?

Is “The Commandants own” is it the only band in the Marine Corps and I don’t know about the Marina Corps ranking system but can you still join the military band if you go to officer training. Also do you perform in Tennessee anywhere anytime soon. If so I would love to see a military band perform because I’m looking into that career but in the Air Force.
