Interesting! I've never really thought about reading We Need to Talk About Kevin, but I've seen a few people list it amongst their favourite Women's Prize books ever. Also this made me want to read Piranesi again!

I reread Piranesi last year and loved it. We Need To Talk About Kevin is very disturbing, not sure if I would ever reread it but I did think it was excellent.

Great idea for a video. The reverse timeline of Nightwatch was fantastic. I found the whole book very immersive.

I was absolutely floored by We Need to Talk about Kevin. The morally grey unlikable characters and the tension of nature vs nuture was amazing. It has now been done by several books but as it was my first, I hold it high regard. Also love Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. The Night Watch is the next Waters book I'm reading as I'm saving Affinity for last (hoping to love it as much as you do.) Are you planning to read all/most of the longlist when it comes out?

It really depends on what I can get hold of from the library and which ones I'm interested in. I'm unlikely to read the whole long list but it'd be nice to read the shortlist if I can get my hands on the books 😊

I've read 6 of yours all great books. From those I think Fingersmith would make my list. Burial Rites and No one is talking about this narrowly might miss out on mine. Piranesi and Life after Life are high up on my backlist TBR. I really enjoy this sort of best of list content. Thanks for sharing.

@@jenniferlovesbooks I couldn’t join in on Booker as I’d not read enough for a Longlist of books I liked but I’m excited for this one although quite a few will be from the last two years! You’d definitely get a few right I think!

Love this!! And you will be pleased to hear that I disagree on a few of these. Elenor Oliphant and GWO were both meh for me 😂 and we already know my thoughts on Piranesi 😳 Hard agree on Detransition Baby though, I’m still a bit salty about it not winning.

Such a great video!! Thank you. Fingersmith and Piranesi are two of my all time favourites, I was also SO pleased Piranesi won ❤️ Fingersmith is just so so so so good. If there is one book I could read again for the first time then that would be it. Such an amazing and clever novel. I loved Girl, Woman, Other, Sorrow and Bliss and I'm A Fan too. I also have Life after Life, but yet to read it! I'm now really excited. Thank you for so many great sounding recommendations, very keen to read more of these. I really didn't get on with No One Is Talking About This 🙈 I really enjoyed Small Island, Hamnet, The Hundred Secret Senses, Build Your House Around My Body and One Sky Day, from previous short/long lists or winners. Maybe I'll try to make my own list one day 📚🤓💕

I would love to hear what would make your list! I hope you enjoy Life After Life ❤️ I often think that if there was one book I could read for the first time again it would absolutely be Fingersmith! Have you seen The Handmaiden, a Korean film that is based on Fingersmith. It's excellent.
