    @@aprilgosa5779 I have to disagree. For a teenager to be racking up airline miles and passport entries traveling between her two fathers Toward the met a someone and followed her to Europe. end of the series. Greg Evigan's character I suspect a reboot would need a different base as one of the characters or the judge, could order DNA tests to determine paternity.

    There are 5 versions of the My Two Dads intros. The first version was used with different opening credits, and a different theme song were used in the first episode - the 1985 hit "You're a Friend of Mine" by Clarence Clemens and Jackson Browne. The second version was used in the second episode, similar to A-ha's "Take on Me", complete with a theme song sung by Greg Evigan, called "You Can Count on Me". The third version featuring narration from Staci Keanan was used for the third episode, and would be used for the rest of season 1. Half of the song's lyrics were cut, too. The fourth version, a new opening sequence, featuring a new version of "You Can Count on Me" (still sung by Greg Evigan, and with the missing lyrics restored, but with the narration taken out), was used for season 2. The fifth version was used, along with a new version of "You Can Count to Me", featuring a brassy new lead debuted in season 3.

    @Emily HAHAH. my dad was JUST like Jack Arnold. He's nicer now, but back in the 90's he was all grumpy all the time and he looked just like the Dad from wonder years. When the show was on, we were like "that's you dad!" He looked and acted just like him. He would be silent most of the time until something pissed him off to the point where he would say something in a grumpy angry tone. He still looks just like him to this day. He hates it when we tell him that because he thinks that the actor who plays Jack Arnold is way older than him. My dad is only 5 years younger so it's pretty close.

    Facetache The Premise is they both loved her mother and dated her mom then her mom dies and they end up getting her at age 16 and the courts do not know who the Bio Dad is so they both raise her they did wind up doing a DNA test but by the end of the show Joe and Michael did not care who her Biological father was they both loved her and they wanted to raise her they became best friends instead of enemies as they were in the beginning but yes it would have been a great and funny show the other way too but not sure networks would have done that back then and some audiences also would have been oversensitive about it I too thought the 80s was progressive I guess it depended on who you were though someone said the DNA came back negative for both I do not recall that I recall it not being revealed because they did not care

  • @shannon3944

    @shannon3944

    Facetache...were the 80's perfect? Nope. BUT... We were the generation that grew up with Mr. Roger's and the original Sesame Street, and Schoolhouse Rock. We were taught that it was OK to ask questions (because THEIR parents didn't talk to them), to use reason and logic to figure things out for ourselves ('they were taught to be seen and not heard'), and BE OURSELVES (because girls wanted to wear Jean's and the guys to have long hair). Personal ideas and creativity were also encouraged. Our neighbors all knew each other and we'd sit on the front porch in the eves and waved at passersby, and run to meet 'the new kids across the street' because it was a pretty rare thing when folks moved. We could ride our bikes all day until the streetlights came on, and the worst thing a parent could ever say to most kids was "I'm disappointed in you." As older teens we had Archie Bunker and Mr. George Jefferson. Racist and bigoted? Absolutely. (My parents absolutely hated that I watched, because it was about 'the stuff they taught us was wrong'...but I KNEW I needed to SEE and HEAR those things in 'real-life' context. I explained to mom, it's just tv...I never knew people like that. If they were, they hid it well...but quite unlikely because I was perceptive.) Bunker (Jefferson, too once in awhile) got taught lessons and was shown to be the fool he was, everytime. Also, 'All In The Family' was probably one of, if not THE most progressive shows ever because it brought so many social/economic issues right to the forefront of our attentions...race, lgbtq/mixed race, education, relationship dynamics, poverty and depression, rape, miscarriage, religion, women's rights...I could go on and on... Almost everything there was to watch had a moral thread/lesson running thru it. Sometimes right out there, sometimes subtle. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad...and we understood the difference. I never knew until I was an adult that Mr. Roger's was a minister and imho, a truly profound Christian (or what my definition of one would be⚘). I don't remember even one time him mentioning 'God' in his 'Neighborhood'. He never needed to...he taught AND showed us for 30 minutes everyday that love, kindness, understanding, and empathy were the correct paths to take with each other. And then 'Reagan' happened. 'Trickle-Down', 'Group punishment', 'participation prizes', 'safe-spaces'. All beget entitlement. None are progressive. More like a national 'grooming' program, imho. Because there was a clear and sharp 'shift' in almost everything we knew. I don't know how else to explain it. Apologies for the length. ⚘

    There were two different episodes which dealt with who was her father. In the pilot episode, the judge says the father is "indeterminate". So they had to either agree to both take her, or she would have been sent to the children's home. In Season 3 (Pop, The Question), they have (another) argument and decide to find out once and for all. The judge has the mail with the results (but she doesn't open it), gives it to Nicole (who never wanted to do this in the first place), who tears the mail up unopened.

    When I was a kid, I thought, what a neat thing to have 2 dads. Now that I'm older and having just watched the intro after 20 years, I realized something...... Nicole's (Staci Keenan's character) mom was a big ole freak! I guess this was pre-Maury days. Matter of fact, THEY prolly aint even her daddy, it was really Dick Butkis HAHAHAHA!

    If the show had gone on, it would've revealed that neither of them is the father and introduce a 3rd dad and the title of the show would've been changed to 'My Mom, The Whore' while introducing a 2nd child to the mix.
