I wish there was a way to play offline, whether your internet has gone down, or just to have your own singleplayer experience; similar to how Disney Dreamlight Valley works.

@@365ral I agree! It would also benefit switch players since they might not have access to internet while on the go.

If outfits were say $10 for one outfit with the 3 color options, I would buy all of them that fit my characters story (im playing like rpg). I can justify away random purchases of $10 as pick me upd and supporting a game I love

I know there's at least 1 outfit bundle that's under that price, but of course it's not one I wanted. 🙈😅 I think $10 would be more than reasonable too though!

Actually, they are. I have an outfit (Cadet) that cost me all of $8.50 and I can change to three different color schemes. You don't have to buy a whole bundle if you just want one of the choices.

@@HeadHunterSix I think that if they're able to price some outfits this way it would just be really nice to see the most popular ones be the same price. I don't really think it's right to have the costumes at different prices.. like trying to get more money out of a costume that's "cuter" feels... wrong to me. If they price them all reasonably then they would sell more imo!

The cost of outfits is absolutely too high, but my biggest complaint is the impracticality of most of the flooring options and a number of the patterned or printed wallpapers. They need to be scaled down in size.

No, I can't justify $17 for the Rogue outfit, but since the game is free to play and doesn't "require" in-game purchases, the customization costs seem reasonable to me. Agreed on the walls and floors!

I am struggling big time with getting all the money needed to do everything. I grind, I fish and hunt and chop trees and rocks but it never seems to be enough

It can be a bit of a grind to make money especially if you're wanting to buy a lot of items to build/decorate with. I make most of my money through selling seeds, mining for the starstones, and since I'm not really looking for a specific fish right now I've been selling all my glow/normal worms and honestly most of my fertilizer too. Have you tried joining in on a cake party?

Agreed! I wish we could sell our furniture! Since we have to use hard-earned resources and will never use all the pieces we make to level up, it just makes sense that we could sell it!

@@FaithBelinsia I agree, especially because sometimes I just craft extra of decor I've already made before to earn my weekly medals. 😅

I've only been playing a week, and so far, I like it well enough. But the clothing prices are ABSURD. Usually in free-to-play games I absolutely support the makers by buying an item I like every once in a while, but the prices in Palia are ridiculous.

I'm really hoping they realize that people would be more inclined to support them financially if it felt more affordable. 🙈 Although I read not long ago on their Discord that they just did mass layoffs so.. that makes me doubt they'll be lowering prices anytime soon, but it might actually help them if they did.

The biggest downside to this game lately is people going into groves and solo-cutting most of the trees. Not caring to wait for others. This is a MUCH bigger problem on EU servers than US servers because on EU servers people have to deal with multiple languages.

I'm on EU servers too and thankfully haven't noticed there being an issue in my own game where people pre-chop groves, but I've seen others saying the same. (Not specifically EU servers, but in general). Trying to find a balance with game etiquette is difficult because it's sort of an unspoken rule... not everyone knows about it and even those who do and choose to play solo aren't "wrong" for playing solo, ya know? But yeah, it does make it feels less community based and feel disappointing to lose out on that flow.

I mostly agree on the likes and dislikes although I like Hodari fine. I generally am not into romances in games so i may not bother with that. I do find the flow wood and the palium a pain to find, especially since you need so much. I sincerely wish more people were on the servers. I also seem to be having a very difficult time getting some of the rarer fish and bugs. I mostly love the game although at the moment i am stuck on the Hodari quest where you have to get Proudhorned Surnuk Antlers. Otherwise its a nice relaxing game.

@@StaciGames I was having trouble catching it. I tried on and off for a few weeks and was frustrated about it. Last night after i saw your video and posted this I tried again and one person in the zone helped and i finally got it. Seeing these videos on how to catch it helped a lot. 🙂

My biggest peeve as of late has got to be the flow grove impatience and im on Na servers, so rarely is it a language barrier, and more a play style issue. As a solo player, i find it mean spirited, especially when i hear rumors thats some players are doing it on purpose while others are simply ignorant newbies. I try to get there as fast as possible now so i dont risk missing out and or just ignore it as its become a bother, and thats not "cozy".

I agree. If I don't feel like I can get to the groves as one of the first people then I usually just skip it and remind myself that the reason I play is so that I can relax and have that cozy vibe. I do really like chopping trees down with others, but I really hope to see some kind of balance so that everyone can enjoy without feeling left out or like others are being mean spirited towards them. Maybe an influx of the small flow trees? 🤔 Even if they don't give as much flow wood..

As a person who prefers to play solo, I appreciate everything I can do on my own! I can (and have) spent hours just working on my own things, but where I hit a snag is when things like cooking are required steps for story quests. I HATE the cooking mechanic with a PASSION! It's WAY too complicated and I feel should be optional for people who actually enjoy it and want to level up that skill. I will never move beyond the Reth quest where you cook the three dishes for the "order" representative to come to the village. I am losing out on story progression and an NPC because I simply cannot cook these elaborate things within the time limit. Simplify the recipes, remove/reduce the time limit, make the dishes available for purchase (pricey as heck, sure!), or simply don't make them requirements for main story quests. Money is also too difficult to come by, compounded by the limited farming plots you can get (farming being the most lucrative activity for me). I'm new to this type of sim where relationships are so specific and I hate having to interact with the rude/inappropriate NPC'S, like, I don't need that kind of negativity in my life, lol. I honestly feel that more than 25 per server would make it impossible to collect resources and I personally don't like a crowd, but I can understand that other players want that MMO goodness! I like the visual style (including the outfits), the music, some of the NPC'S, and am obsessed with my housing plot! I'm grateful for a lot of the recent updates and they make me hopeful for future additions to the game!

I can understand that! Fishing has never been something I enjoy doing very much.. it's very tedious.. so I feel similarly about it as you do to cooking. I'm always dragging behind on that part of the temple bundles and quests. 🙈 Also makes it harder for you if you find it difficult to cook, but also don't have another player who can help.. 🫤 And that's true, you need those recipes made to unlock Subira.. Oh and more farming plots is a big one on my wishlist too! But yeah, farming takes time. Having to wait for 6 a.m. in game plus then waiting if you're turning crops back into seeds or pickling the crops takes more time. It's a little slower of a grind than something like mining or hunting. However it does really pay off if you go for the seeds or pickled crops versus the crops themselves. Weirdly enough some people like the mean characters! 😅 But I'm like you and don't like the negative energy either. If they do end up adding more than 25 people per server they'll definitely end up adding faster respawn drop rates and more spawn locations for bugs, ores, etc. They've already had to do it a few times now since I've been playing to accommodate the game growing. if server size is 25, that feels like it's already failed the first 'M' of 'MMO'.

I've only started playing, and I'm already tempted to stop b/c of all the wait times. A game is supposed to make you want to keep playing, not backhandedly entice you and then make you want to stop playing for +8 real-time hours.

@@StaciGames I meant the 8 hours with building a house and rooms, but I guess at the time, that was a bit more reactionary. The game does provide enough tasks to at least give you more to do.

@@365ral Ah okay! I completely understand what you mean, especially if you're in a building/decorating mood. There's definitely a lot to do outside of that, but it would be nice if there was a way we could use the in game currency to speed up the build time up or something!

Personally, I would hate to see Palia start making everything about group content. I'm so tired of games that force group play and it's one of the main reasons I love Palia. There's no cost to playing solo, no content you can't do unless you group up. I don't want to play with others. It's my escape where I can just do my own thing and still have the same things everyone else has. I know we have to for flow, but it takes a few seconds, that's not an issue. But if group content started to leave solo players behind, I would probably leave the game.

I wouldn't play if it didn't have the option for solo play either, but I do hope to see more options available for group related things like when people have come together to do cake parties. You can makes cakes by yourself of course, but many more in a short period when you work with others at less cost individually and make more money. It's just an added perk to work with others at that point. Same with hunting proudhorn sernuk. It's fun to work with others when you want to, but definitely shouldn't be required.

I also prefer to play solo and therefore would like to have things like cooking optional (not required for quests etc). I can appreciate the allure of running quests with a group of friends, but I also wish I could turn off the live chat feature sometimes, lol.

@@FaithBelinsia If you deselect the different categories on the chat (server/party/etc) then the chats stop coming through. The box still pops up to tell you that you've switched servers and also like it's blocking chats, but if you're uninterested in seeing people talk that's an option!

@StaciGames I tried that when I first started playing. Unfortunately, the categories reactivate themselves after a few minutes ( maybe when one moves to a new server/area). I found a similar dilemma when trying to use "streamer mode" to turn the chat off. It's the same for friend requests too! You can "remove" them and then they pop right back up after awhile. I haven't tried any of this for months so maybe it works better now, but early on it didn't really help :)

So I can't be an elf on the game?😢

The storyline is based around you being human in a place where humans were thought to be a myth/extinct, so unfortunately not.

idk, i played it for a few hours and it just felt a bit empty... kinda boring overall, ig its unfair to say bc its still in beta right? but yea its lacking something

The game is quite rich on conversations and lores for most NPCs allthough a couple of them only have a couple of lines that they repeat evry chat we have with them and the fact all of them have sime kund of personality issue feels that none it´s a ctually "romancaeble" and the system to unlock special irems forces the player to romance all of them at same time. Sure it´s limited to flirting and just a game but the morals in my brain still feel wrong specially when flirting with the gender I´m not into. The game is missing lots of content. Lots of furniture, various species of fish and bugs to catch but it´s about it. Hunting gets boring as we have only 3 types of animals with some variations and increased dfficulty but it´s allways the same and they behave weirdly and even vanish through walls and stuff. In the end there´s so much that could and should be done specially those bugs getting us stuck on conversations with NPCs or even while cooking and many other things that could change and be added but would make a big list of ideas. I just wish they bring the Market back, maybe at the weekends, each 15 days or every month. Did not played Palia when the mrket was around but NPCs want Poke bowl wich I don´t have. To finish, I agree, S6 is practicing exorbitant pricings on clothes but worse than that is the options to buy Palia Coins that fall short or go over what we need. To agravate they don´t set prices by regions, for instance 30€ or similar exchange in UK and most of Europe´s countries is and acceptable amount but by country´s economy it´s a lot, just to give an idea, from a salay of 600€ when 350€ goes for house rent about 100-150€ for utilities like power, water, gas and TV, what´s left gotta do for expenses like groceries, clothing and other needs, who can afford it? I´d like to support the game developement of course but the options are forcefully implemented and with low return. Hopefully they revisit and adjust the Premium Store...

I feel almost ashamed to not have purchased anything from the Premium Store yet honestly. Everytime I go on it I think "I'll buy something for real this time" and then I don't because I can't justify the pricing. I need to feel like I could have multiple outfits for the price of one at this point. And costumes I actually like btw because I know there are ones that are cheaper, but not the cute ones let's be real. 🙈 I feel guilty because I want to help financially support the company, but yeah.. I have to make sure it feel justified for myself, and not just let guilt or peer pressure make me spend the money. I'm sorry you missed out on the Maji Market before! If they stick to the tradition they started last year then the next one probably won't be until late August again sadly. Although the one in August didn't have the hotpot game, only the Lunar New Year one did. That is kind of weird they didn't find a way to implement the poke bowl recipe post market.. 🤔 I would definitely hope they will bring it back in the next one for your sake and for new players too, but if not.. you should write a support ticket about it! I'm wondering if they'll end up having more than 2 markets a year.. I would think so, but I'd guess some of the lore is still being written so maybe they're trying to find more times to add it in? After hunting SO many sernuk recently for the plushies, I've become very uninterested in Muujin and Chapaas honestly lol. I don't even want to hunt those anymore. And once I've finished getting the plushies I know I'll need a break from hunting sernuk too. 😅 So some more huntable creatures are definitely welcome/needed! Agreed! And romanceable characters.. I do want more options, but I'm also aware that maybe I'm just uninterested in the current options because I'm happy in my real life relationship. 😂 At least we don't HAVE to romance anyone if we don't want to! Yeah we'll lose out on special items, but personally that's one thing I don't mind. Morals are more important! Games like the old Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life made you choose a partner at a certain time in game and that felt weird to me when I played the remake! There are definitely plenty of bugs/things to iron out in Palia overall, but I hope you're still enjoying it in the meantime! 😊

Shame it runs so badly on Switch.

One thing I dislike is how LAZY they have become or overworked. They legit have GREEN mapping stuff you would see in game development stage, found on the beach. It lines the beach side in Bahari and it really shows how either lazy or overworked this company is when they don't hide things like that. Another one is PETS, their walkstyle is stiff. They look in four directions: left, right, front, back. There is no natural feel of the pets.

I'm guessing you mean the green cylinders that were on the beach? Those were seashells that recently got bugged in the 0.177 update and have been fixed from what I can see. Have you updated your game to 0.178? The pets are pretty much just a very simple cosmetic at this point, yeah. 😅 Cute, but ..too simple. Definitely need some improvements and more options. I'm honestly surprised they haven't done more with pets since they initially released them. I think they got a lot of people to buy costumes because of them.

I would definitely report the bug to them then. 🤔 I have ZERO knowledge when it comes to programming a game, but from my understanding sometimes adding in new code (updates) messes up the old coding. So let's say they add in the Bahari Bay rummage piles.. that coding involves adding new items on the beach.. therefore sometimes other things at the beach can become messed up. How? I don't know. That's where my knowledge ends. 😂 It is in open beta still though, so it's not a complete game and bugs are still likely to sneak their way in. At least it's not something that keeps us from playing the game entirely though! 😅 *knocks on wood*

@@StaciGames Ooo another thing i dislike is the rewards for quests or treasure boxes. Do you ever feel like the rewards feel lacking?

imo there are too many. like it feels as if they're trying to turn every character into someone who's dateable. Like Hodari did not need to be dateable, i enjoy him making time for Najuma more than getting in his pants but everyone and their mother were frothing at the mouth demanding he be dateable

Your reference to Hodari gave me a laugh. 😂 He's not for me either, but I don't mind that they made him a dateable option. I think some characters don't make sense to make romanceable so I hope they don't make them all that way, but some introduction to new characters and more options that way would be nice! Are you romancing any right now or are you not interested in that aspect of the game?
