Great vids man! You ever do a video on Jorma Vik from The Bronx/ Mariachi El Bronx/Eagles of Death Metal? Great drummer. He was my wildcard pick for Foo drummer.

Before I even watch this video I just wanted to say thank you for putting it out because I've been waiting on somebody to put a video like this out before I pay four tickets when they come to Birmingham next. I don't know if it's going to feel the same of course it's not with Taylor gone. But I just wonder if the vibe will even be close to the same. With that being said now I'll watch the video but I appreciate you taking the time to put your two sense in the situation

Same it was great to see Dave laughing and smiling. The Josh intro was inspired and perfect Foos. Its all even more amazing that, I believe, Dave lost his mother shortly after Taylor. And I believe they were really close too. So yeah - great to see Dave, our Dave, smiling again 😊

Yeah man, I know how ya feel. Obviously Freese has all the technical ability and more to play these songs and to write new ones but is the feel gonna be right? And that's the most important thing.

When Robert Plant said he couldn't bare the thought of turning around and not seeing his best mate on drums I thought for sure Grohl would do the same. At least for awhile. Bouncing back in 1 year after losing your best mate on drums of 25 years (twice that of Zeppelin which was 12) seems like WAY too soon. I think it sucks and shows it's more about the need of the ego to play in front of stadiums instead of taking time off, doing some other smaller projects and then coming back (maybe) after a few years of healing. But one year? Nah. Not as cold and harsh as the Stones or the Who but not nearly as respectable as Zeppelin.

With all due respect most of us drummers/millions of us including Taylor can be replaced *real* quick. Bonham lol -- can't replace Bonham, that's a whole different level, like replacing Peart or Buddy Rich, yeah it can be done, but Bonham had the improvising gift amongst other things. Grohl and many other bands are into the occult so they have more `important things lol then to sit around because someone died. Grohl could fire everyone in that band and still go on $ & attention... Peace

@@toothnail605 Grohl is into the occult? Haven't heard that one. I hope not. Either way, the bottom line is it just seems wrong Grohl went right back to being a rock star playing to stadiums with a new guy in drums. I thought he would at least give it a rest of a few years.

@@kickstar1 I'm sure many if not all Christians would come out with a movie lol called Studio 666. Honestly it doesn't matter if it's right or wrong to keep the band going it's Grohls band so he does what he wants. Oh and imagine being a Christian and coming out with an album called "Birds of Satan." lmAO ...Taylors band. "The Show Must Go On" because they're time lol IS RUNNING OUT...

Nice to see you cover this, and great job doing so. I heard a famous producer, can't remember whom off hand, once say Freese is on a special pay scale at $4000 an hour, cause he knocks it out of the park immediately. He's truly an alien. They don't call him the human metronome for nothing. There needs to be a movie made of his life. He's a career unmatched by anyone.

Glad to see the Foo are going back out. I did get to see them once with the RHCP, also a the only time I've seen them. Said the same thing about Tom Petty too 🤦‍♂️

I saw Josh playing with The Offspring twice, he's fucking amazing live. Great energy and great performance. While I don't know much about the Foo Fighters I think Josh will be a great fit

I would love to see the Foo Fighters, especially if they had The Warning opening for them again. I'd even stand out in the rain.

Love the Foo Fighters, love Josh, but I absolutely agree with you. He should have kept it just a little bit less "showboatie". Just a little. Think he's a great choice for the Foo family, and I'm sure they will kick ass on tour.

My band had a song we usually only played live at certain shows that was just guitar and vocals. It was an acoustic ballad. It never had drums because if it had drums it would sound like NIckelback or Creed. That's not the band we were. FF to we had a deal and were in the studio. The producer liked that song and wanted it on the album with drums on it. I never played drums on it. Didn't have a drum part so I struggled to write a part on the fly and make it not sound like a shitty post grunge - proto numetal ballad. Unbeknownst to me they hired Freeze to come in and do the song. It sounded exactly like the way I was playing it and I hated it.. but the producer loved it. I almost quit the band for them not having my back. It's not his fault but I hate Josh Freeze forever because of this.

Taylor was very good but Freese is damn great imo. I hope this injects some energy and heavier sound.

Rest assured, there’s no chance that those drum solos weren’t at Grohl’s direction (as opposed to Freese irreverently showing his dick). Freese is first and foremost a punk rocker, as is 4/6 of the rest of the Foo Fighters. He’s also extremely versatile, and grew up on much of the old metal Grohll flirts with in side projects. My guess is bits of those elements will become more present in the main event, yet the overall vibe won’t be altered significantly. Freese and Hawkins are different animals and certain tunes will feel differently. Insofar as future products, it’s going to sound amazing.

IMO Dave wanted Josh to go off to show the fans that they have a killer replacement. We know who Josh is, but not everyone does. Josh and Taylor were great friends, so I don't think there was any disrespect being shown; hawks on each kick drum. Rumored to have played on over 400 albums, and played with Devo, NIN, APC, The Vandals, Sting, The Offspring, Paul Westerberg, ect. I saw Taylor on his first Foo tour in 1999 and kicked much ass. I'll be seeing Josh with them at Riot Fest in September.
