I see there are some come downs in your comment but I feel you put to much praise on this reimagination of the Doctor. There are major problems it it. I remember a phrase which says " your only as good as you best previous attempt" in this case we rate Russel T Davies based on his intro back in 2005 of the doctor with Christopher Eccleston. But this with Ncuti is a poor attempt and is Way off the mark.

Different people have different opinions; I'm stating mine, that isn't right or wrong. I think Ncuti is one of the best Doctors in my opinion. And, TBH, I alluded to it in this video; as much as I love RTD's original era, I personally think it's hugely romanticised because it brought Doctor Who back onto screens. It was great, but I certainly don't think the quality of storytelling is as good as most Whovians do, but again, that's just my opinion. I personally feel like RTD has matured his style of Doctor Who a lot with this season.

@@WoodyStrikesBackI respect your opinion, but just strongly disagree. I know you didn't ask me 😂, just feel compelled to say my bit. I was very hyped for this new RTD era, and for Ncuti, but I've found it such a huge disappointment. Every Doctor up to now has had a certain gravitas in their performance, that mixes with the wit the Doctor has and really makes them feel special. To me that is absent from Ncuti's Doctor. There hasn't been any times when the Doctor uses his intelligence to really take command of situations. And his relationship with Ruby never went that deep. There wasn't any kind of friction between them the whole series, which didn't help. The stories all felt really contrived to me, though I did like some of them. The 1st RTD era was flawed for sure, with RTD's episodes being far from the best, but the whole era felt like a coherent whole that made sense, and there was fewer stories that were tied up leaving massive plot holes or just in a very unsatisfying way. This new series just felt incoherent. With the tone bouncing all over the place episode to episode. I like episodes that differ from the norm, but I do feel there should be a normal tone established. It's a smaller thing, but in hindsight I think it would've been a far better choice to have Ncuti in a regular costume. It's not realistic of course, but I feel it's better for the show. I'm glad you liked it a lot, but I'm just so disappointed. I liked 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble quite a bit.

@@WoodyStrikesBack Cheers. I'm gonna watch it. I do want to stick with it, and I hope that maybe there'll be more different writers for next season and just is more to my taste. The downside of having it already completed is there is no changing things for season 2, even if RTD had regrets. Even if I stay disappointed I will keep watching, as my daughter really digs it, so I'll keep enjoying it with her. Cheers.

Ncuti Gatwa is great. The stories are lacklustre. I like the Moffat episode. I like 73 yards. Bubble and Dot has good parts. Rest is meh.
