With all this scary news making the headlines, is this really a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone says the market is ripe enough for buying but will stocks tank further this year? How long until a full stock recovery? How are other people in this market raking in over $250k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.

Right, I've been in constant touch with a fiinancial-analyst since covid . You know these days it's really easy to buy into trending stock`s, but the task is determining when to buy or sell . My advisor decides entry and exit commands on my portfolio, I've accrued over $600k from an initially stagnant reserve of $150K.

It's an excellent learning tool, especially if you approach it as a "trust but verify" mentality due to its current limitations. I've been a software engineer for years recently hitting languages like nodejs before the pandemic but after lots of ChatGPT Plus and testing, its had me learn things faster and more advanced languages for this upcoming era of ML & Deep Learning.

@@justfacts404 As a long time veteran of IT, If you have a understanding of the "logic" of software, then its best for you to dive in on your own. Most of the techs and DevOps people we hire DO NOT have a college degree. This is because whatever you learned in University is stale the moment you learned it. BUT, the logic of "How" you learned it is most important. AI platforms are the new beginning. There is no person on earth that can teach you about this better than you can teach yourself now. Create AI based example solutions from all parts of AI (There are Many! and you MUST be able to rattle off all of the AI underlying disciplines, and how they can - and can not - work together) , this will be your resume. Demonstrate that you understand the base logic, as the only constant will be change. Employers' want to see your understanding, we don't care about your degree.

I think Ray makes a really good point here, it's not going to be so much about what we can do but instead knowing what people want and in really detailed way. It's like, you might think you know what you want, but what do you really actually want and what does every little step in your day look like? AI may end up creating the end of intellectual trades such as coding, editing text or videos, technical support and drafting legal documents. Instead, creatively building a product that customers want will be extremely valuable or knowing an engineering problem and knowing the right tools to fix it.

Elevate thinking, yes. All of the best thinking and 'how to' intellectual tasks can ,in part of entirely, be undertaken by almost anyone. Whether you see this as machine replacing parts of man or man evolving as fast as possible with the aid of technology doesn't matter as much as the fact that it's here and therefore our world has changed forever.

I agree overall it’s a good thing. Before chatGPT, this was still true - that we all have access to an unimaginable and abundance of knowledge and can with little work find what we need. Now it’s so much easier and will continue to be second nature. The thing we must be careful about is not let it do all of the thinking and creativity - which will be a finer line to walk as we’re all expecting continued exponential growth with what we see today.

And i dont see this as a "good thing" - although i suppose with such large things you have to just say "it is what it is" to some extent. I have a strong feeling that this shrinking of the brain is right now accelerating significantly. this doesnt even include other aspects of reduced capability or performance. what about the shortening attention spans, the apparent loss of coping skills- not by everyone but by a dangerous number of young people. and what about tendency to think fast about a number of things, across numerous different ideas... but while at the same time thinking shallow, losing the skill of thinking deeply with great focus for a reasonably long period of time? what kind of insights or mental development occurs with no deep thought? what does it mean for society- for relationships - for problem solving?

  • @AriaHarmony
    @AriaHarmony Жыл бұрын

Exactly!! I'm excited for it. I love learning, I have many interests and sometimes I worry I can't keep up with them because I gotta memorize things. I'm studying say trigonometry and I gotta memorize a whole sheet of equations? I said f that and instead spent days studying the concepts and how to use them only, and when I practice I use my now-strong foundations to solve, but when the time comes to remember some formula I need to use? Well I just look it up! But now, I just ask the AI for that formula I need, even faster! At some point once I feel I practiced a lot and can pass all scenarios of a problem, I can just export the whole solving part to the AI and focus on the problems themselves, just tell the AI what I need and how I needed it to be solved. It's amazing! It's literally the scientist's personal assistant dream!! I hope it keeps improving and becomes more trustworthy regarding math and logic, until then I gotta check its work twice just in case haha. One other thing I didn't expect: the Bing search AI suggested to me how to pursue astrophysics and AI as fields of study by telling me that there's a lot of overlap between them, I didn't prompt it to do so it just happened during the conversation about those fields, I then asked it what overlaps and what doesn't and it essentially did the research that took me some time in the past to do, in 5 seconds. And it was better than mine too, because I was distracted by a million things since I was still considering my interests. The AI doesn't get distracted or bored like a human, it gives you summaries for an initial research that you might not have time or interest to do ye. It really gives me motivation to look up things further rather than tell myself "I'll do it later when I have time", why wait for later? Just ask the AI and now you have grounds to start pursuing the information further. And it's only going to get better. This is immensely useful AND fascinating! I have dreamt of something like this for years... The future is here!

Agreed. if anyone is having trouble understanding or accepting what he is saying, first of all its just his take so thats fine, but think about this- A lot of things that many ppl consider commonplace today are made possible by a lot of smaller basic "components", think of the wheel, the lightbulb, etc. all of which were at the time of their conception, bewildering and seemingly impossible, flipping the world on its head making them scrambling to adapt to the godsent revolutionary discovery that is the wheel (a circle + a rock with a hole in it btw) or lightbulb. But today give someone wittingly young OR old and teeming with wisdom- a wheel or a lightbulb, and they dont know what to do with this overly simplistic thing "on its own." "if i see so far over the horizon, it is becaue I stand on the shoulders of giants who have come before me." dont be afraid. look ahead the sight that only you can see, today, before it changes. and lift up future generations to see further

I think the unsaid point is also important. If we're no longer dependent on physical work it is important that physical work is being intentionally worked into our lives to ensure there is not a capacity decline as total society, at least on the white collar side of things.

Increasingly we become the items of the material world, what we really want to achieve by acquiring ever expanding knowledge and endless tools, and technologies? To change the world? The world is beautiful if we can just stay and live with it. To change us? Should we change from inside rather? From our thinking? Thoughts of our own?

It depends on the transparency of the AI purveyors chat context window token limits. To discover a whimsical sudden cap on your build by an (open)ai purveyor in the weeds doesn't allow for anything but slavery to making assembly line products with no real central, regulated, monitored platform to make code based vs. language prompt based, rinky-dink AI models that hope to build one useful community-sponsored model. AI hype is relegated to safe advances in visual and audio apps mainly.

And we should be allowed to Travel the world and see everything you wish and dream of. You are the Hero, you are the best and give it a little bit each day. Be thankful for everything and know more like that is on the way. Thank you for love, life, and you are amazing. Amazon because soon that money you been waiting for is coming. Pay it no mind and how it comes. It know it is coming. And when anything comes. Give it gratitude and know this is a taste of more to come. Okay thank you and love you all. Follow.

I already have enormous respect for Ray after reading one of his books, Principles. However, hearing him talk about some of these new technologies like blockchain, AI, etc.. and seeing how receptive and open he is to these emerging techs makes me gain even more respect for him. Quite an open-minded leader and extremely adaptive to the changing world, unlike Warren Buffet and a few who I also admire (still do)... but they could be quite rigid in their views when it comes to new techs.

  • @ShellyPenny

Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger acknowledge potential of new techs like blockchain, AI, Electric Vehicles, they just stay away from piling billions into it, because new technologies/startups are almost always overhyped/overpriced and risky(bubbles) when it comes down to investment. They are also not experts in the field of technology. I would not call them closed-minded for that.

It sounds optimistic but it will make us depend on our cell phone more than ever, because every decision we make we will not be able to resist asking the app about its opinion and we slowly will stop think for ourselves. Also it will not be an advantage for those who use it because everyone will use it. Imagine you go to a date and the app tells you what it thinks about the girl you are dating and what you need to tell her and she at the same time use the same app.

Presently, ChatGPT does not have access to all the original sources needed to derive an informed opinion. For ex. It does appear to me to have access to scientific litterature. The day it is able to formulate the cascade of questions to define what it must know and have access to scientific litterature in order to build on the first set of answers...to ask the next questions... is when he starts thinking (like a scentist). Until then it is more like a big encyclopecia. It is also includes a lot of preconceived ideas...a bit suspect. Not dangerous if the user is aware of the limitations.
