This is so adorable and pure. My teenage BoS is a lot like this...so many pages information and whole rituals copied down with scattered clippings from Pyramid Collection catalogs and old fantasy books. I've definitely gotten more intuition based in my practice compared to technical...but still find the youthful obsession with getting ALL THE INFORMATION EVER just precious.

Now this is in no way a bash on your teen BOS. Quite the contrary, something I really love about your old BOS is how '90s' it looks and feels. all those pictures (yes, including the Xena ones) are so dated and so funny and iconic of the time period they come from. I was born in 91 so while I was a super little kid in the 90s I still remember that sort of 90's aesthetic. Art, both fantasy and pop-culture had a distinct feel from the 90s and my 8-11 year old self LOVED Xena and Hercules and Charmed when all those were out at that time. So yah, as an adult looking at your teenage BOS from the 90s is almost nostalgic even for me to look at :) Adorable and impressive.

What an epic Book of Shadows! I wish I had made one back when I was 12-14 when I first got into Tarot and Witchcraft. But alas, I was forced to get rid of it because of my Christian family (my father's side). Thank you for sharing your memories with us.

Is it funny that I'm super inspired by this whimsical approach? So much so, I may even borrow this idea. I wish I still had my old composition notebooks from when I first started my journey. I still consider myself a baby witch though, and this is such a great alternative to constantly starting new books of shadows. I LOVE the collaging and organic note taking. I have several marble books laying around that have bits of witchy notes-they deserve a collaborative home. Thanks so much for sharing. Blessings! 🖤

This is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm 23 so not a teen, but that exploration was robbed from me as a child and teen. I love seeing all of this and hearing you almost laugh at yourself but also hearing you say that it's all exploration and growth. I think there's so much pressure on having it figured out first time that we don't allow ourselves to make mistakes. But mistakes are not really even mistakes. Thank you

I definetly think that Journals are a book of shadows for me as well, a branch off. I did a lot of my path finding through writing stories and journaling and then as I got into adulthood applied more of the principle of adding stuff into a journal around the path. I recently pulled my first book out, from two years ago [when I refound my path] and most it is full of intiation information and the first kernels of the direction I was moving in. Thank you for sharing this fantastic part of your spiritual linerage. I love the idea of the book portal. Making it accessible at all times. What a brilliant idea

The teenage practitioners first BoS, is a time of learning, who you are and shows your growth spiritually. When looking back over thime, in 20 or 30 year your path, and belief may have altered significantly, or just become more refind. The biggest mistake, is not documenting the sources, of things written by other authors, and crediting the sources of art work. There may come a time, when the sources material maybe needed.

I had fun watching you revisit your younger witch days. It made me get out my first BOS from 1997 and like you...I laughed at myself. Those old BOS's are great though, as they remind of us how far we've come as witches and the journey that has led us to where we now are. Who knows, in twenty years from now I may giggle a bit at what I am currently doing. Thanks for sharing.

You are an interesting person, very different from the more traditional witches of my friends and family here in England. I haven’t met many American witches but you are all very different people and it so amazing. You all have a different take on our religion and I respect that and I LOVE that you followed the traditional Norse/Celtic path. I fluently speak Gaelic and English and I’m so happy you made the effort to speak and write it in your spells

Molly Roberts sounds very similar and also clicks her nails a lot. She doesn't do asmr, but her videos are kind of asmr-like. Sacred seed doesn't seem to have posted anything in a year, which stinks because she's one of my faves-- although she does have a ton of back catalog for me to catch up on. Still would be super cool if she was still around. I'd love to see what she's up to now and that she's doing well.

You're so lucky to have that. I tried keeping Books of Shadows when I was younger, but my mother somehow always found them and destroyed them 😔. Even now I find it hard to keep a book (I'm working on it, and you're part of my inspiration) because I have this ingrained fear of losing it. Now my problem is do I want a big book or a small book, an artsy book or a plain book... decisions, decisions 😁

You're book is beautiful even with the stains and all. We share similar tastes, but I am a male. I did this stuff when I was younger and some of the pics I glued or taped in were the same, paintings by Boris Vallejo and his wife. It's good you still have this to look back on. I had mine stored in a place where I had to pay rent and times got hard and it was all lost. I can only wonder at what anyone might have thought as they might have looked over this particular item taped up in a cardboard box if anyone did.
