My Simple Formula to a Create B Section or Breakdown // From Pattern 1 to 2, Now What?

Музыка

Ever have trouble making the next pattern? Or getting out of the 4-bar loop? Well, this video is for you! This is my simple formula that helps me keep the vibe going and helps me stay in the creative flow while making music. It can be pretty defeating, stumbling around trying to make a new pattern or come up with new ideas. But this has helped me create new ideas and inspire me to hear things differently when making music. Of course, it's not the end all be all, but it's a stepping stone in the right direction!

Ricky would you ever consider doing a video about your philosophy for starting a new digitakt project how you fill up the sample bank? I feel like that could be a super interesting video for a lot of Digitakt users

The "irrelevant" parts you mentioned are actually super interesting to me. The fact that you keep 4 patterns per song and keep the 3/4 as a breakdown is the kind of organizational / workflow stuff that NOBODY talks about! Great video. (Also TIL you can copy/paste a page! WTF)

Learning loads here ... however @RickyTinez note there's a lot of breakup/artefacts in the visuals (nothing that impeded learning) and I can't tell if that's playback (in my region or my browser) or something that's part of the original video. (EDIT: oops I see that others have mentioned it).

Please do the compressor next! I made a track today that sounds dope (even your lingo is rubbing off on me) on my studio headphones and the little phone speaker, but when I played it on my home stereo, the kick just pushes everything away. Gutted!

I noticed there are artifacts in your video - even watching this at 1080p, this shouldn't be an issue with my 250Mbit/s connection, so you might want to look into your RENDERING SETTINGS: I got artifacts when using "Web-Low" settings in my editing software which does a single pass with 3000 Kbit/s data rate. When using 4K camera input, I now switched to "Multi Pass x264" with 15000 Kbit/s - which KZread will crunch down anyway but will result in a video pretty close to what you see on your desktop.

I loved the digitakt’s workflow way more than my octatrack’s workflow. I even think the output of the digi is cleaner and fuller sounding than the octa’s. but I just could not go back to working with mono samples only. Stereo makes such a big and positive difference in sound quality. Don’t know how you live with it but your songs sound cool

It doesn't seem to worry me much. I get more done and have more fun with the Digitakt than Ableton or other grooveboxes. I seem to have the same way of thinking as the designers, I find it really intuitive, simple and fun. But everyone's different, I can see how some might find it frustrating!

@@roninthegoat2810 Akai MPC, or a DAW and a laptop do it all. After all I've used Ableton a lot, and still use it to add tracks to the Digitakt. I had thought of the MPC as it is all-singing-and-dancing, but I chose the Digitakt as I like the simplicity/old school style of working. I don't really expect to do full tracks on it, it would be great in an ideal world, but no tool by any manufacturer is totally complete or without limitations and flaws.
