as a person who spent a few summers making and selling them with my aunts, I'm happy you placed some of the toppings at the bottom before the ice, cause a lot of the times cups would be filled with the ice and the toppings either topple over or doesn't get mixed well enough

Question, how did you keep the ice from melting? Did you sell at a traditional shop w/ access to freezers or on the go and use dry ice...? Thanks!
@sophiaerinnmape1678

@@feliciareynolds5296 for prep, ice are, usually, bought like a really large block then cut down and are either fed to this ice shredder machine (idk what they're actually called) or hand shredded by a tool as you order per cup. as for how we keep the ice from melting, that depends, there are some stalls who are just infront of their houses w/ access to their fridge or, and this is what we did, they had a big cooler where they have a ice in stock, obvs this only works for a couple of hours before we have to close
Her face when the little brother made it 😆 🤣
Your reaction to your shirt at the end was perfect 😅
• I am seriously impressed by your sister Anne-Marie’s ingenuity with adding cold-brew coffee, that would pair swimmingly well with the evaporated and/ or condensed milk. 🙌🏾👏🏾🍨✨ • Really vibing with your brother Lance’s clear sweet chocolate-caramel theme, could be a potential hit to introduce Halo-Halo more to the mainstream. 🍫🍪🍯 • I think my Filipino Parents, especially my Mom, really made me have more of an affinity towards traditionalism and remaining true to authentic recipes, so that’s why I think I’m gonna go with your sister Claudine’s Halo-Halo, you could also tell that this is not Claudine’s first time at the “Halo-Halo rodeo”, definitely looked profesh making hers haha. 😝👌🏾🇵🇭☀️🌟 • And your younger brother Aaron’s “Halo-Halo” just screams the _makulit bunso_ jokester of the family, I legit also have a brother called Aaron haha. 😂🤡👍🏾 Coming from a _beautifully_ close & tight-knit Filipino Family myself, it seriously puts a smile on my face seeing you, Doug & your siblings all together, Jeanelle! 😊💖🫂✨

Love this comment!!! I apologize for the ignorance as I am not Filipino and I don't think I've seen that topping in any of the blog recipes I've looked up. Would you mind telling me what the yellow stringy thing is? And are the white beans (I usually see red) just your regular beans?

same! i absolutely love Halo Halo, and i love how our culture is being shared with the world! i hope everyone gives it a try :)
Next time I go to the Philippines, I’ll make sure I’ll try halo-halo! When I was younger I never wanted to try it because I thought it looked weird. Now, I really want to try it and get closer to a culture I’m so far away from through food.

Just know everyone's Halo halo is going to taste different. There isn't really a set recipe and that's typically how Filipinos are. Like, if someone said a recipe is "traditional adobo" you'll probably have 80% of the country disagree. Shaved ice and condensed milk is probably the only thing that will be universally in Halo Halo, everything else is a guess lol. My personal favorite just has banana and leche flan.
I’m the same route as Aaron ngl. And add some Carmel I’m not the kind of person to add coconut 🥥 cause it’s not my favourite. But they all still look great!
LMAOOO THE REALIZATION OF UR SHIRT
Love your brother's League of Villains tshirt 🛐
the “ok get out of here” made me crack up lol
Are the beans sweet ? (where i am from beans are usually eaten in soup or chili ,(i know there is are sweet bean pastes like anko, but are those the same beans)

You’re voice over voice is really good! Sounds professional like a documentary you’d see on TV.
What were the toppings you were using? They all looked yummy!
Would love to try it & how many siblings do you have ? what a beautiful family 🥰
My mother makes our halo-halo and we help her and its so much funn I actually had it a week ago when we went to our grandmother which is in "Batangas" and they sell so much good food especially my aunt.
My friends mom made that when I went to her house once and I was in love. She used frozen jack fruit instead of ice and it added a very nice soft flavour to it
I have to say this looks amazing buy your brother Lance’s shirt is boss
I LOVVEEEEE HALO-HALO
The cold brew and the chocolate ones are really interesting and I might try them out one day, but nothing beats ube ice cream on halohalo
If you want to add a different dimension in texture, I would high recommend adding a teaspoon or two of basil seeds. The exterior becomes gelatinous but the interior is still crunchy. And it has a neutral flavor so your dessert will still taste the same!
Y’all should have a Filipino cooking showdown and the parents decide
Aaron's Halo-halo, HAHAHAHA
I was waiting for them to blend it all together
Looks yummy , Janelle I never knew you had that many siblings.
that looks so good i would absolutely love to try halo halo someday!! 😭💖
I'm in Filipino girl I love halo-halo so much everytime we go to a restaurant I order that all the time🤭🌺
There is a shop in London in China town which sells different filipino deserts and it’s absolutely amazing
I have tried halo halo and I love it! :D
De leche (I think how it’s spelled) is basically toffee I tried it
The traditional halo halo is my favorite and I always gobble it up so quickly
1:39 looks like the man snatched the girl in orange dress's halo halo😂😂
Wow that looks so good! 🥤
I LOVE halo-halo! Espesaly the coconuts jelly’s!❤️☺️
Oooh man this brings back memories of selling halo-halo one summer. There was another stall selling halo-halo next to us but theirs was more expensive. We sold ours for 5 pesos less with more generous ingredients. They had to close their stall because all their customers started coming to us. Lol
I had a halo halo last sunday and im Filipino too!
That looks so good I really want to try that 😋🤤
Aaron has the right idea
That Halo Halo with that jackfruit got me
The way she say “halo halo” hit different
In malaysia, we eat “Ice Kacang”, which is a shaved ice with beans and syrup and also fruits or vegetables
Very good! My mom would make this for me every spring and summer I highly recommend trying it
Putting the coffee in is like a coffee "float". Cool.
Jeanelle what's the white cube like food u used in this? 😊 Not sure whether it's available in my country but looks interesting to try

Indian shave ice is soooo much different! In the starting I thought it was gonna be like the one we eat in India which is called chuski/gola for some reason
My mom will always make this in the summer! Very yummy (if you havent tried it you should!) also great video!
I should try putting Sprite on mine next time. Milk, ice, Sprite then some tropical fruits. Halo Halo Punch.
Godbless💖
My grandma gives us halo-halo when she comes visit
Hey, this reminds me of a dessert we have in India made of that shaved ice, sometimes shaped into a sort of popsicle, with LOADS of flavoured syrups, topped with all sorts of candies and dryfruits! Really yummy, especially in the summer. Great to see you'll siblings having a group discussion on Halo Halo, lol
Coconut jelly cubes are so good in fruit salad
The ending was the best 😬🤗
im filipino and this would look so good!
Yes halo halo!
oh I love Halo-halo love from Philippines

Didn't ur brother just put ice cream 😂😂😂 literally smthng I would do ehehe
I wasn't ready for your halo halo 😁
Omg you have so many siblings
MY FILIPINO HEART RN AASHDGAGHGH. I am so down for halo-halo right now. I love halo-halo with lanka and ube ice cream, classic. Well i think- the usual halo-halo my mom buys from a filipino place usually has that and I love lanka alongside with ube ice cream- so yea!
i LOVE halo halo. I usually use ube ice cream but i can try other flavors
Yup, we usually eat that here in Philippines
i love coconut jelly cubes can u make them in a vid pls
I would try your brother's own 😂🍨
I LOVE HALO HALO ❤️
I'm a Filipino and I'm a fan of halo-halo omg- I would recommend you guys to eat the ube Ice cream first. its too deli.
You have a big family! I might try Halo-Halo. There's a Aloha shaved ice Hawaiian place 2 miles from where i live.
Can't call something halo-halo without leche flan on top 🤤 it's a must! A must! 😂
Where can I get good shave ice machine? Brand?
My mum is from Singapore and sometimes when I was a kid we would get Es Kacang which is really similar, crushed ice and lots of toppings like sweet beans, jellies, coconut jelly, sweet corn, condensed milk, flavoured syrup like rose or pandan, my absolute favourite topping is toddy palm fruit. It just has the best texture. I wish it were used in more things because its so goooood. I would gladly eat es kacang with just the condensed milk, syrup and a pile of palm fruits, but I like the coconut jellies and sweet beans, too. I think there's somewhere that serves it nearby, I have to track it down because I haven't had it in so long. Or maybe I'll find somewhere that sells halo halo and try something new, yet familiar.
