My Russian city downtown on May 9 (Victory day). 4K walking tour.

Welcome to my vlog about my life in Russia.
I'm not from Moscow or Saint Petersburg, I'm from Chelyabinsk. On May 9th, it was rainy in the morning, so Dima and I didn't go to watch the parade. But we went to the downtown in the evening and had a nice walk there. Join us!

I really enjoyed this video. What a beautiful city! In college I was a Russian Area Studies major, but I have never been able to visit. Your videos make me feel as if I am there, walking through the city. Thank you for that! Blessings to you and yours. ❤

I really enjoyed watching this video! I almost felt as if I had seen or experienced all the beautiful impressions myself. Finally, I also really liked the music you heard: In my experience, there are actually countless beautiful titles from Russia and music by Russian singers and artists that is unfortunately not often published or heard beyond the country's borders. In short: it is practically completely unknown in the western world, more or less (almost) exclusively English-language music is forced upon us. And by the way: a big compliment for your film-making talent and skills! The video recordings are very beautiful and, above all, very pleasant to watch: No rough shaking, no jerky panning back and forth, absolutely perfect and therefore really worth watching! Thank you very much for your efforts and for sharing this video!😊👍🤩

The more I see of Chelyabinsk the more I like the city. I watched the Victory Day Parade in Veliky Novgorod live, courtesy of Sergey Baklikov's channel. It was a very moving experience.

I feel the same way! Chelyabinsk is not one of the glamourous Russian cities, like Kazan, so I started with low expectations. But it has grown on me! It now seems like a vibrant sensible working-class city, and this is actually my ideal. That 09 May is remembered all over Russia but forgotten in the Empire of the West says a lot. Do forgive, but never forget. Never forget!

Wow! This is a side of Chelab'insk that you haven't shown us before. And I love everything about this video, from start to finish -- the quiet subdued tone, appropriate for remembrance, the soft wistful songs from that era, the beautiful fountain, the gentle water soothing the painful memories, the pedestrian tunnel, the street merchants selling memorabilia, the children carrying flags, the violinist and the teenage girl in red, the families and friends strolling freely , the well-tended flower beds as we approach the eternal flame, the flowers and the star of rose petals surrounding the flame, the children coming up and placing flowers at the memorial. Thank you! I try to imagine the sacrifice of the people of that era. I know that much of Soviet industry was moved to the Urals, brick by brick, whole factors taken apart and put back together. I know that women were working 16-hour shifts in these factories while the men were at the distant front-line, going through hell, many never to return. This horrific ordeal was due to the inability of the Europeans -- it wasn't just the Germans! -- to reject the poisonous lies they were being fed. They were brave enough to wage war and kill millions of innocent people, but they were not brave enough to think about what they were doing. Back in the 1980s, when I first learned the truth about my country, and tried to share these revelations with others, I ran into a wall. I concluded that people would rather die than ask a question or think a new thought. Fascism is a deadly political and spiritual disease. It kills the mind and kills the heart and turns people into zombies. What is the cure for this disease?

@@natyrusa I am hopeful. The world does progress: Contrast today with the medieval era, for example. In 1945, the Nazis fled to the West; now, they have nowhere left to go. It is no longer possible to shield Israel from criticism. Although the U.S. is still a huge military empire, it no longer has the support of the people. The British Empire, the hidden cause of so much war, is dead. Russia is holding and developing the moral high-ground. It is winning the spiritual war. It continues to put the good of humanity above profit. That, at least, is what it looks like from afar.
