Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZread channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Sounds amazing! Apart from a couple holes sounds like you played really well. I know it’s all about the experience and score isn’t that important, but playing awfully would spoil the day slightly, so really you made the most out of it. Really happy for you, you deserve all your success!

Thanks Rick, really enjoyed shot by shot description and the visuals. Give us a much better idea of the layout of the course that TV coverage doesn't show Well done to you and your team
If Dude Perfect was allowed to film at Augusta National for their "All Sports Golf Battle" video, I feel like Rick and the team should have been able to

To be honest, I almost didn't watch this, thinking it would be terribly boring, but the Google Earth shot illustrations made all the difference. Congrats on a great round - we all got to live vicariously through you, for a day at Augusta National!
Rick, not only do you put a great swing on the ball, but you've given us a wonderful experience through your shot by shot narrative. Thank you.
I actually love Augusta's no phone/filming policy. It wouldn't really make sense for other courses, as Augusta is the only tournament to host a major every year, but when the masters is going on, everybody is tuned into the broadcast. You aren't distracted by all the social media fan pov videos or pictures. You really don't ever get to see much of the course outside of once a year in April. And that makes the Masters so much more special and my favorite event by far.
Your an amazing narrator, either when it’s recounting your previous shots at various courses in your studio or describing a shot your just about to play. You add just enough humour and humility to make the average and below average golfer like me relate to you. Thank you and keep up the good good work.😉
Thanks for sharing your experience Rick. At the end I realized that I spent the past half hour with a smile pasted on my face listening to you recount your round...you have a remarkable ability to connect with your audience!
Your guy did an amazing job with the hole views and 'shot tracers'. I was there all four days and I got a completely different perspective from a ground view and being completely surrounded by people. It's amazing how open it is without the patrons.
Koodos to your team for assembling this awesome shot display. Your breakdown of every hole was excellent as I felt your rollercoaster of emotions.

Very cool to hear the play by play! And HUGE shoutout to the editor who helped us visualize all these shots. What an amazing opportunity, thank you for sharing it with us.
Love this. Gotta give the editor a bonus for the amount of work put in to this video, it's absolutely spectacular.

Props for this video. It’s nice to have the sort of visual aid of your shots. You didn’t have to do that for us. Long live the king!
Congrats on having a chance to play such an iconic course, I think you did fantastically for such a difficult course, thanks for the insight and content, you're a great influence to those of us who are just trying to get better at golf.
As someone who has to write, record and edit audio and video all day, 5 stars to both you and your editing team. Great run through of an exciting day. I was feeling everything as if I was playing Augusta myself. Great narration Rick and huge kudos to your editors.
This guy is very good at what he does! Rick's best video in nearly 200! In this 33 minute video he answered the question so many of us ask. What is it like to play Augusta National. His analysis was pitched perfectly between detail, thoughts and numbers. Very enjoyable. Hope to see a straight Break-75 in 2024. Or, even better, a Break-75 from tournament second shot positions, using short lay up tee shots from members tees !!
Rick, you truly have the ‘gift of the gab’ - you made that so engaging and, as everybody has said, your editing team are awesome. Who’d have thought it could be nearly as good as watching a video?!
I have been waiting for this video. INCREDIBLE!!!!
This video felt like when my dad, uncle, and I would talk about our rounds of golf on the phone with each other. I absolutely loved this video and how you and your editor did it, wonderful as always Rick!
This was fantastic. I couldn’t help but reflexively smile as you walked us through the round. You are such and encouraging and positive person to hear. Made me excited to get back into golf. I’m glad you got this incredible chance.
Awesome! absolutely buzzing listening to you talk about your round!
Loved this. Thank you Mr Shiels. Congratulations on living all our dreams.
Thank you and everyone involved in making this video! You described your experience beautifully! Safe to say, I’m jealous! 😂 I’m glad that you got to experience a real golfer’s dream! ❤️👍
I live down the road from Augusta National but sadly I wasn’t in town this year.
I love your enthusiasm about this round of golf, and your conveyed sense of awe and respect for one of the top two or three most iconic venues in the game. I got to attend the Wed. practice round there in '99 and felt the same way just being on those hallowed ground. Keep the great content coming!
Rick you are living a charmed life, that is so sweet yeah man. Been following you for a long time. All good. Can't wait to get into this video. !!
Absolutely loved listening to this recap and congratulations!
Brilliant! Well done Rick... great video!!
I’d never be able to picture these shots on any other course. God bless Augusta National, what a special place! Thanks for sharing and congrats to you Mr Shiels for getting to experience golf in its purest form.
Thanks sooooo much for letting us experience Augusta through your narration and the VERY helpful graphics!
Absolutely brilliant Rick, well done pal. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This was fantastic mate - thanks for talking us through your round. Blessings pal
Super description of your round at Augusta. I have had the pleasure of being at 2 masters and you are spot on regarding elevation and green undulation and speed. I did play a replica course in Houston where Amen corner was copied and have to say 11 was the scariest tee shot to hit and the second shot was worse. Thanks for sharing your experience and nice playing, only one 3 putt!
Amazing presentation Rick! Thank you
Great job from your crew to make such an awesome vid. Keep up the great work, THANKS!
What a thrill to play to the Sunday tee positions! Thanks for sharing and recreating your round for us.
Hi Rick! This was a terrific video--so much fun to go hole by hole with you! I recently discovered your channel and with your guidance, I'm hitting my driver straighter than ever and my irons more consistent. Really appreciate your channel--keep the awesome videos coming!!
This was great! Listened on the podcast too and this with the extra editing was fantastic! Thanks Team and thanks Mercedes!
What a special opportunity, Rick. Glad you shared it with us.
Rick I absolutely loved hearing your shot by shot round. I guessed you’d shoot 84 so you bettered what I thought. Congratulations mate, that is one on the bucket list that most will never get the chance to experience. Thanks for your great videos, please keep them going.
Awesome VLOG Rick. Really felt the passion and emotion.
Rick…..thanks for the video. I started to zip through it thinking I didn’t want to listen to someone remember and describe a shot by shot review of 18 holes with 80-some short stories. I blew through it and landed on your description of 18. It was sooooo interesting that I went back to the start and listened to the entire video. It was a really interesting detailed report and I loved every second of it. The drawings really helped me imagine each hole. Unlike many golfers who can recall every hole on a course, I cannot. So even though I have probably watched every Masters since the late 70’s, when someone talks about number 12 or number 2 or whatever, I have no idea if it was a par 3, 4 or 5 or any other details. BUT…..the second I saw a drawing I could recall the hole with crystal clear memories. BTW, I belonged to a Donal Ross country club from 1995 until 2004 and played it at least twice a week. Even after all of those years of play, if someone was telling a story about being on # something, I had to go back into my mind and imagine #1 or #10 and work my way through the course in order mentally to imagine that hole. I guess my mind doesn’t work that way. I had a hard enough time just recalling the shots on one hole to mark my scorecard….LOL…..maybe that was because there were so many shots to remember on each hole. Anyway, thanks for the video…..it was outstanding.
Thank you for all of the details. That was just what I wanted to hear.
Congratulations! My daughter lives in Augusta, I would love to just see the course! Good for you, great memories!
Love it! Thanks, Rick!
Very good share Rick! Awesome that you got to play an absolute bucket list course for all golfers. Well done!!
Brilliant graphics and attention to detail on the sound effects were really worth it - great video

What a wonderful run down of your shots/round of golf ⛳️ at an iconic place for sure, thanks Rick, you’re a joy to watch and listen to! Glad to follow as long as I have! My daughter enjoys your videos as well! Keep your head up, not many would shoot 82 around Augusta National!!
It's weird. Just spent the evening watching you, talking about a round of golf. And loved it. You're such a genuine, human and passionate story teller that it was lovely. Appreciation comment was due.

Love the time and effort for this video.
Truly enjoyed listening to your round.
Great job Rick. A thrill of a lifetime. 👍
Fantastic Rick. Really enjoyed your story, well done mate.
It was fun listening to your round at Augusta. I was lucky enough to go there in 2012. You are so right about TV not doing Augusta justice. Only o e word to explain it is spectacular.
Enjoyed the vid...first class presentation !
Really enjoyed this! Miss you doing RICK golf like this. Appreciate the play-by-plays, even the Google-earth-only graphics work here! Classic 'Rick golf' vid. Keep them coming.
You are such a good storyteller. I loved this replay!
Congratulations and thanks for letting us play it through you!
Great video, Rick! Thanks for sharing the shot-by-shot - every golfer’s dream!
This vid just makes me so thankful for my Dad, we live in South Africa and he use to be a PH. One of his clients have a house at Augusta. Due to that I have one of the flags they used during the Masters in 2006
Rick. You make me happy, you get so enthused even after a bad shot. Classy mate.
How cool. What fun! Thanks for sharing this
Fantastic video Rick.
Nice one Rick. real insight to the course.
Fab stuff Rick. So interesting!! Thanks
Great showing for the first time round and the info about the flat area around the flags. Now you have a benchmark should you have another chance to tee in up. Thanks for sharing.
Really nice commentary with excellent graphics. Made me happy that you were able to play.
Makes you appreciate how hard those Sunday pin positions are! Really enjoyed this video, thanks Rick and team
Thanks Rick - great run through mate 🙂
Your videos are awesome! Congrats on playing Augusta
Love the explainations, playing the Brabazon in July. Such an iconic course, I am so nervous...but can't wait.
Brilliant, what an iconic golf course. A real pity you couldn't film there, that said with your commentary and the help of your friend showing the shots, it really brought the round to life. Well done 👏
Loved it, thanks! 😊
Loved this!
