I took notes. That driver got you in trouble on 5 holes (twice on the quad hole), but is didn't see any instances where the extra 10-20 yeards gained a shot. You also short sided yourself from bad shots 3 times resulting in a dropped shot and underclubbed 2-3 times resulting in a dropped shot but the wind wasn't helping here. Get a driver you can hit and make some better course management choices and you'll break 75 easily. Hole 1 Bogey from short siding after thinning approach shot Hole 2 Bogey from failing to up and down after short sided Hole 3 Par save after wayward tee shot Hole 4 Par after missing 10ft birdie put Hole 5 Up and down for par Hole 6 Quad. OB drive, 3rd shot into fairway bunker (should have hit 3 wood off tee) which fell too short for realistic up and down Hole 7 Lucky birdie after 2nd should have run well through green Hole 8 Green in reg, birdie 15ft putt Hole 9 Par. Missed 10ft birdie putt Hole 10 Birdie! Green in reg. long putt Hole 11 Bogey stemming from errant drive Hole 12 Underclubbed tee shot leaving 20 yards short in bunker. Lucky GUR to up and down for par Hole 13 Par. On for 3 missed long birdie putt Hole 14 Par - should have birdied. Thinned approach shot with tail wind running through the green (landing short correct play) Hole 15 Bogey stemming from wayward drive Hole 16 Bogey. Wrong club from strong wind, chip landed short, failed up and down Hole 17 Birdie after green in reg Hole 18 Errant drive - missed birdie chance

Respect for showing hole #6. I feel like there’s a couple major KZread golf channels that take quite a bit of liberty with their lies, drops, and mishits (not naming names). I’m a bit of a Ping fan, so this may be a bit biased, but I think a couple of Ping clubs might be the answer for you. 1. The 10k max. Finch seems to love it. 2. Don’t laugh, but a Chipr might do you a world of good. You’ve got a lot of confidence with your putting off of the green, and the Chipr gives you more of a putting feel with just enough loft to get you over some rough areas. However, I know ego keeps the Chipr out of many bags, much like people choosing MBs when CBs might help them more. Regardless, I’m a terrible golfer anyways, so my opinion means nothing lol 😂 Always enjoy your videos Rick, keep up the great content!

Great video Rick, regarding the 3 wood situation. I was the same as you in struggling a little to get consistently so I trialed out the Ping Max 5 wood with a 3 woods shaft, didn't sacrifice much distance off the tee and much easier to hit off the fairway. Never looked back, love that club now.

One club I bought is a second hand Taylormade Jetspeed 3HL wood (17degree) have to say, It's a cheating stick off the fairway It goes nearly as far as my driver. (which might be because my Driver Only goes about as far as a good player can hit a 3 iron).

Come on Rick! As a pro golfer you know only too well that any MB's have to be struck out of the middle. Anything other than the middle and it aint gonna end well. Sure they look good, but you need either MC's or perhaps some hollow heads. Forgiveness is what you need, you rarely hit the middle. The 3 wood makes sense, Max. The driver makes no sense at all. Forget a Low Spin head get a Ping 10k in with a low spin shaft. It works for Pete. Your problem is you aint a scratch golfer now you are going to need help. It gives me no pleasure to say all this. Your ping was short as hell, you've never really got along with Taylormade, cobra has gone full bore into distance above all else and you sprayed that darkspeed LS left, right, and never center. Also, I love that on the hit channel you did a piece for the blueprint irons asking if blades are dead and now you have blades in you bag... golf is a funny game haha. I’ve always found it so weird that I can watch a video, see someone’s aim/line and say that it needs to be more left/right and be correct 80% of the time as a viewer. However on the course those reads turn to mud because it’s so hard to trust what you’ve read and it gets in the back of your mind and you push or pull, hit it short or long etc. I guess my point is (as someone who is NOT good at putting) is that it seems easy to read when you watch someone else do it but almost impossible trusting the read for yourself. We watch these videos and judge so much and the way they sometimes go probably make us feel a lot better about ourselves, but; we should all realise that this game is so difficult and watching and judging with no pressure is so much easier than even hitting a 5 footer with your friend, and, I love that it’s the same for everyone. Great video, thank you.

I shot a 54 for 9 holes then left the woods at home and shot a 41 and 44 respectively in the next two 9 hole games using 6 iron (my longest iron) currently in the bag. Typically straight, straight, lob/pitch onto the green and one or two puts. I now think I should put 4/5 and maybe a driving iron into the bag for those days when the woods just don't cooperate. Build an arsenal of clubs rather than just your traditional setup.
