Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZread channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I love how you are playing as just a regular patron, with other people on the course, and average weather, and you show all your less than perfect shots. That crazy drive on 18 was icing on the cake! Rick, I am glad you finally decided to let us know your Partner's score. I always thought that was the missing part of these episodes. I think having it on the left top corner and yours on the right top would be splendid. Yes, they arent the main character in the episodes, but they are part of it and playing the beautiful game alongside. The game is always a competition whether for fun or money. As a viewer I would love to also see your partner's 18 holes journey, not necessarily the shots (you show the right amount) but the score.

Very cool. I was fortunate enough to play The Old Course in 2006. I shot 92, which for me was a rewarding score. My best memory from that day comes on the 18th hole as well. I hit a nice drive just short of the crosswalk, then hit a 9-iron to 4 feet. The folks gathered behind the stone bridge applauded me as I walked up to the green. I felt like a rock star. Then, when I missed the birdie putt and the crowd moaned, I felt like a roadie. :) The town, the people, and the course are indeed very special.

Now this beast just stands over the ball and waits for the owner. BTW, I wonder if he is breaking some rules using such a caddy (as caddies are alowed to help searching for balls).

Love the series, that eagle was insane. I know it's about you trying to break 75, but it was nice to see more shots and hear the score of your partner more often in this one. I'm always interested in how they're doing too, whoever it may be. Would just say, I think the overlay didn't look that great. The hole info didn't properly look like it was of the same scheme as the player-shot info, which also looked too 'blocky'. Might try design and post one on twitter based on your logo colour scheme. But anyway, great vid.

Thanks for sharing this amazing experience, Rick. Even the early stroll to the course, past the Dunvegan (an experience on it’s own!), down the street to The Old Course, was amazing! Brings back amazing memories of The 150th! To play first off on a morning like you had (lucky buggar getting the weather you ordered delivered!), taking in The Course in all it’s glory, that is definitely on My Bucket List!

This was awesome, the quality of the video, the course, the humble nature by Rick and guy. Also Rick deserved a lucky bounce on 18 after the last couple of break 75 attempts.

Easily THE BEST Break 75 video ever! The best venue (Old course with the stands), along with the most epic ending -- an eagle for even par at the historic 18th green and it being the first eagle for Rick in the series. What an episode!

@RickShiels best content creator on KZread at the moment. Honestly the quality of your videos is amazing, and you’re such an awesome person to watch. Kept teasing us with all those birdie opportunities on the first 9 and made us all love golf for what it is the second 9. Amazing, lucky eagle on the 18th at St. Andrews. You will remember that forever. And having it on video is even better.

Well done Callum and keep up the good work yourself, it's little milestones that you set yourself that will improve your game.. My local driving range (MGA, Melbourne Golf Academy) has a big sign as you walk in saying "Are you practicing your mistakes?".... I came to the realisation I was (always played against a Slice).. So watched a few videos, Rick helped immensely and started to notice a vast improvement... Now, I hit a slight Draw (and can Fade a little)... But have dropped from 100+ to low 80s.. Now I realise Golf is 90% mental and 10% mental....

I just came back from my first ever trip to Scotland a few days ago. Was lucky enough to stop in St. Andrews near the end of the trip. Such a surreal experience walking through town and around the course, especially with the setup for the Open. Something I won't ever forget. Unfortunately, the only put I hit there was on the rooftop bar of 18 overlooking the course with a drink in my hand. Great job on the round, Rick! Im just afraid you might have used up your luck for the year with that bounce on 18. But what a fantastic time to get some luck.

Well done! That eagle on the 18th is what to love about golf isn't it? You never know where the ball will end up, sometimes a perfect tee shot trickles into the smallest of bunkers and sometimes just sometimes it bounces of the hotel sign and end up a couple feet from the hole. I also wanna say that i really like Guy, what a humble person! I would love to see you play more with him in the future! Keep up the good work

I got into golf around the time of the 150th open, this video is one of my favourites online, think I've watched it at least 20 times. One day hope to get a round at the old course, hopefully in the near future. Rick's videos are what got me into golf, now down to an 8 handicap!

There is no way that ball naturally bounced and rolled to there on 18. I mean, there is a slight chance....and it may have happened. But my guess is that someone grabbed it and tossed it on to the green. Surprised Rick didn't as to see if someone helped him out

I have watched literally hundreds of videos on and about golf. Many of them RS videos. This is my all time favorite video. Not because RS broke 75 but because it shows what a great game golf truly is and how its so exhilarating one day and such a bit^% the next. The beauty of The Old Course really shines in this video and just confirms the fact I am playing this bucket list course. Thanks Rick and team for a great video.
