Don’t ever polish it, it’s character marks!

The great thing about flutted bezels is that unlike the plain bezels, it hides the eventual nicks and dings of a well-used and well- loved beauty of a chronometer. I only buy new watches. I want all of the scratches to be mine as I go through life. It's only a watch. By the way too, the Sub can get just as "damaged"

Pro tip: daily a sports diver, and reserve the dressy datejust for special occasions. Rationale: damaging sports divers just adds character, whereas, it's better to keep dress pieces in pristine condition for those special occasions and outings (e.g. graduations, dinners, etc).

I dinged mine in the first week but I don’t mind so much now, each mark makes it my watch. Watches are made to be worn.

You could wear an arm band over it when cycling. I think the two watches make a great combination. Would like to see a vdo about life in Toronto (I think that’s where you are!)

Rolex uses a special white gold alloy, so they’d need to use something that would match that

Nothing was wrong with it, I just sold it to get a mint green one. I do regret selling it though..

Gold is very soft and repairable

You could get it re-cut I think if it bothers you. By the way the Datejust models fit your wrist so well I must say.

Sorry about the watch. It’s tough to spend the money and see it get dinged up but that’s how it goes when you wear it. It either gets used as a tool, or put away.. but what’s the point in just putting something away in a box?

That’s exactly why I got the Smooth bezel on jubilee because I chipped a previous gold Rolex and it couldn’t be repaired.

I had the same issue you can get it fixed by Rolex, please document how Rolex fixes it etc

Unfortunately the downside of soft precious metals, that's why I love my Omega GM they went to the trouble of using Tunsten Carbide for the fluted bezel, not in pervious but still extremely damage resistant.

Rolex can polish any for their bezels and make them look new (or they can replace them at a reduced cost)....I once had a platinum yacht master with a severely damaged bezel from a fall (I tripped off a curb at the airport and fell in a way that my watch was smashed on the curb). Rolex was able to repair and refinish the platinum bezel correctly. Even the sales people were impressed. BTW, if you are the bothered by such a small nick you should NEVER but another watch with precious metal again...stick to steel....and even that gets nicked over time.

@@SS-zz3tk All current Datejust models have fluted-bezels that are gold (white, yellow, or rose). Non-fluted bezels come in steel, yellow gold, or rose gold.
