Id honestly just love an OP36 with a green, tiffany, red or yellow dial. Don’t need another one other than that as its a do it all. But im 24 and thats way too expensive for me at the moment sadly. Maybe one day i can afford one

With omega It's not the quantity of different watches it's the ranges are illogical , Rolex has a few models , then a couple of sizes , couple of metals and a load of dial colours . Omega has 127 chronographs spread over all ranges Speedmaster, seamaster , aqua terra , de ville , etc

I think our watch choices are quite aligned… mine is… 40mm Explorer I, GMT II Rootbeer Rolesor, 41mm No-Date Sub, 41mm DateJust with jubilee/fluted and black dial with batons and the updated AirKing. If feel like if you’re getting a call once a week for a Rolex model, there’s one of two things happening. Either you’ve spent an astronomical amount with the AD and they know money is no object for you, or you’re giving kickbacks for flipping. Just a guess!

My ideal Rolex collection : 1019 Milgauss, Yellow dial Oyster Perpetual, previous gen Smurf Submariner and rosegold green dial fluted bezel 40 mm DatDate. Would probably keep my BlackBay 58 gilt dial for that vintage vibe and my Formex Essence when under the radar wrist gear is required.

What about the Day Date in White Gold? I don't know what dial, but that would be cool on the Presidential bracelet.

My favorite of the selection is the blue fluted motif DJ. I have that exact configuration in the 36 and it's pure class. My dad has the batman. And my mom has the 31 size of the TT YG Dj with champagne dial that you removed.

Love the Explorer & GMT M2. Motif DJ looks a bit too blocky imho so I’d go with just the normal blue dial on fluted. Id probably ditch the YM & swap instead for a pop of colour- maybe an OP41 colour dial or a Zblue Milgauss (I know you’d have to go preowned now, sadly) Would be a class 7 piece collection that along side your Speedy, PO & JLC!!! 👍🏻

Great choices and an entertaining video! Looking at the final lineup, even though i love the gmt, I would probably switch it for a polar explorer ii. Or maybe switch the omega smp for the white version w reddish bezel. But that could be because I’m hunting a watch with a white dial at the moment.

I'm a fan of Rolex and Omega so this would be a tough choice. For a diver I'd go for the Submariner no date (I love the symmetry of the tool watch Sub), I'm also a fan of the Omega SMP300M white dial so this is a close call. For a GADA I'd probably go for the Explorer but in 36mm guise, I tried one on a while back and was surprised how well it looked. For a dress watch I'd go for the Reverso Duoface small seconds, this also covers the GMT function. An easy one for me for the chronograph and that would be the Speedy but probably the older 1863 sapphire sandwich version, I just prefer it as a package over the new one. I'd also add the Omega Globemaster pie pan dial in blue on the leather strap for a watch with a date complication and jump hour when travelling. Of course depending on the season, month, date and even my mood at the time all of this could change.

I would choose Tudor ( 3 pieces) and Rolex (1 piece i.e. Explorer 2)as my main powerhouse and Omega seamaster diver 300 watch as one piece of the remaining working horse watch. I would prefer Tudor pelagos over Rolex sub and GMT. Rolex and Tudor are always my most favorite especially Tudor pelagos.

Personally there are far more Rolex's I would actually buy compared to Omegas, but people like different designs. I matched 3 of your seven. Love the dial choice on the Datjust, but having a bigger wrist I think that would be a blue dial Skydweller because of the complications. The Yachtmaster would be a Sub (no date), the Speedy would be a Panda Daytona, and the JLC would be a non moon phase JLC model.

Just got the Explorer 40mm. Still not sure about it

For me a no date submariner, a titanium Yachtmaster, a rose gold yachtmaster, batgirl gmt and I'd be done, I really don't care for anything else in the catalogue since the milgauss was discontinued.

Sub no date, Explorer 40, Datejust fluted bezel ( blue ) and a Speedy and I’d be well and truly happy 😁 As it stands i own an Explorer 40 a BB58 and an Omega 300, 1957 LE 😂

I’ve tried to play the Rolex game for a few years now. Built up spend history etc but have got nowhere. Maybe where I went wrong is I built up the history with Goldsmiths and if I’d done it through an independent or smaller chain, I’d have got somewhere.

You need to build up a spend history with just one salesperson in one branch. They will get commission on their sales and become much more interested in looking after you. I use Mappin and Webb which like Goldsmiths is one of the Watches of Switzerland group. I always deal with the same salesperson. If I’m interested in a watch from a brand not stocked by M&W then I get my salesperson to get it from the WOS group. In this way I’ve built up a good relationship with just one person. Believe me it pays off. Expecting my 3rd Rolex, in 2 years, soon.

Independent is the best option imo. Has worked well for me with family-run businesses. With Goldsmiths I never got a phone call in 2 years… by that time I’d luckily purchased 4 new watches from two family-run AD’s. The search continues. 👍🇬🇧

Always a laugh, a bit like speccing seat stitching on Veyrons... just me? I think Rolex can cover all watch bases better than most (though nothing very elegant). But if you're not careful it can be a very predictable collection (Sub Date, two-tone DJ, Pepsi GMT, Daytona... snore!). I think the thing to do is challenge yourself to break up the sizes, delete a date and where you have a lot of choice (eg DJ), include some unusual dial choices (like Matrix or Wimbledon) - Rolex do these well and they look much better in person than you might imagine. Or (as you ended up doing), including some more interesting, better watches (Speedy, JLC). But very hard to beat a DJ, Explorer (36!!!) or Sub. Or GMT (if you like that sort of thing!).

Love your channel but you overcooked the beans on this one.

I hate Cyclops ( ruins the balance imo and not needed anyway as I have eyes ) and im not keen on subs or daytonas in general, but I do like explorers , air kings and platinum day dates ( even though it has a Cyclops) but as I'd never be able to afford the last one it's a moot point anyway
