ULTIMATE 2 WATCH ROLEX COLLECTION!!
Ойын-сауық
If you only had two watches the rest of your life and they were Rolex what models would they be? Here is my two cents of what I think would be the best choice all around. Sure having 5-10 watches would be amazing but if you only had two, what would be the best options.
Thank you for watching!

I started out with a Submariner 23 years ago and then got the Datejust 41, 5 years ago. But, my Grail watch was the GMT Master ii and finally was able to get it just a month ago. I feel my collection is complete now. Even three watches is a lot to wear in rotation.

I have non Rolex att all, would you give me one?
Everyday watch: Explorer - Rugged, understated, easy to wear, goes with everything. Statement piece: Day Date - Very dressy, very classy, a true watch icon. I would only wear it for monumental events (when someone gives birth, at a wedding, reunion) My current 2 watch collection: Explorer 36 mm + Everose Yacht Master 37 mm on the Oysterflex
Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them.

Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields

Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $485k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently

Agreed. I had virtually every type of Rolex. Sold them all and consolidated to a stainless sub date and a DD40 yellow gold.

How do you feel about that collection? Is it working out for you? I’ve got a no date sub 41 and am on the cusp of pulling the trigger on a YG dd40 white dial.

I recently downsized my collection to a No Date Submariner and a Steel Sky Dweller on Jubilee. It really covers everything for me, and between the two watches, I only set the date once a year.

@@jeffreyf4074 that’s a good set up! I’ve always fantasized about the sky dweller. Unfortunately the sky dweller won’t work on my smallish 6.5” wrist.
The two best options for me would be a GMT Batman & DD Rose/Olive.

100%!
Great video! This is very similar to how I started my collection, GMT II Batman Oyster (sporty), Datejust 36 mm blue dial jubilee (dressy) and recently acquired a Patek Philippe Nautilus
You’re right on the money Eric. I went with the Datejust 41 as my first Rolex. I found my self not wearing it enough because it was too dressy for my life style. I then got the Sub i have to agree it’s the perfect combo for me.
I agree, Eric. Choose one from the Classic line and the second from the Professional line. Takes care of any situation. My first two Rolexes were a Datejust and a Sub.
100% agree with everything you’ve said. In fact, I have a two watch collection which is a DJ41 mint green and steel sub date. Funnily enough, I’m looking to upgrade my DJ for rose gold olive DD as my dress watch. Literally felt like you were talking taking the thoughts out of my head and made a KZread video about it.
Such a perfect choice! I’m in South FL, so a Bluesy is my choice for a daily. It just fits here. The second watch will definitely be a black dial all gold DD
Two tone bluesy: more interesting than the black/steel submariner that everybody has (or has a replica of), same price as the all steel model but it includes gold and a beautiful sunburst blue dial which go so well together when you want that flash of color. Datejust 41: fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, works with any dial (but I chose Wimbledon), super nice duo with the bluesy for a slightly “dressier” piece that sends a different message than gold. Eric hits the nail on the head when he talks about how gold isn’t the best to wear for every situation, so it’s good to have both. JLC Reverso Duoface: third watch to consider if you already have a Rolex duo. Another iconic and instantly recognizable watch, but leans more into the dress side and offers nice diversification so you can switch things up. Just like you don’t want to wear gold to certain situations, there’s also situations where you don’t want a Rolex on the wrist, and JLC works very well for a watch that won’t draw attention from commoners, but will still be noticed by fellow enthusiasts
I learned everything about watches from this guy and bought my first ap royal oak back in 2017 following his recommendations when he was still in crm. Priceless advice !
Interesting topic. My first big spend was a Tudor heritage black bay, then a steel date just, blue dial and now a two tone Daytona white dial. Think I’ll stick with the three, a good combination.
I agree with the SS submariner and a Datejust. I have a steel sub with date and then I have a two-tone Datejust 41 with jubilee in rose gold. This is the perfect duo for me!
You nailed this. I might as well have done this video with you Eric. Steel Sub and Gold Day Date period! 😊
I have both the sub and the datejust 2. I feel the sub is more easy to carry off for daily wear with even casual clothes. I feel like the DJ2 stands out a bit too much for me. If u prefer to have attention to ur wrist , choose DJ2 as ur daily , else the sub is perfect. But having said that I love the fact this I have these to choose from. Not showing off though but I picked up a Everose Day date sunburst dial with baguette markers from my AD around 3 months ago and that band has a comfort factor like non other. Just my 2 cents. Have a nice day.

That’s my Grail collection u got. Good for you.
I hear ya Eric. I have two Rolex watches with the same thing in mind. A two-tone Rolex Datejust and a stainless steel Rolex Date. In my circles a touch more blue collar, I wear more of the Date. Every now and then I wear the two-tone Datejust, but like you, sometimes it's just not the right situation. Btw, brother, great videos. Your thoughts have inspired me in my Rolex quest and how to stay humble while doing it.
Yo Eric is that Al Capone’s old house in the background? Love your outlook on our beloved timepieces! Keep up the great WORK!!!!
Steel GMT (Batman) for sport and travel ticks all the boxes even swimming in it is fine and the 2nd watch would be a Full gold Day Date for dress... can always swap out the gold for a leather strap to tone it down ❤ ... My current 2 piece collection 😍 😅
So agree, 2 watches are a perfect combo. My current are the Omega sped on a ruber and a Rolex sub. Maybe to much sport. And yes day date is on my radar.
My two watches are 216570 Explorer Polar, great daily tough also under the radar and Datejust 41 Jubilee Azzuro Roman, dressy sporty and timeless. As watch prices come down my final piece will be the Hulk a piece I’ve always admired but was extremely overpriced. Truly enjoy the hobby. Great video Eric!
What do you guys feel about the full rose gold Rolex GMT rootbeer ?

😍 Beautiful watch.
Love your thoughts here Eric! Definitely Sub just still deliberating between Sky Dweller and Datejust
Eric, love the new sunglasses. Thank you for another great video.
I can’t do it. I need three. Lol. He nailed itt suggesting a sub and datejust. A sub is a must for any collection
I went for Yachtmaster 40 rhodium and DJ41 mint green, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet. I’d love to add a steel Daytona but there’s more chance of winning the euro millions than getting one at list!
1) Daytona Meteorite Oysterflex White Gold 2) Day-Date Yellow Gold Black Baguette Dial
Deep Sea & platinum day date = Heavy Hitters 😂
SS Daytona Panda and SS Sub Starbucks. Does everything putting the SS Daytona as the “sporty dress” watch. Both watches speak volumes that you know watches without looking too openly flashy and your trying too hard like the yellow gold can sometimes do.
I wear dressy most of the time for work, so the Sky Dweller in Steel is my daily rocker. For special occasions like trackdays and oder weekend activities, I love to wear my Panda Daytona :)
Great topic. I would have guessed you were more of a Daytona > Sub guy before this. I think you’re right that most people think sporty when they think GMT - but that 4th hand can be - and is for me - a Business hand. So it’s more a a dress, wear to work watch.
Eric thank you so much for new video 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Daytona Paul Newman oysterflex ( Daily ). Rose gold blue face Sky Dweller, great dress watch. Been thru many but as I hit my early sixties, thats a really good fit.
1. Flexible: DJ/SD/OP and 2. Sports: Sub/Daytona/YM/GMii Done.
Wow this is a good thought experiment. Gotta think...maybe today(probably diff. tomorrow, def. yesterday) would be a white gold Pepsi with the blue dial and a two-tone DateJust in rose and steel w/some kind of semi-flamboyant dial to be determined. Maybe a Wimbledon.
Steel GMT & Platinum Daytona….game over.

OP41 with the silver dial and yellow indices and a 36 mm explorer for hiking, swimming and labour work.
Two tone Yachtmaster II and full gold Yachtmaster II - ticks all the boxes.
Makes sense to me. I’d change the sub for an Explorer 2. DJ is hard to beat.
nice work !
I am 100% agree with you because that exactly what I have in my callection. Steel sub and gold day date. But I when a step further and add a GMT on the Jubilee bracelet steel. Use have the date just till I lost it and still crying for. Sweet sweet.
I feel the gmt is a better all rounder than a sub- has a useable comp and is as robust as a sub as a daily beater…no wrong answer but GMT over sub, just!
Hi Eric, Nice vid as usual. A DateJust is a sport watch!

I got the Date just with the oyster..makes it's even sportier
Great conversation topic, white gold sub and DD gold, good combination
Currently I have Rolex Yacht 40 two tone rose gold 126621 & explorer 1 39ml. Plan to switch it up Submariner green bezel and JLC reverso
I only own a solid gold Rolex submariner black dial 2019 model. I can't see myself buying a steel Rolex or another precious metal Rolex model. Im looking to buy the Vacheron Constantine Overseas rose gold blue dial now. beautiful piece
I think a stainless steel sub, And a date date are the ultimate two watch collection Great video
We need 3, 2 is not enough. We all need a Casio or Seiko to travel and visit Zimbabwe.
Hey Eric love your show what is your opinion on two tone submariner?
I’ve thought about this way too often. 36 explorer and yellow gold day date 40 with that green dial. 😎
You are spot on.
Spot on recommendation, gone through a few hundred watches, started liking Sub, and gone back to the Sub. its a great home base.
My thoughts exactly 💯
It's tough because I so rarely need a dress watch. I think a Sub, GMT, or Daytona can be dressed up or down. My grail dress watch is a Patek World Time, 3940, or 5170.
I have three Rolexes 1. Black sub 2. 39 OP Grape 3. 36 DJ white dial fluted I mostly wear the OP n I love it the most DJ for dressing up, love it too for that Dream would be Daytona panda and platinum DD…. Praying to have both one day 🙏🏽
You really only need 2 watches, maybe 3 or 4… but 2 is JUST fine, and cool. Explorer 36 mm all day long, baby!
Surprisingly my OP41 green has become my go to everyday. Second is a Batgirl for special days.
EXCELLENT REVIEW
Ideal is a bluesy and a datejust
If you’re going the precious metal route, one should be white gold.
Pepsi on a Jubilee bracelet and a Panda ! In my opinion, with these two watches, you can achieve a dressy and classy look depending on your outfit; it has been proven my Sean Connery with a Sub. Additionally, I find both of these complications useful, and having a water resistance of 200m with the GMT is sufficient for my needs; the GMT function adds more value for me 😁
Platinum Daytona and rose gold Day-Date 40 with green dial - done.
I agree I had 3, Batman, sub and gold 80’s day date. Got ride of the Batman and have a two watch collection, at the moment 😅
Two tone sub and platinum Day-date are my favorites
i think a 2 watch collection is great and honestly better for the OCD brain. keeping two high end watches is ideal IMO. Those two may evolve overtime in the rolex range but hes right you really only end up wearing two watches. Dress watch for the weekend and sports watch for the week.
@tyshig.
9 ай бұрын
Isn’t it the other way around? Dress watch during the week and sport on the weekend
Keep the 2 watch collection. Got to be 4 watches! 😉 steel sub, ever rose gold / olive day date, gold bluesy sub & a panda Daytona! 🔥😍
White gold day date and Batman for me.
I think this is a good example of why 3 is probably the perfect number, no more no less. Because 3 basically hits upon every single basic collector theme. Air, land, sea; Sports, dress, beater; Swiss, German, Japanese; Diver, Chrono, GMT, ; etc... Plus if I only had 2, I'd want them to get about equal wrist time and for both to be watches I feel comfortable wearing pretty frequently. The Sub and DJ definitely fit that pattern. Whereas a gold Sub or DD would not get as much wrist time. So I'd rather have 3 and the 3rd be a very special occasion piece (for me it would be something like a Lange 1) OR go the opposite direction and get a quartz beater as the 3rd (for me would be a G-Shock). If you must stay in the Rolex range, I'd get a full gold Daytona , GMT or Sky (adding to steel Sub and DJ) OR go "lower" and get a OP36 as kind of a grab and go watch.
Perfection....gold Day Date and the SS Sub Date. Homerun.
@rumporridge1

Yup. Got the SS Sub Date. Saving for the gold DD for my 60th birthday in 4 yrs. Excellent combo.
Totally agree.
Can you revisit your opinion on watches such as AET remould and DIW and ADG watches please and there worth in the market?
43mm seadweller anniversary and two tone datejust 36mm.
With this day and age a Daytona or gmt will go well with a suit as well. So I would choose a platona with the baguette dial and maybe a DD or a SS gmt
Nope. Steel Sub Date and Platinum DayDate (Ice & Baguette). Perfect.
My two watch collection is the RM Raphael Nadal, and the Rose Gold AP Royal Oak Offshore. Damn a Rolex.
As a daily Watch i would take the Sead-weller and of course the Platinum Daytona for the spezial time.
Love your content Eric. You always give profound unbiased knowledge. Cant agree more. Submariner is the ultimate one watch for anyone. Even before watching this video I knew it was going to be a sub and day date. As of now I have a steel sub and a steel royal oak. What are your comments on replacing the royal oak with a day date? If You were to choose would you choose a royal oak or a day date considering both Rolex and AP in the two watch collection. Please let me know.
I would go Sub, Daytona and Sky Dweller ...that would scratch any itches :)
For me if I could have any two, I'd go for gold Submariner with the blue dial and platinum day date.

1. Two tone datejust 2. Black dial Explorer 2
I do love my mint green 41 and Pepsi but I think two watch only out of the current range white steel Daytona and olive daydate 40
2 pieces is difficult, not sure I can do that, I feel like I need 1 sub, 1 gmt, couple Daytonas, couple day dates, 1 sky dweller, couple APs, couple pateks, I fail at this 2 piece subject 😂😂
Best 2 watch collection: Rolex 'Panda' with a Patek 5227J = PERFECT
Batman on jubilee plus Explorer 40 is my perfect do-it-all 2-watch collection
Stainless sub and gold Daytona are the only 2 watches you'll ever need.
@ralfklinckwort8050
9 ай бұрын
Totally agree. But it would have to be the 100 anniversary LeMans for the Daytona.
Kermit and a Pepsi with both oyster and jubilee interchangeable bracelets
My vote: Platinum Daytona, yellow gold Day Date 40. Platinum Daytona is beautiful, and under the radar for a precious metal piece.
Couldn’t agree with you more. So I should pair up my 124060 with an 18038?
Sub and GMT are more or less similar styled watches so they are somewhat interchangeable. One of sports watches/one of DJ/DD combo probably most sensible two watches Rolex collection.
A hulk and a black dial yellow gold datejust are perfect
Same black shirt
Rose gmt and panda are my two watches although I’m selling the gmt and going for a white gold Daytona, rose and yellow gold are a bit to much for me nowdays and I don’t have platona money 👍🏼
nice picks.. but the problem i have with a Gold sub is that it is kinda counter purpose of what a submariner is all about... which is a Sporty Diving watch, which should be more utilitarian in nature.... Gold is more in natural habitat with the datejust or day date i feel... right now for my lifestyle i pick a steel ND sub and a steel Daytona... if i need to know the date ill just look at my phone or the paper in the morning :D
AGREE, Eric.👍
I’ve got the steel sub and a gold Daytona with a black strap. The sub gets about 90% wrist time
I like the gmt master 2 two tone and the 40 gold day date president are my two I would choose
He’s right when he says not every situation is appropriate for a yellow gold Rolex. For example, you don’t want to wear it around your friends. They get jelly and there will be negative consequences. And before you say, “they’re not your real friends”… yes, Your real friends will be jelly.
Patiently waiting for the Porsche video
Ever Rose day-date and GMT master II GRNR. My picks
I love subs but color wise, I like more color. I think GMT’s are a blend of sporty and dressy. So I’d take a root beer gmt and a white Daytona.
