I brought the same watch and a lady datejust ref 279173 as engagement watches. My then fiancee now wife and I both love the elegance and legacy behind the datejusts. I don't wear the watch very often, nonetheless it reminds me the meaningful event in my life every time I lay my eyes on it.

How are you doing with your watch? I've heard that the 32xx mechanism is not very good, and it often has problems with low amplitude and inaccurate timing

The roman dial DJ is my favorite model and I am planing to buy one, but with oyster bracelet and smooth bezel as first option, oyster fluted as second! Enjoy it is amazing.

This is why i don't understand why a true watch enthusiast would put up with this. I like a handful of Rolex watches, but playing the game and getting treated like we are fortunate to spend money with them just takes away from the watch for me. I bought my Pepsi in 2005 and boy was service from all AD's different. Shame, real shame.

Is it still watch collecting at this stage or more of some kind of fear of missing out and compulsive buying? A collection is built slowly and carefully. You take the time to appreciate each watch or two before getting another. Yes I can afford to buy 15 Rolexes. Will I be buying them all in the same year? Certainly not. Anyway that's simply my humble opinion

It’s an addiction basically. Thankfully, having to play the waiting game and courtship with the AD’s helps to regulate the frequency of purchases.

I will never have a Rolex in my lifetime. I just know but it's good to see someone having these beautiful watches.

Just put a 20% deposit down on a 36mm exact same setup. I originally wanted a 41mm. Damnit your video has me 2nd guessing myself. The only issue with a 41mm is they cannot request that from Rolex but they can for the 36mm. I’m ordering from a AD in Tampa, FL.

Hi Niko, same thing over here in the states...the two ADs that I've bought Rolex over the past year - they removed all the stickers and didn't give me the option of keeping at least some of them on. I wold have liked to keep the clasp stickers on to prevent scratches at least for a while.

Nope, I had it once that I bought a watch that was scratched already. They have to call the area sales manager and he can approve a refund.

I can't find a Presidential watch in L.A., CA, but boy they aren't short of any of my favorite ones there. MY 2007 came with the green label on the back of the watch and had no plastic on it back then, as far as I remember nor did my wife's.

I can remember time's when boutique's in Germany had problems selling their Rolex's. they offered big discount's. these time's are gone .. it's nearly impossible now to just walk in a store buy one and leave with your Rolex. they have become collecter's item's and trade object's like stock's .

I got 20% off when I bought my two tone Datejust in California in 1989 without even asking for it. Total cost was $2700, and that seemed like a fortune at the time. I still have the watch and all the paperwork etc.

I was shocked. We have exactly the same watch. I got it a few weeks ago. I saw it at my Rolex store and bought it on the spot. I think it’s a beautiful watch, that people overlook. The AD removed all the stickers for me, but left on the protective tape.

Hi. You should go into a store and add your name to the list. Seddiqi staff are nice.. I didn’t have any history with them and I got mine in a few days time.. even if they don’t have stock you should be able to get it in a month or 2

You can also try visiting that store, all the staff were very nice and I am sure they will add you to the wishlist

Hey Michael, the datejust 41mm I bought was for a friend. I own only the 36mm, but I tried both several times of course. Currently I would prefer a 41mm with the blue dial, cause the dark dial makes it look quite small. With a bright dial I think 36mm is better. Overall 36mm is also a lot more comfortable. So if you like to wear shirts usually I think 36mm is fine and more comfy, combined with shorts and t-shirt what I usually wear a 41mm blue dial would be better.

@@TheDubaiExpat I agree, dark colors make the dial smaller than it is. I will go for a blue as well (same config than your 36) but in 41. I hesitated a hell lot, more than a year to finally decide to go for the 41 and eventually go for a 36 when I get older. I would say the 41 is more sporty and the 36 is more dressy. What do you think?

Thanks for the video. I would figure they would remove the plastic for you. I would also figure they would use cloths gloves and not exam gloves to touch the watch. I saw a video of the Rolex purchase in Singapore and it was so much different. Maybe this guy was new.

I just picked up a Wimbledon dial! I was in the market for a different dial and then the green Roman numerals caught my eye and that was it. I went with a two toned jubilee band and a fluted bezel. Hope your just as excited about your purchase still 4months later.
