My Rhinoplasty Revision Experience: Before + After, Recovery, Cost + Hospital Stay

This was my experience having a revision rhinoplasty surgery after having a nose job in 2017 + a MRSA staph infection in 2022. I go over my experiences, recovery, what I did not expect, the best supplies, my hospital stay + the cost of it all. I hope this is a helpful resource to those looking into the surgery for themselves!

Love the honesty about wanting it cosmetically. I see people make up stuff all the time about the reason they needed a full nose job. It’s valid to want a nose job just because you want to change the way it looks. 💗

The nose was definitely worth it ❤ I hadn’t really paid much attention to how bad the infection had damaged your nose until you pointed it out but as you look at your face a lot more and close up I could see how it would’ve bothered you especially when you had already had surgery to improve the look you wanted. You will be happy to have your new symmetrical nose in your wedding photos 😉 and weddings like rhinoplasties vary greatly in their cost 😉❤ Ps so glad your Dr is covering the hospital stay thats great news!

Hi Mitchel. Thank you for this very informative video. I just have a question. I also just had a nose revision surgery which like you said involves a lot more reconstructions and reshapings. I also had an implant using my ear cartilage from my ear. After my cast was removed I can barrely recognize myself :( I feel like a different person.. I miss my old noae already. But my surgeon said once the swelling has subsided probably after 3 months, everything will start to blend in with my face... Is this true? did you have a lot of swelling in the beginning too? Did your nose eventually shrink to the desired outcome? I just need some reassurance. Thank you so much in advance.

Watching this from the UK is mindblowing. One gall bladder surgery = free. One thyroidectomy = free. Several births = free. I know none have been optional surgeries (which I guess this is) but I am so grateful to have my health taken care of for free (and all went well). So glad you're happy with the results - you were beautiful before and beautiful now, but it's how we perceive ourselves that counts. Much love.

Your surgeon did a beautiful job. Your nose looks great. I know I will get some hate for my next comment.... Have you considered not letting your dog lick your face? It's my understanding that dogs can transmit MRSA to people by licking them. Max is such a cutie pie and pretty hard to resist, but it will be a real shame if this happens again. I am not a healthcare professional and might be completely wrong about this, but it's worth considering. Anyway, congrats on the beautiful outcome. It will be so nice for you to not have to think about it anymore. Who knows how much worse it could have eventually become. Going for the long-term solution was a good decision.

I am so relieved to know you won't have to cover the hospital stay! It's great to see how the doctor stepped up and took control of it since it was entirely due to negligence. Any tips from the doctor on preventing a reoccurrence of a staph infection ruining your nose again, besides taking the pre and probiotics daily and catching and treating it immediately? I wanted to say even at only 2 plus months out you can 100% see the surgeon did a wonderful job Michel, it's not even near to the final result, and it's beautiful and suits your face so well! Also, I am 3 months out on the 10th and how strange is it that we can only use Q-tips through the nostrils, mine are the same way and ugh it takes adjusting! I think we will ALWAYS question whether we should have done it, even when it comes out looking great, as mine did as well, just because of the cost and healing time! love your videos and honesty on everything you post about :)

I don’t know what I will do I need this. I had a septorhinoplasty in the uk. It was free since it was purely medical but he shaved my slight hump off. My nose looks so thin and low bridge now I’m not sure how I’ll afford the revision how do people do it? 😢

Your Dr did a great job. It looks very natural. Are you able to say who your Dr was? I am looking into a revision.

Well sadly there’s no way to know 🥲I could get another staph infection anywhere at any time! but the nasal decolonization should really help reduce the likeliness🤍

Did your insurance cover the surgery? I feel like they should of, if for no other reason than your breathing was impaired because your nostrils became so narrow. I hope they did!! And I'm very glad the doctor paid for the resulting hospital stay. He should. That could have had disastrous results.

So when Max accidentally bumped you in the nose (I know he didn't mean it,) do you still worry that people will bump into you? I know for me, if I have something that's tender, I always worry that someone is going to bump into me. Last year, I stubbed my foot on a dresser, and my foot turned black and blue, and I was always worried that someone was going to step on my foot. I'm such a baby. 😕🥴

Yea my surgery was 4 hours long.. I just remember going in at 8am and leaving when it was dark outside.. not sure what happened. don't even remember anything... like I just remember I was in pain because everyone ironically forgot to pick up my medication lmaooooooooo.. The rib was by far the most painful..I woke up, and I felt like someone stabbed me under my man boob.. for months it was painful to even workout..
