Thank you for the review!! It was in-depth and very informative. You rock!!!
I was looking into GT's Web Dev bootcamp and this has been by far the most in-depth best review of theirs specifically. Thank you!

I AM SOOOOOOO APPRECIATIVE OF THIS VIDEO!!! I've recently made the decision, after going back and forth, to attend Tech's bootcamp! There weren't a lot of reviews/videos on line when their bootcamp originally caught my attention. After looking at this I am SO ready to start this journey. Thank you SOOOO much for taking the time to make this!!

Question and comments: How soon you got a job with your degree from bootcamp? Where was it? How the salary was? Did the name of Georgia Tech in your resume helped you get a job through bootcamp easier? Because they don’t have a guaranteed job offer! I’m a third year aerospace engineering student at Georgia Tech. I’m 28 years old and doing school at this stage of my life is just really hard. I’ve had Java and Matlab and I’ve been enjoying Matlab so far. So I want to try the bootcamp and maybe do a career change. Glad you mentioned the 6 months old is better mentally because I am really really tired of school and don’t wanna push myself just to finish it earlier. I’ll take my time and I do suggest people to take their times.
You are a brave and amazing lady 👏👏 Congrats

Well I’m going to GA Tech Boot Camp, I’m sold. I’m still going to get a Ph.D. in Computer Science too all on line though. I’m going in person for the boot camp though. I’m turning to SNHU for Computer Science until I take the Boot Camp at GA Tech. I’m just going to take a break from College for 3 months. Thanks Buddy!

There were! I think some of them struggled and some really liked it. I don’t think it’s about age, it’s more about personal interest.
Thanks for the video! Does choosing a bootcamp based on location matter? I live in San Jose, CA and currently considering GT. Wondering if I should enroll into one closer to home?
@stephf
Жыл бұрын
I think local companies might value a degree/certificate from a university closer to home, just due to familiarity and possibly being an alumni. But in general I don’t think it matters too much

Was this program hosted by EdX or some similar company? From what I learned most of these programs are not hosted by the universities themselves. I'm trying to make the decision, my school's program is done by EdX. (I answered my own question here, looks like EdX hosts this. I found Georgia Tech on their website) Also, you said you came in with no experience. What would you suggest to pre-learn to get the most out of the bootcamp? Good video!

Hi! I’m about to enroll for this boot camp. Would you say that the career services and networking opportunities were actually beneficial?
@stephf
Жыл бұрын
I would say that it probably depends who you get assigned to as your advisor and mentor with career services, but in general I think it was helpful! I think networking really depends how much effort you put into attending their events, and reaching out to people, which I didn’t do that much 😅. but yeah I think there are definitely opportunities!

do you think this would be worth going for in place of a degree
@stephf

I talk about this in the video a little bit, I think if you already have a college degree but it’s not CS then it’s perfect. If you don’t have a college degree, I would get an undergrad degree in CS. If you can’t afford to go to college then it’s a decent option, but not better than getting a degree in my opinion

If I didn’t have a college degree, I would go to school and major in CS. I don’t know for sure so I would get more opinions on this, but it seems like a lot of companies still really care about traditional education. Even ones where bootcamp grads are welcome, they seem to hire those with at least a BA degree (even in a totally random field) versus those without. There were some people in my bootcamp without college degrees and I remember they would comment on how many job postings have a degree as a min requirement, which totally sucks 😔
