My Response To My Voice Being STOLEN!!

Ойын-сауық

I have been made aware that my voice has been stolen by AI and someone has created some covers using my AI generated voice. I'm going to react to these creations to see if AI Jussy is up to scratch.

The only real takeaway from this AI experiment for me is the fact that we now need The Darkness to do a proper cover of Killer Queen!!! 😁 Pwetty please? 🙏🏻🥰 Even without AI pointing it out, I’ve always thought that Justin and Freddie’s voices and vocal ranges are in the same sort of musical ballpark. An opinion that was cemented for me by Justin’s rendition of Under Pressure at Taylor Hawkins’ tribute show. So much so that every time I hear that song now, I think of Justin’s performance in complete awe that he managed to do justice to both Freddie Mercury and David Bowie’s parts all at once. 🤯 Incredible. And yes, Justin, we do all love you! 😉🥰💖 🦅🤓…

It's also incorrect. AI is as flat as the source voice, it copies every inflection, vibrato, imperfection. If the driving voice has an accent, the AI generated voice will have the same exact accent. If the driving voice is a speech in another language, the AI voice will appear to speak the same exact language. If the result is flat, it means the feeding voice is flat, which is not really the case with Freddy Mercury.

Justin! Loving your content! ❤ I guess the reason you felt like it was more Freddie-like in the third song than you is because of the method to get the AI songs. They feed a library of your voice to an AI, then use the original Queen song and ask the AI to replace it, so it ends up with the tone and enunciation of the original one, in this case, Freddie.

You definitely need to have 'similar style' vocalists for it to work. Ozzy Osbourne singing a Ronnie James Dio era Black Sabbath song for example would probably sound wrong. Theres so many little nuances in a vocalists voice that sound weird artificially transposed onto another singer - including accents! still, i have to admit, its pretty exciting hearing singers sing stuff they might never normally sing regardless of how hit and miss it is. I like to hear Justin singing never turn your back on mother earth by the Sparks! :D

You're right that some of these processes are merely imposing a timbre through formant shifting, without having a single clue as to what "expression" is. It is apeing the original, essentially, ignorant of why the original *worked*. Without nudging by a human at the wheel, the synthetic performance will either impart none of the affectations ("choices", even!) that make your performance *yours*, or apply snippets of past recordings in head-scratching, nonsensical ways.

It's all fun and games with a coke and a smile now, but this is all gonna lead to some massive industry shifting/changing or even breaking problems when it fully matures. If AI can create the perfect vocal, a track, and all a clueless chump has to do whilst sat with his hands down his pants is to type in some lyrics to create the next Bohemian Rhapsody or whatever, the industry will have to step up and lobby for control and regulations on this. Mix in perfectly generated AI humans, AI generated videos, holographic stage performances, we'll raise a next generation of kids thinking its weird/cringe to see a real human sing or play music. That's my cynical dystopian take on it, I could be wrong, but how else is this gonna go.

ha! The psychopaths running the industry will be *precisely* the people who use this technology to squeeze every last penny out of an artist that they can, while giving the artist the shaft financially. You forget all those things Pink Floyd tried to teach you way back in the day with their lyrics... Welcome to the machine...there is a reason that song is completely haunting, hollow. and eerie. Those were the words of an industry executive welcoming the band into the "fold", if you will of a multibillion dollar industry and trying to make them believe they weren't being exploited. The lyrics were those of a stone cold, ruthlessly greed driven psychopath who cared about no one and nothing but egregious profits.

Jenny May Finn is the wonder woman 😂, this has been an awsome choice. Justin Hawkins listening his AI version!!! In my opinion the first one was acceptable, Killer Queen is a great song and your AI version did it right. The duet Freddie/ Justin... the simple idea to listen you singing with Freddie is a dream even it be in AI. The third one (i forgot what song was) but it is the moment when the AI got crazy and mixed both voices... I still can visualize the system in this way 😵😵‍💫🤯 And Sticky Situations, one of my favourites songs of your last album, it was the real test for the AI... and it passed but with limits. You analized better than i did the difference between real voice and AI generated voice (because you talk by the knowledge). It won't never be equal, i don't think you are going to lost your employment Justin 😂 And finally, i have been watching the videos of your show of yesterday. Those things that you do on the stage never will be able to be generated by AI. Congrats to you and your guys of The Darkness ❤. I wish you can add Spain or i get money by the lottery and can travel to watch you to some other country 😂. Long live to live music🎸🥁🎤, i don't like the tin music! 💻

It's early days for this stuff. Do you think we will have virtual heroes in the future? How about classical music?

“She keeps Moët et Chandon…” That sounds like _you_ and Freddie. You do an excellent Freddie. (Killer Queen _is_ off Sheer Heart Attack.)

Can I skip the Abba part? I loathe their sound. “Confuser” - 😂 I’ve used that term. This one sounds more like Freddie than you. Yep, more Freddie on the second Queen song. More Freddie on the next song, too. Are we sure that they didn’t steal Freddie’s voice? You nailed his voice on Under Pressure live. I fink they should have used that AI voice on a Darkness song, and see if it sounds like you or Freddie.

@@SuziQ.ey!!👋 How is it going?😊 The other day I watched something that reminded me of you. What's your opinion on that girl who plays Metallica songs with a bagpipe?😁😁😁 Did it help you change your mind about that instrument?🥰 Edit to add:🙏just kidding😇😉

I don’t know. The mid range seemed off but some of the higher stuff seemed pretty good.

JH AI covering Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah would be an intriguing musical experiment. Doing Queen covers is a bit too close to the musical comfort zone.
