What A F***ing Muppet.

Ойын-сауық

I know you've all been wondering who my favourite member of One Direction is. I'll tell you, it's Liam Payne. I love this guy. Let's have a look at some footage of him being interviewed recently to exemplify why.

I have a feeling those guys knew exactly what they were doing when they put this guy on their podcast. He's the kind of person who doesn't recognize when anyone is patronizing him for a laugh because he can't fathom the notion that anyone would ever patronize him for a laugh.

This was hysterical, I nearly spat out my tea at "What if he beats me up", and Liam Payne is, no doubt, a muppet, but that interview speaks volumes against the Paul brothers, too. What a pair of over-grown schoolyard bullies they are, egging him on, drawing him out, with whoever that pathetic, fawning hanger-on sitting next to Liam is, all but panting, "Yeah, boss, good one, boss!" Yuck.

Yup, I *never* use the word hate for people I don't know; but those two are coming very close to that territory. They scam the fans they have, for MILLIONS of dollars each year, and they are just bullies - like you said. Sorry, I know this was an old comment from you, but I just happened to re-watch this episode right now for a laugh, and I saw your comment and just felt I had to say something. Because sure, Liam Payne is an absolute moron, but the brothers are so fucking horrible that my laughter just sort of stopped half way through and I became _almost_ a bit sad for Liam, who doesn't seem to know himself or the world *at all* and these two idiots are just letting him screw up even more, because it's fun for *them* - and that's just vile behavior. I think Simon shot him in the foot when dishing out the roles/images of each of the lads in the band. You've got the womaniser (Harry, despite being so far from the truth), the cute Irish one (Niall), the mysterious one (Zayne), the Noel/Liam Gallagher character (Louis, again sooooo far from the truth)... All pretty easy images to work with for a solo career, although I love how Harry Styles has managed to totally go against his womaniser image and be best example of a man who says F you to toxic masculinity... I digress... Poor Liam was marketed as the sensible one, the Dad of the group. He was the one who gave sensible answers in interviews, who kept the conversation going when the rest descended into chaos, the one who kept a level head and held it all together. I imagine it's hard to figure out who you actually are and how to rebrand yourself as something more appealing/exciting as a solo artist. Liam is a decent guy, he just lost his way for a while but seems to be doing much better now 🙏

"Sometimes when you hear Mariah Carey singing, you just wanna go: C'mon love, decide on a note and go for it". 🤣 ROTFL 🤣. That's the best description I have heard of when that style of singing is overdone. I think it is called "melismatic" singing (or some may call it "over-singing"?), but it can be taken way too far. Applies to a few other famous R&B singers as well...

+1 For the Mariah Carie analysis. Feel the same way about Whitney (R. I. P). They were amazing when they started out then the pressure/showmanship/whatever took over. Felt soulless. 😢

I remember his awful song 'Strip That Down' in which he's DESPERATELY trying to erase his boyband image... it had the lyric "I used to be in 1D", and let's just say if you have to keep mentioning how different you are, you're not actually different

Justin...you should check out the report that the band Monuments recently released, sharing receipts that show how venue merch cuts are hurting bands and cutting into the viability of touring. I'd love to hear your take on this and your experience with the ways that multiple people have multiple hands in the pockets of bands.

He’s the safe hands of the group but is about as exciting as visiting the dentist, which is why he works in the group but sucks solo (and why he released a mediocre Xmas song because they don’t have to be particularly good to get plays each year and earn money)
