    Hair likes to be put away and moisturized and left alone your comment is very incorrect because everybody doesn’t have the same hair …some people can wear protective styles and their head will grow and some people may hair weaker strands and end up losing hair regardless…relaxed or non relaxed …..

    My hair loves braids. Even when I was relaxed in middle and high school my mom would braid our hair and leave it braided for 2 months and the hair growth was BEAUTIFUL! I just went back relaxed and will probably let her braid my hair again

    When I used to braid my hair I realized that using any braiding hair in with my hair intermingled..it would break. But when I braided just my own hair solo it thanked me and grew like weeds..

    It was the braids. Braids will break and thin out hair due to no combing especially with additional hair.

    I just took out my Senegalese twists. I’m relaxed and never had any type of braids/extensions in my hair. A lot of my hair came out too after removing the twists and washing my hair…it was so tangled and I was so mad because I I thought my hair was in a “protective” style. Only had the twists in for 5 wks. I don’t think it’s good to get braids when your hair is relaxed, because of the processing the hair is more fragile and breaks easier.

    For me keeping the braids for a while actually helps a lot with the growth of my hair. I've seen amazing results. Apparently, leaving out my relaxed hair after washing without straighening it damages it rather. For some weird reason but I realized that protecting my hair a lot with braiding or cornrows with my natural hair helps with the growth of my hair.

    My hair is the length that yours is after you cut it. I would LOVE for it to be longer but it doesn’t look good when it gets longer because the ends look terrible. So I trim it. It status healthier that way and it looks it too. Maybe someday I will be able to have really long hair but I doubt it.

    The main thing that tangles relaxed hair is curly roots especially if you’re “stretching relaxers” past the time that is recommended for your texture. It’s like transition from relaxed to natural and abruptly stopping and starting again. I remember telling a client she needs to decide if she’s in or out.

  • @DenaJ

    @DenaJ
