My Progress after 6 Months of FIGURE SKATING ⛸
didn't really feel like 6 months though 🤷🏽 I enjoy figure skating a lot and couldn't wait for the 6 month mark to be able to make this video - for KZread, but also for me, because it helped me realize that I am getting better even though sometimes it may not feel like it.
Hope you enjoyed watching this video! If you did please like and subscribe for more!

Seems like you've made great progress. Everything looks so smooth!

Thank you so much💗
You've made such good progress in just six months! I also LOVE toe loop - it feels so much more natural than the salchow! One thing I noticed from your clips though is you're doing a "toe waltz", where you pick with your toe but then essentially do a waltz jump. Your right foot needs to pivot along the ice in front of your left foot before you take off. Your left foot should also pick directly behind you - at the moment, you end up picking kind of to the side. Coach Julia has a really good video demonstrating the pivot. I hope this is helpful! It's a super common mistake for toe loops, but important to correct for good technique :)

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. You are right. In time I will try to adjust it😊
Your rink looks SO COOL!
Toe loop was also easy for me in the beginning, but then I realised it was not a toe loop but a waltz toe like yours xD Then it became my enemy and it took half a year to fix, now it's good finally! Keep up the good work!💕
You're doing amazing! great progress and dedication. For your spins, from what I can see you are putting your weight on your toe pick which makes you fall out and loose speed. Try to focus your weight on your rocker. It will help you maintain your spinning position, increase rotations and give you stability in your spins. Good Luck!

Thank you!🥰 Yes, I tend to put my weight on the toe pick since I fell on that one spin. Even though I know I should focus on the rocker, I am afraid I’ll shift my weight to the back part of the blade and fall on my back😅 Thank you a lot for the advice🥰 I’ll try my best! Also, thank you for watching!
I NEVER KNEW THAT SPIRAL PICTURE WAS YOU it's all over my pinterest omg

Oh well.. my spiral is getting better, but I am not that flexible yet😅 It’s not me - I hope you are not too disappointed 🫣 I chose it as a representation of my progress because I couldn’t find or make a nice picture by myself at the rink.
I have been figure skating for 9 years now and I can tell when someone makes progress you are amazing my first six months (I was 5) were a bit hard and it took me a year to be comfortable enough (as a competitive skater)

Thank you so much!❤️❤️ I’ll need a few months before even thinking about competing😂
salchows (and toeloops) just universally suck😭 flips are super fun tho once you get the hang of them!! loved this video and you got a new sub❤️

I’m starting to enjoy the loop quite a lot, which I really didn’t expect. The flip… well, it is still in progress🤷🏽♀️ Hopefully it is as you say and I’ll end up liking it Thank you for watching 🥰💗
You’ve obviously improved

I’m going through the grades in the UK. It seems because your country does not have a structured program of going gradually through the levels, you appear to missing a lot of the basic skills that help develop onto more advanced skills. However, I could be wrong. I see at my rink where lots of skaters just l practice spins but there basic work is not good enough to start practicing jumps and spins. Good luck on your progress, your doing well 👍

That may be true🤷🏽♀️ I am not really sure. I feel like everyone progresses different and certain elements work better for some and take a lot of time for others. I obviously haven’t tried levels so I don’t really know. But I am very happy with my coach and her pace - especially the fact that she doesn’t make me struggle with one element, but we go through multiple and train according to what works for me. But, a structured curse is for sure very good as well. Also, thank you a lot for watching and leaving a comment🥰🥰
Wow you look like Jenna Ortega

First thought
I just tried my first salchow on Friday! It was pretty cringe, but I got it on the video anyway. Hopefully they’ll get better soon!

@@aimeetea_ oh lol. I am a figure skater too and it’s so cool to see others starting as well because I started late too!
Hi. I started end of last year and I am learning crossovers etc at the moment. You progress quite quick. I would like to learn quick too.

Hi🥰 thank you for watching and commenting. I feel like some things need to click before other elements just start to work easier. At the same time I feel like others just take soo long to look nice and get confident with. It is such a difficult sport as well, I think we (also me) forget that even the smallest thing is quite an achievement. Also, the most important is to just have fun👌🏼
I also fall the most on trying spins. Just not made for that 😭

Exactly!!🥲
But the toeloop is super hard, if you wan't to do it properly, in my opinion harder than perfecting the others.
I get really scared and dont know what to do because every hour my rink is packed to the brim cant properly move around

sorry to hear that Since I started, I had about 4-5 times when there were literally 70 people on a rather small rink. It was a complete chaos…
Toeloop > Salchow any day! Salchow just doesn’t make sense to me when I try to jump it, but toeloop does
