Well said! Same shit here in Alberta Canada. Different crops, same tight margins with the same financial issues.

You are spot on as usual. I also see a couple more years of high grain prices. Like you said though everything else is going up in price. I'm sure anyone farming now that owns paid for ground is worth more than they ever was worth in history, but when they go and look at the prices of more ground, inputs, and equipment you start feeling poor. Your example of being able to only buy three quarters of a tractor is a perfect example. A lot of guys are using paid for ground as leverage the pay for this high dollar ground that don't pencil out.

A lot of people probably don’t realize that every 1% interest is $10,000 per year on $1 million borrowed.

I like how in '08 the food companies said they went up on prices because of the fuel cost increase. But in all those years where fuel went down, they didn't announce food prices dropping. 😒

They have the price of the machinery built in to their coats.... Cash flow is all that's left no matter what though bc if you don't have debt- the govt just takes your money via tax ....

Very thorough and informative, thanks!! Lotta effort went into this must have a vast research department lol I really hope your right a couple more years of decent prices would help. There's 2 pieces of land for sale by us now 3x price 5yrs ago I hope we are not making a mistake but gonna pass, especially after 2yrs of drought, all the best!

@@Blackearthexcavationandtiling agreed. From what I'm hearing there is still a need for craftsmen. Even after they supplement from the south border. cheap and quantiful help is not always good help. All the major western/modern nation's are trying to bolster their economies by supplementing people from other nations. People are only good for currency in leaderships eyes.

Much like the timber. The people on the upstream were not making more money for the high high prices on the downstream. The people in the middle controlling the markets. Estimates. With a 40% surplus of crops, we are not burning our food. Lol
