taking a look at, and providing my opinion on factors and potential futures for commodity prices ....
bottom line - we work harder and harder for less ans less - as our politicians devalue our currency and line their own pockets

Always appreciate the content. Showed my wife your earlier clips as it was our turn to buy the next farm to add to the family farm in 2022. Cost of land is crazy over our way. Wishing you the best in 2023.

Thank you for watching .... I don't know of the price of land is as bad as the commodities prices ... ultimately, the whole problem is what does the dollar buy - which is becoming less and less ....

Land appears to have doubled in our area in the last two years based on what i have seen recently. Besides good grain prices, high inflation, good yields, we have a lot of solar farms in the works that has helped drive up the prices. We also are seeing higher land prices due to more and more Amish/Mennonites moving in. They are a bunch of Amish/Mennonites that have moved into parts of southern Ohio. They put their money together and will easily pay 25% to 50% more for a piece of ground than anyone else to get it. We just watched them buy 640+ acres a few weeks ago. Land for sale is scarce in our area. I agree that land from a pay for it stand point of view, definitely does not look like as good of a deal as it use to be. With hesitance, I still tend to think land may be the best long term investment. Keeping your money in cash with inflation going crazy looks like a bad ideal, and I don't think the stock market has bottomed yet. I do think if interest rates continue to rise it could impact land prices some. Another concern I also worry about is if a war was to break out with China. Their is a good chance China will not be buying our grain. China is one of our biggest buyers of grain. I feel a war could impact grain and land prices. I am sure some of our grain can be sold to other countries like what was being worked on when Trump was in office, but I don't think it will be overall enough. It is scary from a country stand point of view how dependent we have become of China. Also, some banks are starting to have money problems. It's really hard to dodge this mess when you see issues in every direction. I think the best thing a person can first do is try to get out of debt. The second is buy more ground when and if the time comes you are in a position you can some how afford to pay for it.

Really sad what has happened to this country. I’ve wanted to farm my whole life and seems like every year it gets harder to do. Doesn’t make me want to do it any less though.

Yes ... exactly... sadly, now the 800 to 1,000 acre guys are needing to go to town to get side jobs ....I don't know what the future of ag holds - but it's not looking good

Well said, I really can’t figure out how bigger farms make it on mostly rented ground? Paying for expensive farm land is a struggle, but at least you’ll have something at some point. There will be a reset if grain prices crash. The cost of equipment and ag inputs is ridiculous. Roundup tripled in cost in the last year, along with Urea

For sure we make nothing - these companies just continually take it from us .... the bigger farmers are likely just as strapped as the rest of us - its all cash flow, no real profit ....although the bigger farms do get a lot of breaks on inputs etc that the smaller guys don't get .... whole pictures a mess ...

@Edward Luth oh great here we go - sarcastically said ... yup gmo kills people, which is why the population is increasing continuously- and the avg age of life is longer than its ever been .... do you realize, that "corn" which is maize used to have an ear come out of the top - where the tassel comes from and almost all forms of corn since have been "modified" by humans .... I guess we could all go back to non gmo foods - and the govt will need to poll you personally since you draw the line as to where "gmo" is at ...then we can see who gets to eat and who doesn't afterwards due to mass starvation when not enough could be grown ..... I do agree with you about the canning - and many still do this - however, it had nothing to do with my video.

@Edward Luth oh great here we go some more ...no subscribers and no videos - oh what are the odds ...... so your definition of gmo corn is just roundup tolerant .... that would be dam good yeilds for that type of corn - we have tried non roundup ready corn, made about 120 to 140 bpa here - sold it at the same price as regular corn, wasn't any extra for it ... now you have to realize our county avg here is only 176 bpa and 53 bpa soybeans .. so its tough to make it - period and absolutely doesn't work with the yeild loss .... I've talked about this kind of stuff on my other channel - bottom line you don't get it ...

@Edward Luth that's great... good for you - you sure wouldn't do that there... maybe you should make a you tube channel sharing your experiences and then everyone (people just like you) can come over and tell you how your doing it all wrong and shove their personal agendas down your throat ... don't like my videos - easy scorll on .... as far as non gmo - which your definition is BS - basically your just saying non roundup ready - so if you get the same yeilds with it as you do "gmo" - how does that help? .. additionally, you do realize that almost all modern corns, yes even the non round up ready are altered by and originated by the big seed companies ... so besides your cancer claim - which has never been proven- not to mention, roundup was designed as a water softener - what exactly are you trying to accomplish ? .... can't seem to find you in anything online, hmm for being a large non gmo farmer - surely your info would come up and your not just trolling - hmmm

Great content as always! I'm really hoping for a non drought year this year so we can fully capitalize on a good yield and good price. My aunts farm just sold last week 3x what was worth we didn't even bid, would have took our cost of production up over another $1/bu of corn per acre..

They might be trying to push farmers to sell. Sell for subdivisions, other countries etc.. Inflation is good. The hard lessons are the best. It matters who you vote for. Woke up. I mean wake up.

I'm sure there is a large amount of propaganda involved in the article that influenced this video. And the author just used general statistics... I personally do not fully agree with the author of that article....
