sometimes you just have to cut ties with toxic relatives and yes even parents and siblings..not much respect from those who did not come to your wedding and calling the day of the wedding that they were going to a birthday party instead? Wonderful that your in-laws become your parents instead....

I’m in my fifties my folks treated me . I have a place. Everyone has a place in life . Mine is at the bottom. I understand that. Things are just things. I’m just me . I’m always up staged by my sister. She always looks for fault. I understand that . If someone else was against me she will defend me. She is the only one who can put me under her thumb. Anything I do it’s just minimal. It’s not a cut tie thing . I’m divorced. Rent a basement apartment it’s a really good basement. I understand I don’t deserve anything. I screwed things up. I been that way for years. Every one in my family is better than me. That’s ok. Nobody expects much from me . If I got mad on how I was talked to I be mad all the time. I got step siblings that don’t know I am here. They act like I’m not. A dad that feels like I have to pull teeth to get him to talk. Mom is the only one that I really think loves me. So when she passes hopefully years in the future. I will have nobody. I have my nephews kids . That may be there for me. This is not all about me.

The parents were horrible , no doubt about it. That said the parents could win on saying the guitar was abandoned property. If he wanted it so bad then he should have taken it to his own home. He obviously didn't care about it that much. His parents don't have to store his childhood belongings. They were jerks though.

Sooo this story is incredibly stupid. So he hired a lawyer, which would have cost him more than the cost of the guitar, and none of his family even cared enough to show up. He recovered nothing but more loss. He learned nothing that he didnt already know and his parents and brother didnt even care enough to care. OP is highly delusional.
