    That would be cool. I did put backing singers on the 'soul arrangement' of this song (felt like the new vibe definiely needed it)... here...kzread.info/dash/bejne/c6yh2daCfNnTfag.html

    Great composition and arrangement! Also the Vis parts were nicely done. I'm more interested in how you tweak them in phrases. For I've found importing the score directly into daw as midi, the phrases all sound static and robotic. As a result I reach out for modelling instruments with breath controller and play them line by line. That's a great amount of work in large arrangement and sometimes very tiring. Do you mind sharing some tricks on the phrasing? How to make them swing for example. Thanks James! PS:I'm a bit disagree with the seating and placement, doesn't sound a regular big band seating. But that is a difference of taste, my two cents.

    Hi! Thanks for the comment! Yes, if you do just play them as they come straight as midi into the daw they can sound robotic. To get them to swing don't have equal 8th notes., almost triplet them. Easy way would be from your scoring program. Make them 'perform' swung before exporting and the midi will reflect that i am sure. It's all about key switching and velocity in the libraries and dependent on what the mod wheel does for each instument. I will look into the breath controller ... sounds interesting though does sound tiring! There are 1000 ways to seat and mix, i seem to like this way... saxes to my left and brass centre to right... works for me , perhaps not everyone.

    This is a great demo. I'm considering picking it up. Quick question: is the lack in Trumpet Solo (!) a dealbreaker? Additionally, can the trumpet, sax, and bone patches work in a more 'pop' setting? Thanks!

    Hi! Thanks for the comment. I don't think it is a deal breaker, just wanted more control!! The ensemble patches would work well i think in pop and soul etc.

    Thanks for video, but what is differences between swing and swing more kontakt libraries?

  • @JamesSpillingMusic

    @JamesSpillingMusic

    The main difference for me is that there are more individual instruments in swing more than in swing, therefore i tend to use swing more..... more! Swing still has some great ensemble patches and some lovely muted individual trpts but neither libraries have individual trpt.

    I have both of these but I cannot help but feel slightly ripped off and that there is alot of articulations missing and it's annoying becuase it's the best intimate jazz library/horns out there. Especially the trumpets and sax we need a better legato and some wah trumpets would be very nice.

    James, if youre looking to build a channel, you got it. i've been researching channel growth for awhile. Once you get a few more vids and consistanr uploads, I would recommend hitting the marketing. I get a lot of great info from Adam Ivy youtube channel. best of luck, you got a great thing going with the music and puppets....so much you can expand upon.
