I went to the optician and told him that I think I need new glasses. He took my glasses off my nose and studied them for a moment, then he said “The glasses are perfectly OK, it’s just your eyesight is poor”.

Ah yes, the Bobby Dazzler tour. I was there, in Belfast. My train suddenly terminated 3 stops early, I panic walked 20 minutes & fell flat on my back, in the ice. When I finally got there, late, I pushed through an entire row of seated people, looking for my seat 🙃🥲 That was one eventful evening.

I went to the optician and was asked when I'm due. I'm not. I'm permanently bloated, and now people think that I'm not only pregnant, but close to some imaginary due date as well. Needless to say, I will not be going back to that one again.

This was funny for me since I am heading to the eye doctor today. It has only been a year since my last visit. But, as a senior the appointments are free. Or I would be like you spacing them out a bit.

You are so funny Sarah don’t stop looking at life in the way you do, and more importantly telling us about it. You’re definitely my fav. Btw my eyes have improved too, so it is possible (as you age) for somethings to get better😂, myopic people can have changes. Bonus! I put it up there with not having to shave under my arms and legs, the hair doesn’t grow there much these days. 😊

3:05 Eyes can become long-sighted as you age so if you are short-sighted they will correct themselves as you get older. I was looking forward to my eyes improving but I quickly went from being able to see things 10cm in front of my face to having to hold books at arm's length.

That actually happened to me - I had to get new glasses because my eyes had improved enough that my old prescription was too strong. Don't worry, they have since deteriorated and are now worse than ever. :P

I bought some designer frames online for £10 and my optician provided the designer case for them for free. Didn't cost me a penny as I get free lenses anyway.

This reminds me, I should go to the optician again, I havent checked them in ages! By now it must be around 6 or 7 years.

The last 2 times I've had my eyes tested inn two different cities, the optometrist did even ask me the old " which is better? and now? " bit. Apparently they can see what you see.

1 or 2 is for astigmatism. Maybe you don't have it? Or it hasn't changed so didn't need to be tweaked.

lol, my eyes improved from my last eye test of 3 years

My poor eyesight improved as I got older, my vision became perfect. And if you think it a miracle, I have the reason…it got better because I became older and those muscles that pulled on my eyes’ lenses and made my eyesight so poor became weak and the lens started to win the fight and improve my sight.

For me it was simpler: I had a couple of cataract operations! Interestingly enough, they also compensated slightly for my ever-increasing presbyopia by tweaking the focus in one eye. One eye still focuses at infinity, but the other at slightly less, allowing me to see closer objects a little bit better with that one. (My brain seems to compensate for this difference in focus between eyes at nearest focus and infinity just fine: I don't notice the difference unless I close one eye and then the other to compare the two.)

My eyes actually got better between age 20 and age 22. I think it was a stress related thing as I was less stressed around 22.

Actually I was long-sighted when I was little but no longer needed glasses by secondary school. Then I started to go short-sighted in my early 20s and they've been in steady decline since.

No way she is 47, she looks much younger

Get yer prescription at an opticians then buy your glasses on line. More £20 for glasses is bloody robbery.

Almost everyone gets a little far-sighted as they leave middle age behind, so if they were near-sighted to start with, their eyesight will indeed improve. ^.^

Could you image Sarah being a Registered Nurse or Doctor , and how thinks ? She would quickly get a reputation with the staff , because how she would describe patient interactions . Staff would find something to fo in the nursing station when would be around just to her about her patients . Lol

My optician told me I wasn’t blinking properly…I think I’ve been doing ok for 50 years 🤣

I haven't been for ages either, the thing is, as you age your eyes go more to the plus side and I've always had a massive -13 or something so maybe now it's a -12? haha My glasses are totally worn out though.
