My opinion on the healer strike

I talk about the healer strike while afking and vibing.

So the thing is, most of the community understands that amp’ing the difficulty means that people would be more likely to leave dungeons. It’s basically why they’re making it easier to go through MSQ. That being the case, it doesn’t make sense that they keep giving healers more healing abilities. They really should give them more to do during downtime. A few more dps buttons to have a small quirky rotation wouldn’t be so bad. Or maybe more party buffs? Heck, since tanks and dps can now self heal, wouldn’t it make some sense for healers to also step into other role’s kit too? Allow some healer to take a TB like a tank. Allow a healer to also BE a star dps’er. Healers are just asking for things to be fair yet for some bizzare reason that’s a problem? I truly don’t get it. TLDR; Give sage more dps buttons and make them a real dps healer. Give scholar more weaving abilities (like weaving biolysis into a dot spread like pvp). The trio is completely unbalanced at this point.

Idk I’m new but I main Astro and probably always will. I have all 4 of the healer classes above 50 at least with Astro at 90. I’m never striking. 😅

Astro is probably the only fun healer we still have because they utilize most of their kit at 90. Also, you feel more useful being able to buff other players often. Unfortunately, this is not the same experience shared among the other healer classes. (Unless you want to count scholar with expedience and chain strat but that’s still 2 skills and only one of them is used more frequently every 2 mins)

SGE's new DoT is nothing like Miasma 2....

The only difference is that miasma 2 is around the player, as opposed to Dyskaria. The concept of it being an extra DoT to keep uptime with Dosis is the real takeaway. Keeping both dots on uptime is something healers haven't seen since Stormblood.

@@Noitems Everything is different. Miasma 2 has a huge MP cost, you had to use it sparingly. ED does not. Miasma 2 is your primary weaving tool (because of 2.5s cast times), ED is not (because of 1.5s cast times). Miasma 2 has a melee requirement which single-handedly raised the skill ceiling of SB SCH so that it functioned as a melee range turret (because of 2.5s cast times). ED is not going to do that in any capacity because cast times are 1.5s, so you can go out of melee range very easily after using ED. Miasma 2 is only damage positive under weaving, you never maintained it. Current potency numbers show that ED is just a second DoT. *You never kept Miasma 2 up in raids*. The way you would use ED is completely different from Miasma 2. ED is a second DoT. Miasma 2 is a weaving tool that rooted you near the boss that had constraints most casual players would never want to touch (high MP, 12s intervals, and melee req).

It's not just casual players, I'm a pretty serious raider too. And I DID play Scholar in Stormblood. It sucks to think about what we have now compared to then. Our second DoT, Miasma II, Shadowflare, Selene, all the tools we had to do or support DPS are gone in favor of 111111121111111. It sucks, I hate it, and I think healers are right to strike. The Shadowbringers lobotomy really make me quit healer and switch to GNB. Sure, Xeno's video might have been the straw that broke the camels back but that camel has been collecting straws for two expansions now.

Yeah it's a tough balancing act because the tools are there but the fun dps options aren't. I hope DT is the spark that slowly makes the devs realize we want tools like in the past, but to make it a bit more balanced with current ogcd kits that healers have been getting. The xeno vid def brought it to the main stream, but it's been in the rumbling i'd say since early SHB.

To preface my perspective, I see no issue with healers as they are now and I think there are two separate issues at hand being discussed: Damage rotation and heal checks Damage rotation - If my entire party has mastered the fight to the point healing is boring, you can bet I've at least mastered my rotation to the point that playing my job isn't adding difficulty. I don't see how having more damage buttons changes anything. Heal checks - Seems to be a completely unrelated issue that healers want to feel needed. I get it. Tanks want to mitigate tankbusters that would one-shot anyone else. DPS want tight dps checks. I have no clue how SE would implement those features in normal content without excluding the same people who needed easy mode on solo duties. And even if they pulled it off, all three would still be nearly meaningless in the face of a team of world-first raiders with synced-down gear (like Xeno's group was). I bet you they could have cleared that dungeon without a tank or without dps if they felt like it and there's still a chance someone's going to complain about that dungeon being abnormally difficult.

I'm sorry but I'm one to say this is the most stupidest things to ever happen in a video game. I am up for folks to stand up firmly for what they believe in. However, this is utterly ridiculous as this started off with a player that played an unfinished build of Dawntrail and gave an incomplete analysis on the Healer classes in the demo. None of what they've played is official or set to stone. My issue lies with a lack of accountability in the community. So much wrong within the said community, it's pathetic and no one has brought up these issues, but you have players trashing the Healer classes. Nothing is wrong with them at all.
