It might sound weird but I often feel blessed my house gets messy. We always wished for a child and now we have a son and I am so grateful for the mess he makes 😂😍. It makes my house feel alive. It is a mindset and as a minimalist it is not hard to clean anymore...just like you said also.

One of the mindset shifts I've had recently is paying attention to messy vs dirty vs filthy. My goal is never to have a filthy home, I have a 2 and 3 year old so my house gets messy and dirty on a daily basis. I chip away every day and basically just keep the house mostly tidy and the filth at bay. It's really helped my anxiety to reframe.

Last night I was driving down my street and my neighbors are mostly older and one had their front door open, I caught of glimpse of their shiny clean floor and instantly felt a little jealous while my home is covered in remnants of Easter baskets, but then I replaced that thought with I am SO THANKFUL for that mess, my kids are my world and I know this is a passing phase of life.

I would love to see you do a video on how to be content with your home and belongings. I have no issue decluttering but I find myself constantly wanting something new or wanting to do more home improvement projects. I feel like I spend too much time and energy looking around my home for things to change. I want to be able to relax and feel content with where I am and what I have. It seems like in your videos that you’re very content and don’t feel the urge to upgrade items in your home and I would love to be more like that ♥️

So interesting how people split up their cleaning, I have 7 rooms in my house, so each day of the week I spend 1 hour getting that one room as clean and organised as I can... its usually the first hour after I drop my kids at school. I have my daily stuff like dishes and laundry etc. And if the weather is nice I'll do an hour or so in the garden. If not, I dont sweat it. 😊

I am a seasoned military wife and SAHM of 3. Been homeschooling since my kids started pre-K/kindergarten (so 5ish years now). Each base and season of life brings us different challenges. It wasn’t until last year that I found minimalism, & my oh my what a game/life changer! Dawn and Joshua Becker were the first ones I found, then I found you! You are always so encouraging Natalie- love all your vids. I found it funny that you also know the quote “eat the fish, spit out the bones”. Ty so much. I am so glad you ALWAYS keep it real. There is something important that I have learned, I PUT TO much emphasis on having a perfectly clean house. I wasted so much time trying to live up to my expectations that I missed out on living! When my life felt out of control the only the only thing I felt I could control is the way my house looked. Sometimes we need to look at our homes though a camera lens or rose colored glasses, so we don't stress ourselves out about all the details. We will always need to , cook, clean, pay bills declutter ect. I love that you advised making it fun. Life it to short and for many of us a real challenge. While I always am looking to simplify my life I now realize that sometimes we can make it very stressful. One day at a time, one minute at a time ect.....giving ourselves grace to enjoy the journey! It took me over 30 years to learn that !

We try really hard to stay up on dishes and laundry but everything else is the wild wild west. Thanks for taking the time to think of those that are not in your situation. I hate cleaning the kitchen especially after my husband cooks. So many spills and messes and weird things in the sink that just make me grumpy.

I live in a small 100 year old home with narrow staircases and lots of nooks and crannies, so having a vacuum that was cordless, small and lightweight was a must for being effective at cleaning my space. So I guess my advice would be to get a vacuum that fits the layout of your home! 😅 It looks like the one you have is super powerful and works awesome for your space 👏🏼 Love your content! This video was so helpful. I hate how when people give tip videos that somewhat aren’t practical for me. I live in an apartment where laundry is basically $3 for 1 load and so I can’t do it daily. I do it weekly at my moms house. So when people say that it discourages me. So I like that you understand not everyone lives the same. I also had a mental breakdown from feeling overwhelmed with cleaning today. I don’t have a dishwasher so I have to do dishes every day and sometimes 2x per day to keep up which sometimes is stressful. I also live with my s/o and my puppy who takes out all his toys right after I put them all away which adds to my house looking cluttered. So it was nice to see that you also have that as well! i also watched this while doing the dishes which is what stressed me out the most!

Recently found you through Dawn and some others. I love how you said it needs to be done so don’t make it a dirge. Cleaning our homes is a reminder of how blessed we are. Blessed with health to do it, a family to minister to, all the people in our home that contribute to the mess just because they live and love with us! Thanks Natalie

I have 4 small children and am so grateful for this motivation! I have continued to declutter and downsize, and it has made the biggest difference in my life. We follow a routine for most days and it helps to have less to manage.

Absolutely loved the context of this video! As a working mom of 3 little ones our house definitely tends to get messy and I feel as if I am constantly cleaning. I began looking at it as this huge task that I didn't want to tackle and things would get out of hand. Your advice would help me so much to have a different outlook on it and to separate my tasks and set more manageable goals for the day/week/month/etc. Thank you Natalie for the inspiration! Keep the great videos coming ❤😊

Two of the best things I did to helping keep my house clean: 1) teaching my whole family (hubby, kids, etc) to do their part. Put their stuff away. Do their laundry. Do the dishes. My house stays cleaner for longer because they all help. 2) don’t wait to put said item away. It usually only takes a few seconds. When you don’t take them at the moment, they will eventually add up and you spend an exhaustive amount of time doing something that would not have taken barely any time. Glad I watched as we need a new vacuum.

Hi Natalie! I've been a subscriber for a few months and I really love your videos. I don't have any problems keeping my apartment clean because I only share my space with my boyfriend and cat. Plus, I am a little OCD about cleaning and tidying. But it's so fun to see how you tackle your organizing and cleaning challenges. You always have such a positive attitude, which I find inspiring. Thank you very much for your wonderful videos!
