wouter lubbe If I were to hit the track (which I would) I would get the Evora. The R8 is a good car, don´t get me wrong but the only part that feels special in it, for me, is the V10. The rest is just standard Audi as opposed to the more rarer Lotus.

This is a huge upgrade from the 4C let's be real for one second. Maybe a slight downgrade from the F-Type R, but don't sleep on this car too much. The Lotus Evora 400 is pretty darn sweet.

This is a F-Type which is more like your old 4C

Sam what I would do is spend towards the lower end of your budget, saving money because next year the Ferrari 458 the 540c and 570s should all be in budget because of less demand and increased depreciation so I would wait and have a proper super car next year .

@Sgd On cars I agree. If he saves quite a lot now by buying a little cheaper car, his budget for the next purchase which could happen in a year or two might be sufficient to buy his dream car. Some people might have thought he was talking bs when he said he was going to buy a Ferrari at some point, not now, but if you know who, and what, he *really* is, you gotta believe him. He is not an ordinary person at all. It's just that he is not a spoiled child. NO offense to some richer guys.

I've definitely enjoyed owning my 2010 Evora!! it's a great daily, fun on the track and you just don't see them that often! I filmed a 400 last year and it's a huge step up from my car!

it looks like a super car and sounds like one too. as long as it drives awesome no one cares if it's not 2.9sec 0-60

Tomas Sviridovas an Elise Cup 250 will embarrass a LOT of much more expensive and powerful cars on a track. An Evora 400 is also probably the best driving experience you can have on the road. Very supple and set up perfectly for British country roads

I love Lotus. Driving a Lotus is saying no to mediocrity and no to compromise. It's raw and therefore for real men only. Not for posers or the girly Porsche drivers or old lords in their Aston's and old farts in their Jaguars.

I wish that was true holistically, but I have a good friend whose Exige S (Toyota 4-cylinder DOHC engine) completely exploded because of the excessive stress Lotus put on that engine. Generally, however, the Elise, Exige, and Evora (naturally aspirated) are very reliable. The throttle bodies tend to go bad though if I remember correctly, but that's Toyota's fault, not Lotus'.

Love the Evora 400. For sure my favorite of all the cars you've test driven but im biased towards lighter more track oriented cars.

Looks good, handles brilliantly (as every magazine in the world claims) and make quite a wonderful noise. A very strong contender i'd say.

Toyota v6 kindof sortof sounds like a mix of gtr v6 and the 2jz supra engine. I like this car, I wish you went for a more hardcore, more sports oriented varient this time instead of the gt style of the f type

Actually, while original Evora was a GT, 400 version is *very* hardcore. 410 is even more hardcore.

Greg S you just need the right Lotus. They can be reliable, the Rover K series engine was worked on to be reliable by them. The only problem with Lotus is you need to be small to fit in them haha.

So basically, what i comes down to so far is decide between a MP4-12C or a R8 V10 plus. Everything else wasnt really that great. Unless he doesnt find an affordable 540c soon he will end up buying one of those 2 mentioned cars i am certain about that.

You obviously know very little about car if you think an Evora 400 is worst than a F430. The Evora 400 is overall a much better car than the F430.

That thing actually surprised me with how great it sounded! Almost like a Porsche flat 6 in the higher RPM's!

I think this car is so put together, and it feels so great to drive that you're ok with it not having 5,000 HP and throwing you back in your seat

If you're going to own one: it has to be British Racing Green. You're right that it's no super car, but it's uniqueness makes it special enough to own in my opinion.

I'm sorry but you don't really have the budget for a supercar. You gotta choose (if you're clever enough about reliability) between a great GT like a 599 GTB, or this kind of sportscar. And the Evora is fantastic.

Great video can't believe you was filming two mins from my house and pulled up out side my mates for pics. Not the best roads round here for for test driving all 40mph and under. Should have gone towards Southwell some good driving roads around there only a few mile down the road keep up the good work.

Man, lots of half assed car enthusiasts here! Lotus have solid reliability, solid Resale and are unparalleled in driving experience. Where do people get there facts from? Has anyone actually read any reviews for these cars, they are some of the most highly rated vehicles ever made!

Don't get me wrong I love this car and the whole Lotus brand and it looks like you do to, but I don't think it shouts supercar as much as the 12C or V10 Plus does, and the whole point of owning a supercar is for it to be crazy and mental but I just don't think this does the job because it's a little to sensible to be consider a real supercar!

No matter the specs or price, whatever, when I look at it I just think of one of those overpriced one-off sports cars that the major manufactures put out for a couple years and then cancel cause no ones buying them. I'm sure its fun and cool but for the money there are so many other cars I'd rather have.

You made the mistake of spending more than you should in the Abarth and now you're making the same mistake you mentioned in the 12C & F430 video, feels like you're just rushing to buy a supercar for the sake of having one, worried about the content in the future. Just sell the banana mobile depreciating every day, get yourself a brand new Giulia QV for your roadtrips and daily needs and save some money until you can afford a used 540C, 570S/GT, V12 Vantage S or a 458 Italia (which shouldn't take that long). This is your best option, you like it, it's a phenomenal car, every auto-journalist worth mentioning has been praising it and no one has a Giulia QV, which would make your content more interesting and exclusive.
