SenszR yes it wouldn't be cheap but if you keep the original parts you can sell the mods on and sell the car stock again. 360 shouldn't lose money at this stage. Even to the right buyer a CS look car could be worth the extra money. Plus it's interesting and quality content

A 599 GTB is another world compared to this. You said you didn't want another GT car, but the 599 is also a 610bhp V12 supercar. What about a V12 Vantage?

Ferrari's have such allure, I could sense how much you loved the car (the hat said it all) and the sense of occasion you got from driving it, but you're right. Once the honeymoon phase is over, you might start thinking about what you could have had (458 etc). Fair play for not diving right in Sam and logically thinking it through! Looking forward to the next!

Sam I absolutely loved this video from start to finish. Production wise you have got your videos absolutely locked down now: the angles, colours and everything are just looking sweet. The music at the start was an awesome touch stirring up those boyhood Ferrari fantasies we've all enjoyed. Bravo, sir.

I think you are making a big mistake not to go for that gorgeous F430. It looks great, it drives and sounds great, its a one owner car, and since that's important to you, its through a Ferrari dealer. I know you ultimately want a 458, who wouldn't, but the F430 has some key advantages over a 458 that you may not realize. First of all its the last analogue Ferrari sports car, with a standard layout round dial dashboard where the 458 went to the all electronic gaming dashboard. Secondly the single clutch F1 gearbox has more of an appeal as it feels more natural than the always silky smooth 458s F1 (not saying that they 458 F1 is not good, its just perhaps too good). Lastly it has more than enough power which is at a usable level, whereas the 458 is already at a level where its really difficult to make use of its awesome capabilities. Of course dynamically the 458 is way above the F430, but that will just allow you to exercise more of your driving skill with the F430. Lastly on your note about purchasing from a Ferrari dealer, as a Ferrari owner who is now on his 2nd Ferrari (first 575M Maranello, second F430 Spider so obviously I'm biased) I can tell you that based on the way the local Ferrari dealer treats its potential customers as well as the prices it charges for the equivalent car with equivalent history and pedigree (some 30 - 40% more) there is no way I would even purchase a used Ferrari from the Ferrari dealer. Not only did the local Ferrari dealer offer less than half for my 575M Maranello than it was worth (based on their own sales of almost the exact same example), but they are asking a lot more money for a less optioned F430 with higher mileage and more owners than other reputable dealer. The dealer I purchased from are the authorized dealer for McLaren, Porsche, and Pagani in Ontario, Canada, and they know how to treat their customers much better than the local Ferrari dealer, and their stellar reputation backs this up.

I think you should buy a Ferrari, look at how excited you're. In the previous test drives you've never been this excited! Buy something that makes you happy; will hold it's money too.

Guys nice review i like the 430 and the 458 but my question is how reliable is the 430 ?

How is the scuderia version of the f430 able to shift in 60ms without having a dual-clutch gearbox?

Just save money and buy a 570s or a 540c.

Ferrari why not ? You only live once and it's a Ferrari. However you could save up and get a 458 in a few years (7 year service) . So I would wait and do it properly. Also f430 is a bit dated inside and possibly outside.

But that is exactly what they said about the 430, at the time the only people moaning about the gearbox were clarkson and co, now everyone recons its crap because the tech has moved on. everyone got sucked into the f1 bull. Imagion what a manual 430/360 makes now. Fact is ferraris are only cool if its the very latest model or a model that is over 20 years old and could be classed as a modern classic.

I totally get it. I'm a big fan of not making do with anything below what you want. I waited for ages and spent weeks looking and checking for specs and history before settling on my C63 before buying. Even down to the level of software in the infotainment system. A strong decision, I think I even knew the outcome before you posted. I think we share the same frame of mind to be honest. I'm calling it now... R8 for the money at this time. Best of luck man. I really like this series. I can totally understand his sentiment. I love Porsches have driven them and can say this it must be a GT Porsche, possible a turbo but more likely a GT porsche. Like Sam I too would wait to get a Porsche from the dealer etc. Much respect bro. Small request it'll be interesting to know what else you drove in the series that u didn't film.

I hired an F430 for my 30th birthday. It was phenomenal. Scared the life out of my mates. The noise, the handling, the styling...an amazing package. I understand your thinking, but there's no denying that this is a serious piece of kit even 10 years on.

I saw the exact Audi R8 in orange that u test drived from Audi Maidstone.

My uncle has a beautiful carbon black 430 Scuderia, with the two silver stripes. My favourite modern Ferrari super car.
