Make the stache larger!
Keep the stache! The buttplates on the carpet are definitely going to be an in issue over time. Trust me, I tried the same thing and I learned my lesson. Just lay a board on the floor, maybe secure it using a bracket. Thanks for another cool video, I love the way your room is coming together!

Looks great but I'll echo D.H. and say be careful about letting anything rest on the floor. We had a water leak in an adjacent unit that got into the walk-in closet in the master br where mine were racked similarly. From experience, I now elevate most everything with the exception of a few waterproof ammo cans and storage totes.
The carpet will eventually cause issues. The simple solution is to just lay a 2x6 under the butts...not permanent and no damage, quite the contrary. In the event that you have oil or other excess lubricants drip due to the vertical orientation, it drips onto the 2x6...no carpet stains. If the thickness is a problem, use a 1x6. It's cheap insurance against rust. Also, if and when they rust, that rust will also stain the carpet. An 8' 1x6 or 2x6 is soooo much cheaper than the rust damage later. Also, a simple wool blanket (or several, depending on size) tacked or clamped to the wall will protect wall and paint and is a relatively cheap covering. If wool doesn't work, Walmart et al sell those cheap flannel throws which will accomplish the same purpose. At one point, I had over a hundred rifles stored in a carpeted closet and then in a bedroom. The rust which eventually collected on the buttplates was irreversible, and the carpet stains did not all come out completely.

Thank you for that simple and elegant solution. Brilliant!
Very nice! I really like how the bottoms rifles intertwine inbetween the top rack, looks really good!
As for lining up the top rack with the bottom rack, use a laser level that has vertical beam as well. I just moved into a home and everything is mounted perfectly because I've used a laser level everywhere.
I dont even like milsurp but the way you present your information keeps me subbed

That's one of the nicest comments I've got in a while. I appreciate it.
Such a beautiful collection and a your rack system displays them very very nicely.
Great video and concept. Cheap and easy to build.
STS - Shave the 'Stache. Really like the display and may implement something similar in my newly built gun room. Have always gone with a horizontal pegboard system using metal wall control units in the past, but as my collection grows in size that system uses up too much space. Have played with vertical mounts, but couldn't get a stable enough way to display the receivers up which looks far better. Thanks for the videos!
Simply move the bottom shelf up… no more bolt clearance issues.
Beautiful collection.
Nice work Danny. Just the fact that you have multiple display racks makes me jealous. Cheers from 🇦🇺
Happy to see that you took my advice about the two tier system. It looks great Danny. I say keep the mustache.
Make your stache rolly fingers/handle bar style. Only thing I can think of for the racks, is to find a way to secure the rifles in place, in case of a burglary. Good looking setup I may do the same, just going to add a device to secure them in place.
Keep the stache I like the racks, might do something like this in the future myself.
Very nice rifle rack system
A board on the floor would be good and space out the rifles a little more and you can add a dowel between each and hang bayonets' for each rifle in between. Also I wonder if magnets covered in felt would look/work better than bungies?
The carpet is synthetic so should create nice gap from foundation. Just watch overall humidity. One side sticky rubber in your cutouts would work. Use a wider lower board for more depth seperation.
Love the rack and my advice on the stache is don't listen to the masses do what you like
Stach -- Could go either way. You decide. Thank you for your videos!

Yeah he looks cool with the stach but it made him look older so which way would you go for i prefer shaving due to having an habit of trying to look younger that I have inherited from my family since childhood.
Bigger stache for sure.
It has probably been suggested, but a thick wire rope running through the triggers with a lock on the end may be a good idea in the event of a burglary. I was working on a single display, till I saw your double. Great work-Thanks for sharing.
I like the display I just do not have a secure area right now
Yes, I agree, receivers out!
Gotta keep the mustache!! Looks killer :)
I have been storing my milsurps with the butts down on the carpet, and things have been fine so far. It's been almost 5 years now.
Nice setup. I say keep the stache.
My Dad used to call that a football mustache, 11 on each side!
Love the rack, love the channel, the stash not so much.
Rock it brother!
KEEP IT, also what kind of display did you use for the various handguns and or bayonets?
I am adding an underground vault to my home next year ...I just had back surgery so unfortunately it must wait.... it will be 8ft by about 12ft with hidden access from my garage... I always put moisture absorbers in my safes and room my firearms are which is a hidden storage for my 10 safes
Save the mustache
first!!! Its great seeing you again Dan .The display looks awesome but needs a bit more detail as im sure your working or worked on it already. I would like to point out that some rifle's markings weren't whitened yet so I would highly recommend crayon because it doesn't cause loss of patina😢 and stays well. And for the mustache It looks cool but I give it a (NO) because it made u look a bit older.
Regarding the mustache.... You do you bro. Live your best life.
Keep it/ Grow it more
Hey it works ... I would like to display my rifles like that but the worry of someone getting in and loading them all up while I'm gone would bother me the whole time . Would love to have a safe room type thing to put the out like that and as a reloading room to . As far as the stach if you like it screw everyone else .
We are going to need to see the stache curled larger than Empire Arms owner
Hi Danny. At 3:38 what year is the Mauser on the top rack on the right end? Thanks!
Great video. Grow a bigger stache!
Ideas for pistol rack?
Mustache looks good.
Set a 7" board under and it won't imprint the owners carpet. Thank you.
Keep the stache, but make it longer! Handle bars all the way.
I say NO to the MO ! ...hang onto that younger look while you can 😀

I just want to know where all of these rifles came from
What you doing renting still? I see a down payment or three on those racks.
I'd put long guns on top and short guns down below, that would keep rubbing of barrels, wood, and receivers to a minimum.

I like your rack system, I don't care one way or the other about your mustache. In my gun room, I used bicycle hooks into the ceiling joyces to hang my rifles. Not as compact as a rack, it is still a good way to display them. Bicycle hooks are coated, and end with lag screw threads, one at each end of the rifle and they are well supported and displayed.

very cool alll you gotta do is add a shelf board laid on the floor (maybe w/ sticker carpet fiber dnwd to prevent slippage) angled or w/ a riser strip on top to lean the muzzle ends into the mid shelf

the 'stash is too short. Grow it out more or shave it.
If I commented any other time, I would say get rid of it, but as the 69th comment, it would be inappropriate to call for the demise of the porn-stache and just say, niccccccce.
What a difference it makes having the bolts facing out, flat on the wall shows more of the weapon but the rack shows them as military rifles as if stowed in a company armoury, great stuff, oh and as for the tash makes no difference you're still hideous, 😜
