Are those the 3-1/2 inch wide ones? Quarter inch diameter? I believe Menards still has them and they're a good bit cheaper than Amazon and home depot as you said.

Who makes the plastic pieces? I've never seen those before (no Menards in CA).

can you sort out which ammo fits which pistol? maybe a rack with a ammo box and a magazine slot, triple deck?

No the hooks are rubber coated and once the rifle is in place there is no movement. I have experienced any issues with mine.

How did you attach 2x4 to wall

I drilled hole all the way thru. I then used a counter sink about an inch and a half. I used 4 inch screws

I will try to do it with Woodbex plans.
