Wish I’d of seen this sooner… I bought 3 wooden/ glass cabinets to display mine. They were pretty cheap but I like this look better. Maybe one day I’ll do this but for now the locked cabinets is best because I have a young child. Great video thanks!

Glass cabinets also look nice! This is just more conducive for bulk collections.

nice... well done and some good ideas. plywood will be my choice unless I go w/ a more select hardwood... also like your idea to have em TOP outward so I will add a 1" riser along the butt end so they tilt into the forend shelf/holder

A riser is a good idea! I also need to add something on the ground so the butts aren’t sitting on the carpet.

Beautiful setup. The 2-tier layer is really nicely done. Unfortunately with a little one in the house, something like this is a no-go.

Yeah, I don’t have that issue now but you’d definitely want them under lock and key with kids around.

The bungee cord keeps mine pretty secure from my kid but he's not around them a lot. You could explore a more secure method of holding them to the rack, maybe a steel cable or something.

@@MilsurpWorld did you end up putting anything on your carpet? I’m thinking about putting either a baseboard down or some leather.

Very nice set up to display your rifles. I am not as trusting of people around here in this area. Having my rifles out in the open is asking for it. I have a locked wooden glass door display gun cabinet with 7 rifles in it and it is locked. All the rest of my rifles and hand guns are in 3 steel gun cabinets in a walk in closet that has a dead bolt. They are all bolted to the wall studs from inside the gun cabinet. You must live in a fairly low crime area.

Thanks! And yeah, I live in one of the safest parts of the country. I’ve not heard of house break-ins in this area but always good to take precautions. We have house cameras setup and multi locked doors.

That looks awesome. Be sure to keep an eye on and routinely oil where the metal touches the felt, the felt can attract moisture and cause surface rust pretty quick and it'll make you want to vomit and cry at the same time.

  • @GarandGuy2553

Good point! I also put a wooden bar on the bottom since making this so the metal butts aren’t sitting on carpet.

@@GarandGuy2553 Good idea! It all depends on where you live and how humid your house gets. Mine is kind of old and in the Midwest it gets real humid so I had a couple mishaps w/ rust before I learned to be overly careful.
